Yep, that is what I actually just did and I am going to try it! Thanks so much! I didn't try eating more calories for more than a few days, which now I'm going to stick to it for a few weeks and see what happens! :)

If it requires being weighed it goes on the scale (i.e. proteins, fruits, etc.)! I even weigh bananas to see how many grams they are! If it is something that has to be measured (i.e. liquids) it goes in the tbsp and tsp! So I know there is a difference!
-
Yes of course I weigh everything I put into my mouth, I'm OCD about it. I measure everything! And I don't typically eat the calories back but have experimented both ways recently to see if a change will occur.
-
Yep, done that too! ;/

Yes, my target weight is directly in the middle of my healthy weight range. I'm not trying to get to the low end or anything! Very realistic goals!

Thank you all SO much! Yep, it was the college/grad school 80 for me!

I agree with everyone so far! I just graduated (finished) C25K and am currently running anywhere from a 12:15-13:00 mile. With that being said I still wasn't technically running a 5K on my last day of Week 9 and since then I have just been running until I hit 3.1 miles which is about 40 minutes of running for me. You'll be…

Thanks everyone! I actually got runner's high today and was able to run for 40 minutes straight/ 3.2 miles!!! YAY!
-
I do a boot camp three times a week that is intense, rigorous intervals of strength, cardio and core exercises. I have built up a TON of muscle from this and feel that it really does help my running and endurance. I'm starting WEEK 9 of C25K this week! WHOO HOO!

Get fitted to know what is right for YOU. I LOVE my asics!

I struggled with this once I started exercising as well. My first six months I only focused on nutrition and couldn't figure out why I wasn't losing once I was working harder with exercise. Come to find out, I wasn't eating enough and was depriving my body of fuel because I was only netting about 700 calories a day when my…

You and I have VERY similar stats! SW: 237 H: 5'8 CW: 198 GW: 150 Awesome job!!!
-
Thanks so much, this is great and makes perfect sense! Just to double check that I'm reading this correctly, you are NETTING 1400 with these calculations right? If so, then I should be netting between 1500-1600 calories depending on the 20-25% rule.

Alright, I think I have it! My BMR is 1601 My TDEE is 2411 2411- 20% = 1929 net calories/day Correct?
-
HA!
-
Ok, so If I do eat at least my BMR which it says is 1671 calories, how much more calories should I eat? I have seen these TDEE calculations. Any help finding those again? Anyone have a link on all of those BMR/TDEE/% calculations? Thanks for helping me figure this out by the way!!!

Yes, I agree. I workout (and have been for months) 5-6 times per week. I haven't been this sore in over a month! These workouts were the same as previous just more intense and worked new muscle groups.
-
Awesome, thanks so much! I see that you're a runner and we are the same age :) Would you do three days of 5k training in a row? The way my schedule has worked out this week (if I take a rest day today) will force me to do my three running days in a row later this week. Opinion? Good or bad idea?

I eat plain Chobani every day! I add a tablespoon of honey with granola or sweetleaf and fruit. It definitely makes the taste great!
-
YES. I was on a plateau for 2 months because I didn't eat back exercise calories. As soon as I started eating them back the pounds started coming off again. It seems counterproductive, but it works and your body needs the fuel!

I have medium sized ta-tas (36B, but sometimes can wear 36C). I LOVE the brand they carry at Target---Champion. They have this line of really soft, flexible sports bras that don't have any wiring or weird, hard elements. They are SUPER comfortable and give support too. I highly recommend them and they're CHEAP.

Hey! I have struggled with this same issue. I literally have tried everything including an enema. The best thing that works for me and REALLY does work is taking a multi-oil vitamin. I take one called Total Woman. It consists of Omega 3s, 6s and 9s, Soy and Rosemary Oil. Mine is produced by Metabolic Research Center, but…

Thank you all!

I lost 44 lbs with nutrition alone and then I started working out and the scale didn't budge at all. ARG. I realized that I wasn't eating enough and my body went into starvation mode once I was burning so many calories. Now I track everything I eat and force myself to eat my exercise calories back... Here are my typical…
-
Yep, lifting weights a lot! I increase every week and am really seeing muscle tone developing. However, my fat percentage isn't budging which is frustrating. I know that I am gaining muscle though!
-
I followed a Metabolic plan with very restrictive guidelines up until today. I have now shifted my program to follow the same basic guidelines, but have added certain healthy foods back into my diet (i.e. peanut butter, almond milk, etc.). I am now trying to focus on the calorie intake and if I need to add more food add…

Week 0: 201.5 Soon to be 176.5 (-25lbs by Christmas!)

Question! Those of you that are experienced... Do you eat back your exercise calories or completely leave them alone? I burn about 700 calories 5-6 days per week and am worried that I will be in calorie deficit.
