I have kids too. I know how hard it is to buy them treats and to do your best to refrain from eating them. If I know that I can't control myself then I don't bring said item into the house. That's the only way I can refrain.

In my case for weight loss it did not matter what I ate, just how much. Calories in/out is what counts.

By tone the tummy do you mean reduce fat in the area or to make the muscles stronger? I have had two kids myself and the only way I have gotten my tummy flat is by reducing my overall body fat, by eating less and the plank has really helped to strengthen my abdominal muscles.

In my personal experience it has not hindered my weight loss but then again I have gone from adding creamer sugar to taking it black. I may drink anywhere from 2-4 cups a day.

That is a good point you make. I too don't eat back my exercise calories. If I do I gain weight. I consider exercise a bonus and more for my psychological state and over well being.

I eat Lean Cuisines 2-3x per week when I am too lazy to cook anything. Always eat with a huge salad.

I think your goal is fine for you. I think some people may not get it. I don't like to tell people how much I weigh because then they would say I am too skinny and I hate that. For me I want to look great in a bathing suit not just in clothes. Everyone has their own goals. Don't worry about what everyone else thinks of you.

I have maintained my weight loss by counting calories no special plan.

for me it's a way to reduce my caloric intake. Fasting is a way to not spend so much time thinking about food. It's quite liberating. I don't feel weak at all. Oh and by the way I am quite healthy despite fasting. All my blood work is spot on.

I have decreased my belly fat by decreasing my overall body fat. Creating a caloric deficit is what helped me get a flat tummy.

I have the ESE book and BP states nothing caloric. But you know do what works for you. The purpose of ESE is to decrease your overall caloric intake over the week. I do ESE and only have water, coffee, tea and chew some gum. The first few fasts were really tough but eventually they get easier. I now do my cardio sessions…

As long you are creating a weekly caloric deficit you will lose weight no matter what you eat.
-
It is but you have to watch your portions and make sure you are within your caloric ranges for weight loss.

sounds like a great plan!

I am at a healthy weight and I still can't listen to my body. If I could possibly listen to my body then keeping off the weight would be completely effortless. I would have never gained weight in the first place.

I have tried Primal eating but it proved to be pretty impossible for me to eat that way as I couldn't change the way my kids and husband ate.
-
I have to say this happens to me too. It's like logic goes out the window. It's like you know you should not but you do. lol The only thing to do is not punish yourself and just act as if it didn't happen. Got back to your normal routine right away, the next day.

I don't exercise as much as some. I only go to the gym 3x wk and lift weights at home. Diet is the key to weightloss

Just guesstimate. I would much rather over estimate calories than underestimate.

Certainly. There are some people who will be uncomfortable with your weight loss. I think it's more of her personal issue than yours. The best thing to do is disregard her comment and remember that you are doing this for you and not satisfy anyone else.

That's a lot of calories. Thankfully I share a large with my kids and husband.
