  • i'll be trying this one.:)
  • I recently started teaching group fitness classes at our local gym (that is a whole other post) and we are having a halloween party complete with prize for the best costume. I have only told my clients that there's is going to have to be good to beat mine. I am going to be a bag of jelly beans but my sign will say "Jelly…
  • Why has cheese been forbiden? It can be a great source of protein if you pick the right kind and keep the fat content low.
  • Bump from me too. Thanks!
  • While taking my fitness instructor specialist certification I was taught that (in Canada anyway) the recomendations are as follows: Cardio - 4-7 times a week Stretching - 4-7 times a week Strength training - 2-4 times a week I'll admitt that I haven't read all of the posts from this thread but after reading your initial…
  • Sounds very yummy! Can't wait to try them!
  • I am aiming for 150 lbs because it is in the middle of my BMI too. I figured that the top of my BMI was still too high but to be at the bottom would probably make me look sick, so my goal is to be right in the middle.
  • Lack of snow is definitely not an issue here this year. The snow banks are past my waist and I am 5'9''. That sounds like such a great idea to try with the kids and I am sure we will have a fresh snowfall to try it on very soon.
  • I'm marking this one down for sure.
  • Sounds great! I will definately be trying that one out. I also had a trainer give me a good treadmill workout before my running days. Kind of the same idea, starting at an incline of 1 for two minutes and then increasing the incline every two minutes until you are up to and have completed two minutes at an incline of 10.…
  • I use a miracle bullet. It's like a little blender. Works great! The flax seed does need to be ground before it is mixed with anything like a smoothie though.
  • Making this for lunch this week for sure!
  • Sounds great. I will be trying these as a snack for my kids to take to preschool as well as for myself.
  • I only have regular oats on hand. Would it work with those instead of the quick cooking ones? Maybe if I let the mixture sit a little longer?
  • It's been awhile since my last check in but I have been keeping up with the workouts. Just finished legs and back with ab ripper X this morning. Feeling pretty tired but breakfast should help some with that. I am loving most of the workouts with the exception of Ab Ripper X but even that is getting a little bit better…
  • Yummy oatmeal for the colder weather. Thanks everyone!
  • I believe I will be trying this as well. thanks!
  • Day 3 today. I just did shoulders and arms. Great workout!!! Loved it!!! Can't wait for next week!
  • Today is day 1 for me too. I am following the lean program this time around. I have a baby belly to get rid of so core synergistics is a great workout for me. I had tried the program back in January but the timing just wasn't right (the baby was still too young to have a normal schedule). Now that she is over a year, all…
  • I am excited to start the workout program tomorrow morning. My question for Dave is this, I am doing my workout Mon, Wed, and Fri in the morning before my kids are awake (hopefully) so I won't be eating breakfast until after the workout. I know I should have something before I do these workouts though. I don't want it to…
  • I too am going to start on Monday. I did about a week and a half of the classic back in January but it just wasn`t working out with a 6 month old and my other two kids. I am going to venture another go at it using the lean plan starting on Spetmeber 13th. I have decided 3 mornings a week around 6:30 am, one day during the…
  • I'm sorry that I haven't been updating this post. Our computer was out of commision and it takes too long to type on my Ipod. I am down to just over a week before my first triathlon. Training hasn't been going as well as I thought but it is going. At first, I thought that the swim would be the most difficult event but I'm…
  • Wow what a powerful story. Time for me to start working on the weight training a little mroe diligently.
  • After reading Sara's post, I thought I better check my calorie burn for 30 Day Shred again. I too feel like it is a bit easier now that I am healthier but I didn't realize that the calorie burn was that different. I am 5'9" and currently 177lbs. I used to burn over 300 cals but when I checked the other day it was only 177…
  • Although I forget which model I have ( I think P4 if that makes sense) because I bought it a couple of years ago but yes I hae worn it swimming and it still works great.
  • I LOVE the Mongolie Grill! It's actually pretty easy to keep it healthy while eating there. First load your bowl with veggies, then pick a decent portion of lean meat or seafood and use low cal sauce. Another easy way to cut out some calories is to leave out the rice or just take a tiny but if you really want it. Good luck…
  • I hit about 275-300 cals for level 1 and am 5'9" and 180lbs.
  • Sorry, double post and I'm not sure how to delete it.
  • My solution has been to find activities that we can all do together. And by all of us I mean my husband and 3 small kids. We try to go for walks and do lots of bking as a family. It is great quality time and I am out and moving too. This whole process is a lifestyle change and that is one of the ways we have changed our…
