If you are concerned about too much carbonation, you can mix it with regular water. (I can't take too much carbonation because of reflux.)

Nope, I also wonder why people want one; it makes them look bowlegged.

I don't think of this as dieting, but as being healthy. Weight loss is a good side effect for me, but I want to feel good and have energy.

Thank you for sharing your inspiring story. Congrats on making such a major change in how you live. Your daughter is lucky to have you.

Mashed cauliflower or rutabagas. Or roasted parsnips. All pretty tasty done right. I still hate lima beans and fava beans. Still hate raw onions and garlic. And I love liver (pate/liverwurst and breaded fried chicken livers).

This is true for me too--I have had pain off and on since 2009. If I wear shoes without good support, like sandals, too much, then the pain flares up. Or if I stand on hard surfaces too much, or if I go barefoot in the house and stand too much, it comes back. Wearing orthotics helps, and avoiding flimsy shoes. The pain I…

I have to restart the app every day, but I don't mind; I have a shortcut on my desktop and it's just a few clicks. I like knowing when it syncs, anyway. I have a Win7 laptop, not sure if that's part of the problem.

have some delicious fruit instead...mmm, summer berries...

I'd recommend getting your blood levels checked. You might be anemic or Vitamin D deficient. And increasing protein when you are working out a lot is always a good idea.

Best wishes to you and your little one.

I love my One--in combination with EveryMove.org, I am motivated to keep my activity level up even with a desk job. I bought my Fitbit at Best Buy and kept the receipt. When I lost it due to a stretched clasp, Fitbit replaced it free, no postage charged. So save your receipt.

Ditto. I get a reaction within minutes.

I mostly do okay because I prefer water to anything else, but on hot days when I need more, I have to add some fruit/etc. for flavor--citrus, mint, or cucumber usually.. Today it was 3 crushed raspberries; I filled the cup three times before the flavor was completely gone.

I agree with newdaydawning--I don't spend much on workout clothes/yoga clothes, and I don't wear them for anything but working out, so it doesn't matter to me as long as they are comfortable and practical. My waterproof top and pants are the most expensive, and I got those from Sports Authority on sale (The North Face…

Tonight it will be 4% cottage cheese and a fresh, ripe sliced peach...mmm!

When I lived in the Adirondacks (Saranac Lake, NY) in the late 90s, the grocery selection was terrible. Not much choice of fresh fruits or vegetables--I had to hunt for farmer stands or drive to Plattsburgh for groceries. Good local apples and maple syrup, though.

Alydar, I love Jones Dry soda! It's an occasional treat as a mixer when I want an alcoholic drink.

Do you do ever do yoga? I found that gentle yoga (not the weight-loss kind, but the one for relaxation and stress reducing) a few nights a week was really helpful in flexibility and in slimming out (without weight loss, my clothes fit differently in 6 weeks).

I'm more focused eating right and being more active after a couple years of poor health, rather than on weight/speed of loss. But I do want to lose 20 more lbs, to get below 150. Ideal is probably 135/size 10, but I will revisit when I get to 150. I have broad shoulders and pelvis, so it's really hard for me to get below a…

Twenty of the pounds I needed to lose came from a long struggle with anemia, and terrible fatigue and weakness. I mean, I couldn't walk up a flight of stairs without getting light-headed, and I was sleeping 10 hours a day or more. After months of trying to figure out the cause, the doctor finally tested me for H. pylori…

Thought-provoking topic--thanks. My Why: To feel better physically: to have less pain in my knee that has an old injury, and to have energy to have fun after work.

I definitely belong in this group--hello, fellow nerdlings. I'm not a gamer (but most of my friends are so I've spend many an hour in front of a game screen). However, I do read comics, manga, science fiction, and graphic novels. And I dig Star Trek (except Enterprise), Doctor Who in all incarnations, Firefly, and Babylon…
