I do the same elliptical machine at least 5 days a week and throw in a 12 minute fast-paced squat routine with 5 & 8 pound weights 2-3 times a week. I use a Fitbit Surge which has a surprisingly accurate heart rate monitor. On the elliptical I watch the HRM and push to stay in the cardio zone or higher for 90% of my…

Bolthouse is my go-to fave! I like the idea of adding vinegar to boring cream dressings; it really is good. One piece of advice, don't waste your money on light or fat free blue cheese dressings. I've tried several and they always taste like chalky chemicals! Makes me so sad!

Loaded question...does my coffee count as water? Personally, I don't count my coffee, tea, protein shakes, milk, G2's or diet sodas as "water". I count plain water and water I added flavor powder or flavor drops to - as water. I strive for at least 8 cups of said water a day; but usually end up with 10-12 in addition to my…

You can still enjoy "grandma time" just don't eat as much. You need to figure out how to do that and then do it every time. You have to make this a lifestyle change in order to be successful in the long term; otherwise, you'll just end up gaining it all back and then some. Trust me! Been there - done that - bought the…

Couldn't you do resistance exercises using your own body weight? Continue with cardio, Eat good quality, high protein, lots of greens and good (not refined) carbs. And do as ndj1979 suggested and enter your goal into MFP and let it do the calorie counting for you. Just make sure you log accurately and stick to your plan.

Don't be too hard on yourself! But as everyone has said, this is just a tool designed to help you realize you haven't consumed enough calories (based on information YOU provided) which could result in slower metabolism, slower weight loss and you being pissed off because the site didn't "work". Be happy there isn't the…

I'm Di from beautiful Butte, Montana; originally from Washington state. I've been a member since January 2014 and had a goal of losing 30 pounds. I met that goal late last summer and actually exceeded it by about 5 pounds and currently am 31 pounds lighter than I was when I started. Yay! :D To be more active in my day: + I…

I'm 5'4" and started at 162; I got down to my lowest of 120, and that was too small; I looked sickly. I have a big frame and have muscle definition in my arms, shoulders, back and abs that I'm quite happy with. I am maintaining between 125 - 129. It's perfect for me and my size 26 jeans. I usually wear small shirts, but…

I personally think it is unnecessary to cut out ANY food (unless of course you have an allergy or it makes you feel ill, etc.). Eat in moderation and exert yourself every now and then. Figure out what works for you and follow that plan. B) (*)

In his defense, he did clarify in a later post that he meant he cut down on sugar in his snacks: mikediverfl wrote: » I log everything I eat plus everything I do in the gym. I use liquid egg whites as often as I can. I love making breakfast sandwiches on hungry girl flatout fold-its. I can eat them for every meal; add some variety with turkey sausage and feta or a slice of cheese. I was also wondering where to get wilted baby...LOL! ;)

^^That pretty much describes my story perfectly! Don't you worry, hon, those chicks will get their just desserts and hopefully it will go straight to their thighs!

Having said that, I'm going to do at least an hour on it tonight to <hopefully :# > help me sleep better tonight.

Not today but I did 113 minutes on my elliptical yesterday B)

Try to reduce the carbs from refined flours (white breads, rice, pasta, bagels, etc) and add more lean protein. Protein will help keep you feeling full longer and if you're starving after your workout, eat a lean, high protein with good carbs (think greens & whole grain carbs) snack or shake. Starving is not the answer.

It seems to me, that if you pay a membership fee, you should be able to visit ANY club, ANY time. When I was a member of the local YMCA that was their policy.....and this is just my opinion. Hope you get it figured out!

skinless chicken breast; grilled. Very high in protein. About 21 grams for a 98 gram breast. The Tyson Grilled and Ready are pre-cooked and frozen and are very convenient. For a grain quinoa is high in protein and there are so many recipes on the internet. Cottage cheese is very high also. Toss in some greens and tomato…

I bought a stationery stand for my bike. I have it hooked up now and will use it throughout the inclement weather we experience in Montana. It has resistance settings and I can use the gears on my bike to change the resistance as well. I go mountain biking through my living room!! Turn on the TV and bike!
