Thank you all for your input! @RowdysLady - thanks for the link. A lot of good info on there. In fact, I'm more and more convinced that it's injury and not gout; maybe just DOMS. But like @WBB55 said, the test is simple, and if it is gout they should still be able to detect it even though the swelling is now gone. I have…

I only recalculated once, after I lost 50 lbs and stalled for 3 weeks. I discovered then that my old "weight loss" calories had become my new maintenance calories, and that's why I'd quit losing. I plan on staying at the new macros as long as they still work, and go from there.

Thank you! I remember now doing them in the crock pot for 24 hrs. Thanks for the reminder! I had totally forgotten that part. Thank you all for your input!

Okay, here's my 1 year photo. Before is April 18, 2015 @ 225 lbs. After is April 17, 2016 @ 166 lbs (5' 9"). I've since taken off another 4-5 lbs, and hoping for another 10 by the end of the summer. @Phrick - your swimsuits are so cute!!

@Sunny_Bunny_ I just watched that entire video and am confused as ever as to what the biggest risk is concerning LDL. But good Lord, that man is fine. I may watch it again. For reasons.

Weird! I thought I'd noticed less hair on my arms lately, but dismissed it as just seeing things. I have definitely noticed the kp on my arms has faded though, so that's a plus. And my heels aren't as dry.

I tried that too once, thinking it would kill the craving. Instead it was just a mess and it tasted all wrong. Pork rinds are pretty good with guacamole, though!

Pinterest has tons of good recipes!

Oh, wow. I just realized I'm premenstrual. That explains EVERYTHING!! Thanks for your input though!

Okay, guys. I wasn't trying to punish myself. I love running. I'll do it regardless. I haven't in a while because of injuries. Thankfully that's behind me now. The glycogen is mainly what I was wondering about, so thank you for answering my question.

I did it many, many years ago. I never noticed any positive changes from it. Not like I've gotten from LCHF. It's an interesting concept, though.
-
That's a great idea! I'll have to remember that if I ever forget my lunch.
-
That sounds amazing!

Omg. Light bulb moment! This totally explains why I am so much hungrier now since I hit the 50 lb mark (20-ish to go). I need to up my fat intake, because I have less of it to fuel my body. Thanks for the pie chart, @wabmester! You are always so helpful.

I never thought of bringing those! That probably would've been better than the quest bars.

It must have been all the calories I burned from the nervous shaking while in line for my photo ops. Misha is so handsome in person! And Jared- holy cow. Well, see my new pic. Lol Dr gave me a thumbs up for going low carb, too.

Thank you @wabmester! Your explanations help this make a lot more sense and give me something else to begin to focus on as I get closer to starting maintenance.
-
@wabmester - Interesting. According to that calculator, my HR for my last couple of runs was on the high side for this. It creates an interesting dilemma. I want to continue to push myself when I run, so that I can get in better shape and hopefully one day go back to half marathons, but I also don't want to miss the peak…

How do i figure out my 70% VO2max? I guess I'm wondering if I'm working out at the right heart rate.

I just finished reading the study, and I agree with @Lillith32. I'd like to see what happens with the average keto-adapted person who's not an elite athlete. Would our rates of fat oxidation be similar? I sure hope so! At any rate, this fave me the push I needed to start running again, and I am finding it easier now in…

I saw your OP and immediately went out for a run, my first since going LCHF and losing 50 lbs. I felt the sodium depletion about a mile in. I'll definitely keep this in mind next time! Thanks for posting! I'll need to read up more on running keto now.
-
That's amazing progress in such a short time! Way to go!

I generally watch the grams more than anything. I make sure my protein is above the minimum that the keto calculator gave me. When I do strength training (usually a few weeks on and a few weeks off) I'll make sure I'm on the higher side of that range. I've only been watching that hard core for the last few months, though.…

I've done both, going back and forth over the last year, and I tend to do better when I count total carbs and keep them under 20. Otherwise for me the temptation is too great to cheat.

I saw that keto gnocchi recipe on pinterest and wondered if it was worth it. I'm curious too! I miss mac & cheese and this sounds like a great way to get my fix.
-
Ah! I see. I didn't know that!

Okay thanks guys! It hasn't made a difference so far in my weight loss, but as I get closer to goal (and I'm leaning more toward zero carb these days) I need to get more strict about it. Although the past few days I've been cooking everything in the bacon grease that's rendered off the bacon as I cook it, so that should…

Mmmm... I have all those ingredients but my oven's broken. :/

I never even liked steak before this WOE. Now a medium rare filet is my favorite thing!

I've never been and there's one a block from my house. I'm definitely adding it to the list! Thanks for the tip.
