  • Where does the white go when the snow melts?
  • I have a boxer-lab mix, Emmylou, who loves to run with me. She builds up her stamina with me in the spring (I'm a fair weather runner) and is good for about 7 miles at a 6mph pace. More than that and she starts to lag. It does depend on the heat. I also found that although she usually stops to take a dump halfway through,…
  • I am 3" taller than my SO (I'm 6'2"), plus I'm in 10K training and lift heavy 3 days a week. I eat like a horse. He's a big guy and will sometimes eat half a pizza. I have no problem eating the other half as long as it fits in my daily calories. On days when I lift and run, I will sometimes eat as many as 3000 calories. He…
  • I prefer to do the online version of "the fade." In real life this involves slowly fading people out of my life: Taking a long time to return calls, being "busy" when they want to hang out, forgetting to keep them updated on things that are important to me, etc. Online, this is more difficult, so I slowly fade out my…
  • When I first started running, I worked on time, not distance. So, if you can run 15 minutes straight, do that a couple of times, then add two minutes, repeat. After I was able to run for more than 30 minutes, I began tracking my distance and worked on meeting those goals. Now, I'm in training for my second 10K.
  • You could cook a lot of Steel-Cut oats on the weekend then warm them in the microwave for a quick breakfast. Just a thought.
  • If you open your diary people may be able to give you some advice on what you're eating that may be attributing to water gain and/or a lack of weigh loss.
  • People always ask if I play basketball. I mean, I know that's not exactly insulting, but it is a stereotypical assumption. My response? "Actually, I'm a horse jockey." My mom, who also got tired of hearing this question when I was a kid always responds, "Does your child play miniature golf?" Yes, sarcasm is genetic.
  • I don't really know. I'm struggling with losing any weight. I'm 6'2" and I have really big feet (women's 14). Is that indicative of a large frame? I currently weigh 192 and set a goal of 170. I'm wondering if that is too low. Maybe I should aim for 180 and set my MFP at 1/2 pound a week. I'm currently trying 1 pound per…
  • Or take 3 seconds to "search" previous posts to see if someone has already asked your question and already taken the beating for asking it, again. Then, read that thread and ignore that information.
  • Breakfast in a Bowl: Here's how I make it: 2 cups plain greek yogurt 2 cups fat free cottage cheese 1/2 cup steel cut oats 24 whole almonds diced/sliced 1 tsp vanilla 1 tsp allspice. it comes out to about 255 calories for 1 Cup. Makes 4 Cups. Make sure you let it sit overnight to soften the oats. It has 27 grams of protein…

  • My weakness is going back for more...Everything tastes like more.
  • I find that if the arch support inserts in my shoes are getting worn out, I tend to get shin splints. So, perhaps visiting a quality shoe store and getting inserts will help.
  • Ha Ha Fatty! I bet you didn't expect to see a six pound gain this morning!! Joke's on you!!! BAHAHAHA
  • used the search option. Found this: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/417814-lower-abs?hl=lower+ab#posts-5747430
  • I personally don't like the connotation. When I googled Bakura, this is what came up: "Originally from egypt, Bakura is an evil spirit"
  • I like to call the feeling of dieting anger "hangry." They are angry because they are hungry. I get this way when I don't eat pizza frequently enough. A lack of pizza makes me hangry.
  • Maybe I'll try juicing, too--as soon as someone figures out how to make pizza a juice. Mmm...pizza.
  • I don't know about cleansing, but drinking lemon water can help regulate the body's PH balance and is beneficial for people who have acid reflux or heart burn.
  • BUMP because it's Shamrock Shake season again :)
  • I actually heard the same NPR story, and with regards to the posting about French women (and French in general), NPR actually had a reporter call the French embassy and get in touch with someone concerning the nutrition patterns of the French and their cheese eating. While Americans tend to eat cheese WITH things: on…
  • Biddi, I can't see your diary, so I have no thoughts on why you're having problems, but, longhorn, I went back to January 27th in your diary: 4 days were not logged or not logged for all meals (stopped after breakfast or lunch). From personal experience, when I don't log, it's because I went over my calories and didn't…
  • I make Jillian Michael's Breakfast in a Bowl (with my own modification). I've copied it from my recipes for you: Mix all ingredients in a bowl, add 1/2 tsp allspice. Let sit overnight to soften oats. It makes 4 1Cup servings. Sometimes I add fruit (berries) to the top. The original recipe calls for 2 cups plain yogurt with…
  • Open up your food/exercise diary so we can see to help you.
  • Grilled chicken breast on spring greens with walnuts and Mandarin oranges. Home-made oil and vinegar dressing and a sprinkle of feta.
  • I vary as much as 6 pounds in a day and frequently see variations of 1-3 pounds day to day. The only day that matters is Friday mornings when I weigh in for MFP.
  • I have a gym buddy, so we go together in the evenings. I work from 7-4, take my dog for a walk, then hit the gym about 6 or so. Come home and eat dinner :)

  • I'm also a teacher! I have a friend and we alternate making a big pot of soup on the weekends and splitting it with one another. Then, for lunch, I have a cup of soup and... half an avacado on Wasa crackers or hard boiled egg and 1/2 cup cottage cheese or salad with grilled chicken Normally, we try to keep our soup…
  • Wow! You have 7 ponds? I'm sorry they're so tight. In order to loose a pond, I would let the dam go. In order to lose 7 pounds however, I would follow the advice given above.
