  • We got a very good deal from Powerhouse fitness (I see you're from the UK so have a look) and got all that minus the dumbell bench and the selectabells for £750. We went in and negotiated the price further than the site says, but I think they would do it over the phone too if there isn't one near you. Having invested…
  • My friend did it and lost 9 stone in as many months. Since coming off it just over two years ago she's put on about 28lbs/12.7kg, she used MFP at first and was struggling to eat more than 1000 calories without putting weight on (I'm dubious as to how honest she was but that's another thing!) and now she just tries to eat…
  • a) Squat rack, barbell, 120kg rubber weights, selectabells, dumbell bench, barbell bench b) The garage! c) It's out all the time but there is the battle with the other garage items on occasion! d) EZ bar, step and more mats!
  • You can do what the others say and put in say 800 portions in the recipe function, meaning 800g then log 350 portions/grams for example. Or, if I'm just cooking for two and not building a recipe then I just weigh the plates as I've dished out each section of the meal so once I've weighed the meat to make sure we have half…
  • Do you have an evening around once a week to batch make things? If you do then the obvious ones like chilli or bolognese sauce (pasta for the kids, vegetables as a side with yours or smaller portion of pasta) or you could do this low cal moussaka recipe…
  • Download the app 'Fitness Buddy', it lets you track the lifts you do and also has workout plans with good variety :)
  • It doesn't sound like much? It's awesome!
  • I think you're doing awesome! I started about 11 months ago, I had a two month break and only my squat is higher than yours. Your bench is more, I can't bench very well and got stuck at 30kg/66lbs for ages! Well done!!
  • I always struggle with grip too at my heavier lifts on my deads, my thumb just slips and then...it's gone! Where I used to struggle gripping 50kg I can now comfortably grip 70kg and just about do 5 reps at 75kg. It will improve but slowly.
  • Carry around snacks with you in your bag that won't go off, like some pork scratchings or a protein bar or something so that if you do want something to eat then at least you have the nutritional information and don't have to make a quick decision in a shop or like me, get tempted by bakeries!
  • @madeleadele they're pretty awesome, the first time I made it I just kept saying 'it smells and tastes so realistic!' as if real food wasn't realistic! Definitely give them a go, I don't even get tempted by sweet and sour at the Chinese now because it's so like what you can buy. Good idea on the lettuce wraps too, love…
  • Can you, on a Sunday night for example, boil a load of eggs and grill some bacon? They'll last for a few days in the fridge and you could do it once mid week too?
  • I like to make sweet and sour turkey meatballs. It tastes just like takeout but has a lot less calories! It's quite high in carbs but if you're not bothered about that then you're good. I usually have with stir fried vegetables but that's because I'm low carbing at the moment. If you're not, have rice or noodles! I have…
  • Yep, I prelog (or 'plog' as I prefer to call it) definitely makes things easier because then I know if I can fit something extra in or need to do a bit more exercise before I can have something else :) Sometimes I don't plog dinner because I don't know weights etc yet but might do it roughly and tweak as I need to.
  • @azulvioleta6 me too! So dry! Ha, it's my British version of American size ;) For those of you working in grams like me I used 120g of the coconut flour and 150g of milk. I think I will play around with extra eggs or milk but this is a pretty good recipe as it is!
  • Here's what they looked like. Not great on the presentation but they tasted good!
  • I love low carb. I'm less hungry and don't feel like it's as restrictive as I expected - it definitely makes me be more imaginative with what I serve for dinner! Fibre is an issue though, illusive little thing.
  • I guess it does to me, I sometimes drink it black so when I have milk I'm not too bothered by how much is in there. Wow you must've been on a high all day with that sugar - hard to cut it out?
  • That is an impressive amount of milk! When I have logged mine in the past it was only about 15ml/g!
  • I don't log my tea, but I really should. Just zero your scale when you're adding the milk and use the 1ml=1g measurement that @CM_73 mentioned.
  • Good idea! I do that with ice cream (not a knife obviously!) so not sure why I didn't think of that. Anyway, you shouldn't help me eat Nutella!
  • Haha! They might be doing it to help you out but it's pretty suspicious...it looks seriously good - get someone to film it, ego boost if you ever need one! ;)
  • Then I shall add you as a friend @cindytw and steal all your ideas from your diary!
  • Amazing! My other half who usually spots me for bench mentioned how awesome that area looked when I bench, I didn't believe him so he filmed me. I will never ask for a bench spot again! :p
  • Thank you @cindytw and thank you @mangrothian :) I will take you up on your ideas and actually looking back through them there are quite a few low carb. Someone mentioned it depends what I deem as low carb, my goal each day is under 100g so I can sneak a bit of 'real' carb in there if I really wanted! :)
  • I am going to make that soon! What temperature and for how long?
  • Last night's creation was chicken with giant cous cous, fennel, pear, pomegranate and walnut. It was ok, a bit dry, but I did leave out the fennel because I don't like it so maybe that would've added a bit of wetness! Essentially a good meal though, with the burn version replacing giant cous cous with roasted celeriac :)…
  • I've stopped making a bento box for lunch since doing low carb, does anyone here make low carb bento boxes? I suppose i just need to be a little more creative!
  • So I made the duck with soy and ginger and sesame black noodles last night. I used the burn version of the recipe so replaced the noodles with courgette noodles. It was really good, quick and easy to make and came in at 429 calories with 40g protein :)
  • Death by Food Pyramid sounds exciting, I will be looking this one up!
