Late joiner here too! Looking for motivation losing the 15lbs I gained back over the past year.(and then some!) I'm a 47yr old female, 5'5" Plan: continue to use MFP to track food (but journal EVERY bite) and stay under 1500 calories, get formal exercise in 4-6 days a week, and reach my 10K step goal daily. CW: 171 GW: 149

Me too! I kill it in the exercise dept, but need extra motivation and accountability where the diet is concerned

Once I read "Supersize Me", I can't and won't eat fast food. How it even qualifies as food is beyond me. Don't get me wrong, I love a good burger and some fries, but I look for or make healthier and tastier options. (My 11 year old read only the first chapter or two and hasn't eaten fast food since.)

I decided for me, it was best left up to a trainer to instruct me. I continue to workout with him after 3 years to maintain my loss/fitness level and extra motivation.

There are many ways in which to track your progress/success. For me, at the beginning before I set any definitive goals, I knew that even if I wasn't seeing any changes on the outside, I knew that working out certainly wasn't bad for me and was actually doing me good on the inside. In addition to photos, scale and…

80% of your success will come from diet, the other from exercise. You may need to adjust your calories and tweak your nutrition. I found in my own journey that diet matters most! The calories and what type of calories can make a huge difference. The scale started to cooperate when I increased my protein, and nixed simple…

My Dad dying of cancer at age 64 and Mom dying of an aneurysm 3 months later, also age 64. Not weight related but I knew I wanted to get healthy asap and not put my kids through losing parents too young.

I use the powder and almond milk, and like to add the ice for texture(more shake like) and volume 8) Good to know the regular bullet can handle ice, not to find one!

My lifestyle change happened for me in 2010. After losing my parents so young, I decided I wanted to get healthy. I joined a gym and eventually worked my way from working out over my lunch hour 3 times a week, to working over my lunch hour 5 days a week, and weekend boot camps. With the help of a personal trainer, I lost…

The cost of a membership will vary depending on what region you live in, and different gyms charge different rates. I know that Planet Fitness is supposed to be a cheaper rate, but hear that they don't offer classes or personal trainers. The decision really depends on you getting your money's worth out of your gym…

This is my opinion from my own personal experience and based on the fact you find at trainer that fits your personality (some folks need a more aggressive trainer[think Jillian Michaels] while others fare better with a more someone who is still motivating, but not so "mean".) I worked out in the gym for almost a year on my…

In the gym I listen to a mix, but usually one genre at a time. When running outside(or on treadmill) I crank Foo Fighters- the beat(s) help me keep my pace perfectly!

Whichever one you are more likely to do is the one to go with. In my opinion, cardio can be done just as easily at home or the gym, but strength training may be easier done at a gym just for the sheer amount of variety in equipment. Working out is vital for weightloss, but without proper calorie management you may not…

What made (me) fat : being lazy and not paying attention to how much food I was putting in my mouth, and lack of exercise How . .over come it : made a commitment to go to the gym 3 days a week over my lunch hour. After a few weeks, I figured, what's another 2 days. And although I didn't see any results(because I didn't…
