When I bought my dress I was a size 6, when it finally arrived, and it was time for alterations - I had gained quite a bit of weight. Thankfully it was a corset and they were able to add a bit of material, but you can bet that I was in a hurry to drop a few pounds so that I could fit properly into the dress that I had…

lol - no kidding I'm from Ottawa as well.

It has to be his idea, and I recommend that you don't force it on him. I know when my husband would start eating healthy, and I wasn't, but he tried to get me to - to "support him" - it would piss me off and annoy me. We never seemed to try "eating healthy" at the same times. Now I let him do his thing. He mentioned he…

Great job!! :)

This is exactly what I do. And watch the portions/calories of these treats. Edited to add: I find that avoiding it completely makes me go completely overboard when I do get to have sugar, so knowing that I can have a little bit every day helps - you know?

I'm new(ish) to MFP as well - I'm happy to accept friends and I log-in daily (though I've taken a mini-break from logging food, I'll start again tomorrow). Anyone feel free to add me.

My little girl (5) is convinced I have a baby in my belly. I struggled a long time to figure out how to explain that I was not pregnant, but just "big". I ended up telling her that people come in different shapes and sizes, and I am shaped that way. It peeves me off when my mom rattles on about her weight loss/gain in…

I just can't believe someone would make a complaint over this - my god... What the hell were they doing looking there in the first place?

I used to work at an office that was big on pranks. Here's some: - one morning, we saran-wrapped absolutely everything in my coworkers cubicle. right down to the pens, and then we added tape. it was hilarious and took a lot of time to unwrap. - another morning, said coworker and i put packing peanuts in another coworkers…

I typically eat wraps. My favourite is whole wheat tortilla, romaine lettuce and 60g of hummus (protein). You can also do wraps with boiled eggs, chicken, cheese, etc. - but I find hummus quick, easy and tasty. Edited to add: I used to put peanut butter/banana wraps in my daughters lunch when she was in school, she used to…

It IS a big deal - I was so happy when I got in the 100s, congrats!

This is a great idea!

When I was pregnant, I was 200 lbs. I gained 15 pounds during the pregnancy. When I gave birth, not quite a week later, I was down about 20 lbs - so less than I was pre-pregnancy.

Nope. But I forgot to comment about it.

I have a huge belly - people often ask me if I'm pregnant, which really sucks. Even when I've been thinner, my belly still stuck out noticeably. It seems to be the first place I gain and the last place I lose. Edit: And I may be completely off-base, but part of it might be genetics? I have the exact same shape as my mom.

I have this problem - but I don't really wear tight pants so the only one who notices is me. I have no clue when/if it goes away, I hope so.

My mother-in-law and a coworker both noticed that I lost weight this week. :) My mother-in-law is really proud of me - which I'm happy about, because we get along well and she really takes care of herself. Great role-model.

I lost a ton of weight while breastfeeding without really trying - it definitely burns lots of calories! I can't help you with amount of calories to eat - but just wanted to pop in to say - with supply issues, eating a lot of oatmeal really helped me.
-
- getting asked "when are you due" by complete strangers and you're not pregnant - plus sizes are a lot more expensive (in my experience anyway) - finding flattering clothes that do not make you look even more pregnant (see first point above) - pants rolling down due to big belly/overhang - bending over to tie shoes is a…

This is just perfect. OP - I've sent you a personal message.

OMG - tears are running down my face, I'm trying to laugh quietly. Eek. http://www.buzzfeed.com/michaelrusch/haribo-gummy-bear-reviews-on-amazon-are-the-most-insane-thin

It truly is! :)

I was obese and unhappy but completely unmotivated to do anything about it. One day, the strap on my shoes broke and I had to go buy another pair during lunch hour. After a good five minutes of sweating, grunting, and trying various positions to do up the strap on the shoes in the store because my huge belly was in the way…

Yep. I went 9 days without any movement. It's very sporadic.

I lost a bunch of weight in the first week, then I stayed at the same weight for 9 days and then it started to come off again (but much more slowly). I've been at this for a month and averaging 3 pounds a week. Be patient, and stick with it - it will happen! And I agree - stay within your calories, but eat meals you enjoy…

I was just about to suggest a blood test. Low iron can cause those symptoms - but a doctor should tell you for sure.

At first I quit cold turkey - for a few days, to get my cravings in check. I was a MAJOR sugar addict. I could eat a box of 20 timbits to myself, two chocolate bars at a time, or eat almost an entire box of oreos. I can't keep to a plan without sugar. Every time I would try to "diet" cold turkey I would always fall off the…

If I have a heavy lunch, i.e. fast food - I typically have a lighter dinner because I'm still pretty full by the time dinner rolls around. Then, the next day I go back to normal. I don't really think it's a big deal. I don't really mind having a fast food meal - I've gone out a few times since starting this. I've noticed…

I was a mindless snacker as well, and timing my snacks and pre-planning my snack portions helped me to get it under control. I would have a nice breakfast, snack at 10:30, lunch at noon, snack at 2:30, supper at 5, and typically stop eating for the night (with a few exceptions). Knowing when/what my next snack would be…
