  • When I see someone like yourself, a beautiful 60-year old accomplish this goal it truly is inspiring. You look simply amazing. Very happy for you.
  • Well, well, well young Lady I must say that it takes one hell of a story to get me to post or respond to. You have managed to get a response from me. What a awesome and one of the most incredible stories of struggle, loss and overcoming that I have read in a very long time. You really should send this in to multiple…
  • Typical response to not being responsible for one's self!!!!!!!!!!!! Good grief and we wonder why we are in the State we are today!!!!!!!!!
  • The only thing or person to blame for being over weight is ONE'S SELF!!!!!!!!!
  • If you have an injury a pool is a great way to over come any physical limitations. The point of beginning is not to hurt yourself. The resistance of the water will work your entire body. Most exercises you do on land from cycling to running you can do in water with little to no stress on your joints.
  • Lap swimming and snorkeling are my favorites.
  • Guilty as charged. I swim everyday (Mon-Fri) for 2 hours.
  • A standing ovation for you! If you can't walk or run then you will swim or ride a bike. With your determination I have no doubt that whatever you choose you will be great at it. I swim everyday with a gentleman who has one leg and he ALWAYS makes me want to push myself in the water even harder. Once again a big KUDDOS to…
  • I have been married to the same guy for 30 years. My word we have had some really big knock down drag out fights. No one who has been married that long has had a walk in the park with a marriage. But I can honestly say my Husband has never not once called me an ugly name. I would not tolerate it. I think I would throw…
  • Mr. Smart Azz you do you think you are? What degree do you have in Medicine? What makes you such an expert? Cause you came on some forum and lost some weight? If you think that you really are a dumb azz! Charts, math, etc. is that to make you think you are smarter than everyone else. Why don't you grow up and act like a…
  • Anyone with any good sense should know to ask their Dr. and not someone on a forum for advice.
  • Please do yourself a favor and ask your Doctor!!!! When I asked mine, all (3) of them the answer was "NO!" They had reasons like I am a diabetic. Other type of diseases, age, weight, height, etc. Therefore I eat what my Int. Med. Dr. told me to eat. Which is the opposite of what MFP and others on here tell people to do.…
  • If you have a question about taking any type of pill over the counter or prescription TALK to your Doctor! That is what I do. Most of the time when I bring up something a Trainer says he laughs. That goes for the ones on here also! Don't trust anything the "FDA" says either!!! My word, the US is full of drugs the FDA…
  • I would have done the same thing. A Lady I would not have been! lol
  • Oh honey, I feel your pain. I was a Navy Wife for 26 yrs. My Hubby is now retired from the Navy. So I have many, many, many deployments under my rear end. We married he left 2 weeks later. He has missed so many Christmas's, Birthday's, Easter and yes everything else. Listen I am gonna sound harsh but I do not mean to. My…
  • Nope I only use MFP because it is easier to log and look up Nutrional Facts than using paper and books. I use what my Dr's. advised me to eat, calories, carbs, fat and protein. I would NEVER take the advice from a stranger or non health care professional on some forum over what my Health Care Professionals instruct me to…
  • Proud of you for going to a Professional and asking for correct information based upon YOUR body. Not every Diabetic is the same either. I am also a full blown Diabetic and have been for most of my adult life. My Internal Med. Dr., my Cardo Dr., my Endo Dr. and my Registered Dietitian ALL gave me the same advice. Eat 5…
  • Rice, rice, rice and yes even more rice. And of course the imfamous potatoes (any kind cooked any way)!
  • Food is not my friend also. I never really was interested in food until I reached my late 40's. I never weighed over 100 lbs until then. Never had time to just sit and enjoy food. Wow, then all of a sudden I found time in my life to enjoy a Dinner. I found myself actually sitting down and eating. Then I found that I really…
  • The best thing and the most intelligent thing a person can do before starting or making a decision to try a diet is ask YOUR DOCTOR!!!!!! I wish people would stop giving out advice as to whether or not a diet is good or not based upon your own personal experience. My Endo. Dr. set my Carbs, cals, and fat. As a Diabetic my…
  • Yes, I have been on a Low Carb Diet for years. Not because I want to, but, because I HAVE to. I am a Diabetic and it is the only I can live without taking a ton of drugs. I was very opposed to it when my Dr's. said they wanted to change my lifestyle to a low carb diet. At first it seemed like I would not be able to eat…
  • I am certainly no expert or even a Doctor. However, my best friend is a Cardologist. He just attended a Conference on this very issue What was discussed was how high sodium levels are killing people. High rates of heart, high blood pressure, blood vessel diseases, etc. His advice to both me and his wife is to have no more…
  • Does it make a difference? Yes, it makes a hugh difference. Just some of the differences it makes is in the amount of sodium you have on a daily basis. Which can lead to blood vessel problems, water retention and heart problems. It makes a difference in the amount of vitamin's you eat daily. By eating fresh foods versus…
  • Water is the way to go for anyone who hates to sweat, hates exercise and who has bad knees or hips. I do water zumba, water aerobics and water strength training. I have been doing water aerobics for over 20 yrs. It really burns a ton of calories fast if you put forth the effort. You will not feel like it is affecting you.…
  • This lifestyle (Primal/Paleo) is very interesting to me. So today my Hubby and I went to the Bookstore and bought $100.00 worth of books & cookbooks on this life style. I have made my mind up to do it. However, I have a question for you guys that have been living this life style. I noticed in a couple of the cook books I…
  • Oh I had to laugh at this one. Because I NEVER sweat when working out and the weight just falls off. The reason I do not sweat is because I am in the pool swimming 2 hrs. per day. Best exercise there is burns a ton of calories and no sweating.
  • I am also a diabetic and my Dr's. put me on 30 carbs per meal 6 x's a day for a total of 130. Every Diabetic is different also. I have severe damage to my nerves and eyes because of this disease. It is truly hard to live by the limited carb intake that we as diabetics must live on. But it is so worth doing. Diabetes is a…
  • I have three different food & liquid scales. One is for liquid. I weigh and measure everything that goes into my mouth except water. I am a diabetic and without measuring and weighing I would not be able to track the amount of exact carbs that I eat. Since I am only allowed by Dr's. orders to eat 30 carbs per meal it is…
  • The best advice anyone should be giving is check with your DOCTOR!!!! Unless you have M.D. at the end of your name everyone should be a little more careful about giving out personal advice. Your DOCTOR will know how much you should eat or not eat. He/she also knows your body, your health problems, etc. and takes all that…
  • I do water Zumba and it really works. It is a great workout. I am sure doing it out of the pool is just as great.
