Just looking back at this and four years later .... even prouder to say I AM STILL A RUNNER. Slow, sometimes, a bit creaky at other times, but I still run. And I still love it. Hurrah.

I think I may may move to Australia or NZ just for their coffee. If you'll have me.

Hiya California will have lots of restaurants that sell lovely healthy food....(and good wine hmmmmm). Wish I was coming, can you fit me in your suitcase? Seriously, you will be able to get lots of lovely fruit and veg in the supermarkets and when you eat out just ask for dressing on the side or split your food at the…

A lot of helpful advice. I might be tempted by the Galloway method for longer runs as I get quite bored and it's nice to mix it up a bit! Do you do shorter runs with walk breaks too? How do pace the runs?

Thanks x

I try to run 4 days a week. 3 of those days will be 3-4 miles and one longer run (about 6 miles unless I'm training for a half marathon then up to 10-11 miles). My fastest time for a 5k is 29 mins 33 seconds. I would love to get it down to about 28 minutes for the time being, or a sub 1 hr 10k! When I'm doing lots of…

Just wanted to update you all. I completed my first 10K race on Saturday, and am thrilled with my time of 1 hr 31 seconds....(but I'm aiming for 58 minutes next time!). Woohooo.

Incidently I've had the polar one for years and it's been very reliable...and also waterproof if you want to use it in the pool. It's only the basic model, so old they probably don't make it anymore but it's fab and I totally recommend it.

I use a polar one, and it works with all the equipment at the gym which is a bonus.

I've got a chest strap HRM and it says I burn around 140 for level 2. Haven't tested level 3 yet...hoping for more burn!

I think I have to clarify one point, that spanking in the UK means taking the pants down and whacking on the bottom, not a smack on the hand. I'm not defending other punishments either, just talking about spanking. We all can agree to disagree on this one and bring up our kids the way we see fit. Perhaps kids are generally…

It's just what I believe, hey this parenting business is just guess work most of the time. I think that most children misbehave for a reason and usually for attention. Give kids some of your time and you'll be amazed at how well they behave (and how happy they are).
-
Surely if your kids need spanking on a regular basis the "discipline" isn't working? My 2 year old may be too little to reason with, but she's also too little to understand why the person she loves the most is hurting her. There are better ways to discipline your children (in my humble opinion).
-
I'm a mother of two and have never spanked my kids. They are lovely, well mannered and respectful. I think kids learn by example and should never be demeaned or humiliated in this (or any) way.

OOo where in the UK? Can I come and be a taste tester? Seriously, I recently went to a restaurant in Orlando, called Seasons 52, where nothing on the menu is over 475 calories! And the food was amazing. Google it, you can see the menu on line and it may give you some inspiration!

Hello from hampshire!

I used to have it too. Had to buy some decent everyday shoes (no high heels) and would put inserts into my shoes. Also stretches as mentioned before. When I bought running shoes I went to a proper shop where they video your run style and recommend specific inserts and what shoes to get. Mines gone now, so it can get better!

Sounds good...thanks for all the advice.
