Great thread. I am only jealous of myself, circa 1999. And Christina Hendricks.

Nice opening post! I'm married to a balding chubby father of 1, but we do love our sports. Particular college basketball, football, and pro hockey. We live in NC.

I just don't watch it. One of our goals in 2013 is to pare down how much TV we watch. So we're cutting cable after March Madness and giving ourselves incentive to go outside and play.

I started today, LOL, after watching "Hungry for Change" this weekend. I have a regular cheap blender, so right now I'm just blending for a REALLY long time and then suffering the chunks. You can see on my diary what I put in there today. I did have to add a little liquid so I opted for water. If it's something I continue…

I'm not big on condiments in general. Mayo and ketchup are disgusting. Mustard is the only one I LOVE, which is good b/c it has more anti-oxidant properties. Also, we stopped buying salad dressing b/c we never used it by expiry, so we make our own with EVOO and balsamic vinegar and whatever citrus we have around.

Can we be friends? Both of you? I get the fatty solidarity...I went walking in my neighborhood the other night and all I could think about was a post I read on here where someone was walking trying to lose weight and some people passed her and yelled out "you should be RUNNING, fatty". I normally don't give a crap what…

Oooohhh, yeah...bulky is bad. Definitely bad. And I say make sure to follow with a Sugar Free RedBull chaser...gotta keep that energy up.

Can't freaking stand Rascall Flatts, esp. the lead singer. I want to punch him bt his beady eyes. However, I'm willing to concede that my love of bluegrass music and honoring my Southern girl roots makes me not turn the radio when I hear "Banjo".

I definitely do this! I have found that for some reason, fruit keeps me fullest for the longest. So I try to make a big bowl of mixed fresh fruit on Sun/Mon for the week, or keep clementines and strawberries at work. If I eat some right after lunch, I stay full until dinner and I find that I don't get my 3PM "sweets"…

@Zeraus: Nev from the Catfish show/movie

I'm another one that just grew up going to pick-your-own farms, farmers markets, working in my grandma's garden, etc. so I've always loved most veggies, but all I can say is keep trying them different ways. Some studies say that for a child developing it's taste, it can take up to 20 rejections before they learn to like…

Tomorrow: continue celebrating our new 50" TV by watching STate beat Duke and FSU beat Carolina. Cook chicken cordon bleu. Spend time outside. Try not to drink too much. That's about all I got.

I'm only on page 3. Have we discussed yet how a Mexican witha Russian name is living in Germany? I'm fascinated. This is my favorite thread ever.

Good advice.

This might be my favorite comment EVER on MFP!

Yeah, if this is a real post, listen to this. The only real difference I can think of is that it's more difficult to find unpasteurized dairy/eggs/etc., but for the most part our food here is very safe. Um. I don't know what else to say. Do you have links for all these death&doom stories you've heard?

I agree with those that say look at your calorie intake as a whole. "experts" want you to think you HAVE to eat a certain way to lose weight, but honestly, do what works for you. It works best for me if I can snack throughout the day and (hopefully) eat lower calorie "big" meals. (My diary does not reflect this the past 3…

No starving! Eat a reasonable dinner and get as much activity as you can...maybe do a deep clean of the kitchen and bathroom tonight, do some pushups/situps/etc. after the kids are in bed. Just know you aren't going to meet your day and that's OK...you'll be back on it tomorrow. I did the same thing yesterday due to not…

I haven't found coconut flour yet, but I love almond cookies so I am trying it with almond flour. It's ungodly expensive, but Bob's Red Mill makes it for 9.99. I figure it will last a while if I have one or two a week, right?

When my son was about 1 week old. We had been trying to take "cute" pics of him, and he errupted into this bawl, and I made a kind of "frazzled new mom" face and my husband thought it was hilarious. Still one of my fave pics. That little bugger is 3.5 years old now!

Then you didn't drink as much as you think. ;) My New Year's hangover cure was waffle house, but that wouldn't be very helpful to you today!

This looks delicious! And perfect for a late night sweet craving.

Last night I was watching Duke-Davidson. Usually though I just listen to music. Mostly the Foo Fighters or similar.

I like the Kashi and Amy's meals. I think Amy's makes a verde enchilada that gives me the most bang for my buck. I also love the swiss chard and polenta one...it is surprisingly filling and lower sodium for the calorie intake.

Beer.

I'm starting slow with the no drinking. One alcoholic beverage per week for the month of January. After that, I will re-eval whether I want to continue with my one a week or whether I can add 2-3 a week. I just have a big goal for January, and I dink way too many of my calories in wine and craft beer.

Awesome...I did not do as well as I wanted in 2012, so I'm starting a different approach this year and I hope that cutting out most processed foods and white carbs will help me as well!

Sorry, I don't think I was clear! The doctor told me to wait two weeks, and it's been 2.5.
