I bought soy nuts from my grocery in the bulk food section. They offer unsalted, salted, and honey versions and I do a 1/1/1 mixture of the 3. They are a lot higher in protein than nuts. I use it to bulk up my protein, as well as greek yogurt and sometimes protein bars/shakes.

I find weight loss stalls to often be related to sodium. I don't know how your normal sodium intake is, but usually a VERY low sodium day helps me drop the water weight that may have been masking loss (like as low as you can get it... ~800-1000 mg would be best). Your body needs some sodium, but for most people your…

I've also made a couple things from skinnykitchen.com (greek chicken w roasted potatoes and also some lasagna ole) but you have to watch as her recipes will be high in sodium sometimes.

My boyfriend has loved everything I've made for him from skinnytaste.com - Gina does a good job of making recipes healthy without using fake ingredients like splenda, etc and her recipes are easier/cheaper ingredients than those on cleaneatingmag.com and eatingwell.com

according to an older thread, looks like about a cup. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/191047-how-many-cups-cup-is-2-oz-of-pasta

One thing I forgot to mention before on the news feed... The WearLink strap that comes with the Polar watches these days is CRAP! Both my boyfriend and I have had problems with it quitting working after 2-4 months of use. It is nice because it's more comfortable and you can change the battery yourself -- if it worked it…

I'm 25 and looking to lose about 25 lbs... I am pretty good about logging most days and my diary is open! Feel free to add me if you'd like! Jessica

A cursory look shows that in 2009 it was discovered that there was a link between the level of vitamin D in a person's system at the beginning of a weight loss program and their total loss over the course of the study: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/releases/153669.php Then in 2010 another study came out that showed that…

Actually sometimes nightmares can be caused by an allergy... I knew someone growing up who was allergic to Red#40 (one of the food colorings used in a lot of candies and things) and he had terrible nightmares whenever he had something with that in it. I saw a previous poster had mentioned gluten... also might have been an…

Oops! I'm behind! Tuesday I had an abs class where we did 30 sec high plank, 30 sec side plank, 30 sec high plank, 30 sec other side plank, 30 sec high plank. I haven't done any since :( I have some catching up to do! 8.5/60

Yes, this reply was quite wrong... First of all, children need tons of calories 3000-4000 while they are growing so it's sort of wrong to say you're eating like a child by eating less than MFP guidelines. Secondly, as many people have pointed out here, continuously eating less than your body needs causes your body to…

Ditto!

Yeah I agree with a previous poster... nuts are not a good source of protein, sorry. They are delicious and healthy but not going to up your protein very much. I do get some protein from shakes (2 shakes a day... 24g each shake and we buy the 10lb bags of Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard protein powder and mix with water.…

Days 2 and 3 down! Yesterday I did 2 minutes of high planks on the Bosu Trainer at the gym and today I did two minutes of high planks... 1 min hold, 30 sec rest, 1 min hold. 6/60 :) Keep up the good work everyone!
-
I did 2 minutes yesterday and my boyfriend joined me! 2 sets of 45 and 1 set of 30! I need to work up to longer sets! So I'm at 2/60. Good job so far everyone!

Thank your for this link, very interesting study.

I do weigh my portions for calorie dense items like peanut butter, salad dressing, meat, potatoes, etc. Also a food scale is awesome for recipes because you can weigh out the stuff instead of measuring. Examples - a cup of flour weighs 120g. Very helpful. Also a cup of blueberries is 140g. Things like that make it easy to…

Seriously. I do the Crock Pot Santa Fe Chicken pretty regularly. She has some other ones too. I've made probably 30 of her recipes and they have all been fantastic.

Fish sticks!!! I use this EatingWell recipe and they come out so yummy! http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/eatingwell_fish_sticks.html

Yes, this is what I was going to say. Hate this. Even worse, personal trainers who sit around a table and make fun of people working out. Yes, it happens. Frequently. Wonder why they have so much free time?

This one... I think it's called "sex in a pan" -- something like this http://allrecipes.com/recipe/sex-in-a-pan-ii/ My boyfriend's mom made it once. Amazing. Sounds like you can lighten it up pretty easily too like the other poster said.

Ditto, but I am on the pill. Usually it is a gain of 2-3 lbs but as much as 5 is not uncommon. Edited to add.. Usually I lose all of the gain by the last day of my period plus a little more as long as I've been good!!

My reply finally came! It was "Dancing? Dirty Dancing? ;)" Love that guy. And dancing, by the way.
-
Still awaiting a response from the boyfriend. He's not a dancer though, so I don't suppose it'll be a yes.
-
I made these this weekend too!! So delicious! Got high reviews from the profs and students in my department as well as my boyfriend's family! YUM!
-
I think as long as you consistently do it one way or the other it will be fine. Your body doesn't really care what time you ate it; it's just for your own tracking!! :)
-
I actually adjusted my food goals to favor more protein and less carbs. Not a lot less, but I find that if I have more protein and less carbs I am actually fuller throughout the day. Everyone is different though.
-
Yeah I got confused too. You got the message though, right? Pot? Kettle? ;)

Wait, aren't you making a post to complain about what people post... complaining about... what other people post? Seriously though, it's the internet. People are going to be jerks because they can.
