Working on hill repeats will increase your speed and indurance too. Run up the hill, turn and slowly jog or walk back down (to catch your breath!), then run back up, repeat, repeat, repeat, etc! Keep your arms moving, as your feet will follow!

Cross trained today at the gym - bike and eliptical for 13 miles!

Ran 5 miles this afternoon! Finally, I got to run in the sunshine.....and a short sleeve dryfit! !!! Yay! :bigsmile: I was so excited! It's been rain and overcast for weeks! It was a pleasant surprise!

Added 16 miles: Friday, ran 5.5 miles. This morning ran 10.5 miles!

Ran 5.25 miles on the treadmill yesterday (YUCK - hate the treadmill!!) and ran 5.25 miles today outside!! Yay!!

Wow! I realized I hadn't updated my ticker or checked in this week! So here are the miles for me, total of 27.25 so far (Tuesday and Thursday, running 5.5 miles, Saturday 6 miles cross training on the bike, eliptical and treadclimber, and 10.25 miles today running!)

4 miles on the dreaded treadmill tonight!! Yahoo!! Sooooo close to meeting my goal. :happy: Hopefully tomorrow, weather willing!

Total of 5.7 miles today (ran 5.4 miles and walked .3 miles). Part of that was running up a long, very steep hill.....against a very strong headwind. Of course the wind died down when I peaked the hill! Whew! That was hard!

Thanks everyone!! This was my first "real" race!! It was so much fun! One month for a 15K - which will be a much tougher course, lots of hills. The last 2 miles are all down hill, on a fairly steep grade. I'm scared already! :noway:
