  • Same problem here. Lost about 30 lbs and now I look good so I'm not feeling pressure to lose anymore. Combine that with all my friends and family telling me I look great and I've just fallen off the wagon. I want to lose 15-20 more lbs. I'm also exercising a ton more now so I'm not really gaining even though I'm eating…
  • I give blood every 56 days and have read that is the equivalent of about 650 calories. So you can eat/drink that much more the day you give blood. Good job donating!!
  • Good for you!! It's an incredible challenge. I did the PA one on April 9th. My advice is bring water and fuel with you. It took us over 5 hours to finish and we were hungry and cramping and dehydrated. Other than that just have fun and know you can finish. It's as much mental as physical.
  • Looking Good!
  • I started seriously trying in the first week of Feb. To date I've lost about 33 pounds. There were a few weeks or days in there when I did badly and overate but I just kept at it the next day. No biggie, I just think to myself, "it took a six or seven years time to gain all the weight so losing it in six months is a great…
  • wow! two pages of compliments! I must be looking good!!
  • Awww Thanks!! You guys are all so nice!!
  • Thanks for the help lina! How did you do it? (so i can do it myself next time)
  • This is a copy of something I posted before and its meant for all those who are discouraged with their short-term weight loss: "Yeah, keep it up. Weight loss is not linear. I was 212 lbs. 35 days ago but I lost the most weight in the first two weeks (12 lbs.). Then the next 3 weeks my scale stayed at 201! For THREE weeks…
  • She looks EXACTLY like the girl who works at my Price Chopper in North Syracuse. So much so that I want to know if that is actually her!
  • I just got home today and got a Men's Health magazine and it said that 3 hours of continuous jumping on a trampoline would burn 890 calories!! Such a coincidence that this would be in the magazine and that I would get the magazine today!
  • Great job! You are gonna be successful at this.
  • I have the same question about soup and I just do what Jenks says. I have tried to figure it out by getting the calorie info for just chicken broth and subtracting that amount that I don't eat but its too convoluted to figure out for everything.
  • YES! That was it. thanks so much for helping me. I tried searching for spaghetti but it didn't come up.
  • Yeah, keep it up. Weight loss is not linear. I was 212 lbs. 35 days ago but I lost the most weight in the first two weeks (12 lbs.). Then the next 3 weeks my scale stayed at 201! For THREE weeks of staying under my calories! This morning I weighed 197 for a total of 15 pounds in five weeks. But I DID NOT lose 3 pounds each…
  • Thanks everyone!
  • I hear ya girlie! I have been stuck at 201 for three weeks now even though I am sticking to my calories!! People on here gave me the advice to up my calories a bit to "shock" my metabolism into burning fat again. I guess if your are deficit too many calories your body will lower its basal metabolic rate (BMR-the amount of…
  • Thanks for the help all. I think I agree with most of you. I know cardio is not as much muscle breakdown as strength training, but it must breakdown some muscle otherwise you wouldn't feel sore, right? So a little shot of protein can't be harmful.
  • I just wanted to add that although the scale hasn't moved in a couple weeks, I am fitting into some of my pants that didn't fit a few weeks ago and some people at work just complemented me and said I looked like I was losing weight. So even though my weight hasn't changed my waistline is getting smaller so I must be losing…
  • Does anybody know what starvation mode really is? Or have any links where I could read about it? I hear it talked about all the time but never hear any real facts about it. Are there any other signs your in it? I haven't lost any energy or anything. I still feel good and sleep good and am not tired or anything.
  • I just looked at/recalculated my goals here and it says for two pounds a week I should be eating 1400 calories a day. I haven't updated my goals since I signed up on my fitness pal like two years ago and I thought the 1200 calories was the setting for two pounds a week but I guess that has been wrong all this time. I must…
  • Thanks for the tips everyone. I usually eat more than 1200 a day probably like 1300, but I will try a week or two of eating at a one pound a week loss rate. That would bring my calories up too 1900 a day. (that'll be like a feast!). Maybe I'll split the difference and eat 1500. Eric, Thanks for that tip about gym calories.…
  • I've lost 17 lbs
  • N. Syracuse, NY
  • Good luck. You can do it. I started six weeks ago and I have lost 16 pounds already. This counting calories thing really works so keep at it.
  • 9/24/07 - 205 10/8/07 - 196 11/1/07 - 191 Good job to everyone!!
  • Don't worry about it. Dieting isn't all or nothing. It's a lifestyle change. Just by thinking about it you are way ahead of a lot of other people. Getting off track doesn't mean you are off for good, just get back on and keep going! Your not "blowing it," your just human. In fact you can look at it as a success because you…
  • 9/24/07 - 205 10/8/07 - 196 YAY!! I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW GOOD THIS WORKS. I NEVER TRIED COUNTING CALORIES BEFORE.
