When they give the calorie count for fruit in a jar in light syrup, does that include the syrup or just the fruit? My instincts tell me it includes the syrup? Right or wrong? I don't eat the syrupy part...

i would say it includes what the fruit has absorbed of the syrup....so i would still count it even if you dont drink the syrup...

I would imagine it's what's in the container. Personally I would log it as it's listed, and if I don't drink the syrup, I'm a little ahead of the game.

I have the same question about soup and I just do what Jenks says. I have tried to figure it out by getting the calorie info for just chicken broth and subtracting that amount that I don't eat but its too convoluted to figure out for everything.

It includes the syrup, but I agree with most eveyone else, count what is listed on the package, you can't go wrong with that!!

Like 3/4ths of the jar is full of syrup after I eat the fruit out of it...i'll make a good guess..
