  • Wow, what a story of inspiration! You are awesome! I definitely identify with not being able to stand on tip toes - that's actually the main part of my problem. I've had bits of bone and an entire joint removed in my toes, so they don't flex like at all. My balance is shot. I can already tell that I'm landing a bit funny…
  • I'm also the only one standing in my way. I pretended for a long time that my weight was out of my control, but it never was. Let me know how the Premium works out for you! I've never used it. Good luck!
  • I agree with the post above!! Recognizing bad patterns and fixing them right away is so hard, but you've already done it! I lost 20 pounds about 5 years ago and gained 45 back :( Yikes! But I'm back here, with you, and we got this :)
  • Yes! I love your jeans organization!! I have an entire box of "hopefully will fit again someday" clothes. I didn't understand most of the kilo-speak  - Americans, amiright? - but it sounds like you're on the right track already! I can't wait to start seeing some progress like that. Good luck!
  • As I'm reading through people's stories, it seems like divorce is quite the motivating factor  Hey, whatever works, right? I hear you about the comfort thing. I refuse to buy another size up, but the result is that my pants are SUPER uncomfortable. Even my workout clothes are too tight. It's awful. But hey, you are…
  • Wow! You got this for sure! You've already been so successful  I know what you mean about the medication weight though. That was what actually kept me from trying for years, because I didn't think it would do any good. That's been a hard thing to accept and move past. I know it will be harder, but I need to still…
  • I also had an injury that's kept me from doing the workouts I used to be able to do. I recently just discovered pilates on the reformer. It's so wonderful! Low impact and stress-relieving too. Have you tried it? I don't notice my injury at all in that class. Best of luck to you! I know we can do it again :)
  • Ugh, I hate those comments from people who don't believe I weigh that much! Yes, I do. Or, if I don't, will someone tell the scale that? I know that I personally don't "carry it well." I have a small frame, so any extra weight shows up very quickly. I wish I could carry it well. If I did, I'd probably rock it and not worry…
  • My petty reason: My husband and I separated a few months ago. I don't really care what he thinks (or at least I'm trying not to), but I would LOVE to be able to call him up to ask him if I can pick up the box of too-small clothes I left behind. At the time, I just didn't want another box to move. Now it would be fantastic…
  • THIS! For so long I thought I could lose weight with either just diet or just exercising, but I didn't want to do both. It wasn't until I got consistent with both exercise and calorie control that I started seeing changes. Also, fluctuations are normal. I'm one of those weird people that weighs myself every day so I see…
  • To be perfectly honest, I think that EMTLW does work in theory, but I think the calculators they use have too much room for error. Even being conservative with my activity level, most calculators said I was burning somewhere around 2100 calories a day. When I finally got a Fitbit, it was estimating closer to 1900 on…
  • Just wanted to thank you all for your kind responses!! I was feeling like I was slipping off the healthy wagon, but reading all these nice comments has re-committed me to maintenance. Love this community and all it's amazing members!
  • Yes! I am so happy my story was able to help. I love this whole MFP community and many others helped me along the way. Keep with it!
  • I think I tried it for about a month. I'm sure the people over on those boards would say I didn't give it enough time and I probably didn't. But when you have such slow progress anyway and then it stops, well, it's hard to keep going indefinitely. I think it probably works really well for some people, it just didn't for me.
  • Same here! It felt like I gained the weight overnight!! I'm sure there's a difference on you. It seriously wasn't until my husband put this side-by-side together that it actually hit me. Look at some old pictures...it helps :)
  • Thanks! And I love your ticker background! HTTR
  • Thanks :) Yeah, and that 1/2 pound a week was just an average! Does your weight swing wildly like mine? I'm wondering if that's common for people with less to lose. Even now I weigh in anywhere between 122 and 125 and it can change by that much overnight. So frustrating....
  • That's so sweet! Thank you :blushing: My calorie intake varied a LOT. I started out at 1200, found out that was way too low, went in the opposite direction and started doing 1800 with the whole "eat more to lose weight" thing. That didn't work either. Grrr... Finally I got the Fitbit and used that to find out what my…
  • Thank you! No meal plan, per se. I like variety too much! :) At one of my plateaus, I switched my macros to 40/30/30 protein/fat/carbs and try to stick to that as closely as possible. That seemed to help the scale move again so I've stuck with it.
  • Thanks for the nice comments!! I completely agree that another one of the harder things about a small amount of weight to lose is the comments from others about how you shouldn't or don't need to lose weight. Another one I've heard lately is that I'm "wasting away" as if I've lost too much. It can be discouraging, but I'm…
  • How much exercise experience do you currently have? I feel like BR is a good place to start for beginners because you'll be using lighter weights and getting a good idea about form. There's a LOT more cardio in BR. But if you've been working out for awhile and already have a good solid understanding, maybe it's time to…
  • I washed and dried my jeans last night. Normally it takes Olympic strength to get them back on after a wash (and then some squats to stretch them out enough to move in). They slid right on this morning with no problems. That was awesome.
  • This happened to me and I got myself so frustrated, feeling like I was doing everything absolutely right without any results. Here's what ended up working for me: 1) It's been said before on here, but a food scale is a must. I was measuring out my food using cups and spoons, but I was shocked how different the amounts…
  • I use both and don't find it to be too much work. I got myself really frustrated by all the different calorie calculators out there (TDEE-20%, etc) that kept giving me different numbers. I mean, what exactly is the difference between light and moderate exercise??? Anyway, wearing the Fitbit for daily activity and the HRM…
  • I wish I knew! As I get closer to my goal weight a little voice in my head keeps saying "why not keep going?" At this point it's become habit for me, so it wouldn't be hard, but I'm also worried that my progress would slow to a halt and I'd get frustrated. It's so hard to say when to stop, because even though you've come…
  • I'm guilty of asking people who've lost weight this question and I think it's really just not worded properly. The question shouldn't be "how did you do it?" but "what worked for you?" because that's what they want to know. We all know that you have to eat less and move more, but there are literally endless ways to do that…
  • Have you tried a foam roller? Not sure how bad your calf injury is, but if you are able to, the roller works wonders for relaxing sore muscles. They are made of a dense foam and can be purchased at sporting goods stores. I've also found that even if I feel really sore, a good warm up will loosen things up enough to be able…
  • First: You look awesome. Great job!! And Happy Birthday  Second: You mentioned that you had to stick to your macros. Just out of curiosity, what do you have them set at? I've recently started paying a lot more attention to my macros and the scale is finally moving again. I'm always interested in what worked for…
  • This is so awesome. I needed to see this today. I just wrapped up Jillian Michaels Body Revolution, which was some lifting, but certainly not heavy. I started lifting heavy on Monday using ChaLEAN Extreme and I've been terrified to step on the scale this week. After seeing your success though, I will not let it bother me…
