1/1/15 Just for today I will try very hard to stay under my calorie goal!

I am the same way. I have no trouble, usually until the evening. I find that if I eat more protein during the day, I'm not ravenous at dinner time. I usually have a 100 calorie, 15 gram protein shake before dinner. I try to eat vegetables with a lot of fiber and I drink a lot of water--a gallon a day. I also agree with the…

What I keyed in on what you said is that you feel deprived a lot of the time. My first question to you is what is causing you to feel deprived? Are you hungry? Then, for me ways that I stay feeling full is to make sure I am eating plenty of protein and drinking lots of water. Are you focusing on what you cannot eat or are…

I would look at what the types of fruit you're eating is doing to your overall sugar intake. I have to be careful with my sugar and I ate a cup of grapes one day and it out me over the top of sugar. Berries are best. This might be TMI, but I would think if you're getting diarrhea, you're overdoing it on the fruit. Try…

I know for me protein is essential for me to feel full enough. Like others have already said, soy based protein, edamame is yummy, I use protein shakes and they have 15 grams of protein. I am getting mine from a medically supervised weight loss program I am on right now, but I have also bought them online.

Hello!! You know how when you set up your account you can out in how much you want to lose per week? My first piece of advice is to make sure that it is realistic and slow. You do not want to lose weight too quickly, or you will end up slowing your metabolism down because your body will think it is starving. Then you are…

The program I'm on requires that I drink a gallon of water a day. Sometimes I drink the water plain and sometimes I put sugar free flavoring in it and I count it all!!! A gallon sounded like an awful lot at first but I get started right after my morning coffee, it helps fill me up in the afternoon when I feel hungry and I…

I agree with BigSoul...I love the suggestion to ask, "What am I trying not to feel?" I definitely need to use this. I also have the problem of my emotions becoming muddy making it difficult to figure out exactly what is bothering me. Thank you for sharing this!!

Here's the book I was thinking of....Intuitive Eating... http://www.amazon.com/Intuitive-Eating-Evelyn-Tribole-ebook/dp/B006ZL3P4G/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1407879726&sr=8-9&keywords=eating+mindfully

First of all I just want to say....wow...you have a lot of insight for being as young as you are. I wish I had had that kind of insight at your age and then maybe I wouldn't be here 30+ years down the road from you still battling the same demons. Today I had an incident in which I yelled at my daughter and then felt badly…

Yep--I have Binge Eating Disorder as well and it seems the smallest thing sets me off. Today I had a bad episode with my daughter who didn't want to mind and it sent me into a rage, then extreme guilt for being such a horrible mother, then wanting to kill myself because what's the use, I'll never kick this, to back home to…

I cannot help you with using Grapefruit in a smoothie. I would never use grapefruit in a smoothie. When I use vegetables in my juicer, I like to add carrot, green stuff and an apple for a little sweetness. The carrots are also sweet. Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE red ruby grapefruit, but I prefer to eat it whole.

I totally get what you're saying. Nights are the worst for me too!! Something about being anonymous. I have a couple of things that have helped me in the past.. Set a time (or a meal) after which the kitchen is closed. Clean it up and make it off limits for the rest of the night. A thin friend of mine recommended that some…

OK--So I have NOT gone through what you are experiencing, but I do have a few comments. I was going through old photographs the other day and I noticed that in the photos where I was younger, I thought to myself, gee, I looked pretty good back then. However, I remembered how I felt about myself and I have never in my life…

Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply! When I talked to my psychiatrist yesterday he recommended that I re-start cognitive therapy, so I am going to follow through with that. I am also a Christian and I have been reading the bible and praying as much as I can. My mind has been slipping into very negative thinking…

Cleaned the bathtub, 7 year old got bath, now it's lunch time, then off for clothing shopping....she's REALLY picky....did I mention that?

First of all...I LOVE your profile picture and the sentiment is so true. One good book that I recommend is called Feeling Good by David Burns....there are a lot of practical exercises to use to help stop the negative thinking. The other book I really like and highly recommend is called The Mindful Way through Anxiety.…

More fiber through vegetables and legumes? Those can also help fill you up. Even a fiber supplement might help if you track you fiber intake and see that you need more.

I know what you mean...I guess we have to remember that it's all subjective. We all feel differently in our bodies.

I'm reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.

In SC a lot of natives to the state use the word, "cent" to refer to multiple cents. This drives me nuts. It;s one cent and everything else is cents. Make sense!?! :noway:

I'm not sure what NSV stands for but I have an idea based on the posts. I am fitting into clothing one size smaller and am becoming increasingly aware of how my over-eating is triggered by negative mood states. I am attempting to use this website as an outlet instead of eating.

I personally have wondered what it would be like to be thin and beautiful with a sense of resignation that this would never be me. I am determined to lose my weight this time (I'm still losing the same 30 pounds I've lost and regained over and over again) and quite frankly at age 52 I am concerned about looking older (more…
