  • You look absolutely amazing! All of your hard work is paying off and the last pounds will be where you see the most drastic difference (just look at how much of a change the past 20 lbs has shown)! Great job, Jimielou, you've earned it!
  • Congratulations! That is amazing :)
  • Eating more at the beginning of the day helps me stay full. One of my go to breakfasts consists of 3 egg whites, 1/3 cup turkey sausage crumbles, salsa, and either a tortilla or piece of toast. Protein will keep you full longer - try to eat it every 3 hours. Honestly though, I was more hungry the first few weeks too. I…
  • My husband and I have an understanding that I'll be ready to start trying for a baby after I reach my goal weight too! It's really important to me that my body is as healthy as possible before I become an incubator :) I have about 30 more pounds to lose, so we'll probably start trying Summer 2012. All of the things you…
  • Stay away from things that are deep fried - like sweet and sour chicken or sesame chicken. Noodles are also not a good option unless you're measuring how much you eat. I usually go with chicken/shrimp/beef with broccoli or moo shu pork with 1/2 cup of steamed rice. 800 calories is more than enough! Just try not to add much…
  • You did THAT in 6 months?? Holy crap, you look amazing! Keep it up!
  • Thanks everyone! I tried it today and loved it!! The best part is, I think it's a perfect class for my husband and I to do together :)
  • I might call and ask if I can do a free trial. Their website just says that I can pay $8 to use the facilities for a day.
  • Sorry guys - my computer froze and it looks like I posted this twice!
  • Eat a snack between 3 and 4 o'clock! If you're not eating between lunch and dinner time (5-6 hours), you're going to slow down your metabolism. Your body needs protein every 3 hours.
  • Congrats! It looks like you're losing the weight in all the right places :)
  • I work for a large company and they provide a fitness coach to give out advice on a company-wide level, while also answering individual questions. When I hit my plateau, she told me to increase my protein to 100 grams per day (eating 20 grams every 3 hours) and to focus on weight training at least 3 days a week. Once I…
  • Thanks, everyone! I can't wait until I get to my ultimate goal too :)
  • It looks to me like you're not eating enough carbs. I usually get like this when I'm having a low carb day. Try eating some wheat toast/brown rice/oatmeal.
  • Try eating back your exercise calories if you're not already. I stopped losing when my deficit was too high!
  • This happened to me between 10 - 12 pounds lost! Up your protein, add weight training (heavier weights if you're already doing some already), and just be patient.
  • I've always had super flat feet - so running is not something I can do well. Even when I was in first grade (without a weight problem), I was the slowest kid in the class! It's not really a big loss for me now though. There are plenty of other things I can do - but you won't ever see me at a 5k!
  • I did the 30DS everyday for a month, but now I use Jillian's other dvd Ripped in 30 for strength training when I don't have a chance to go to the gym. When using the video, I make sure to use heavier weights and focus more on the non-cardio moves. So my week looks like this - 3 days of cardio (every other day), 3 days of…
  • I like to eat lean meats - so I usually look for chicken/turkey/fish that is grilled or roasted. Broccoli and edamame are my vegetables of choice - so I eat alot of those. However, I think the nutritional information is always a little more important. What's worked best for me is increasing my protein (to about 100 grams a…
  • Congrats! I've heard that you don't want to overheat during pregnancy - so they advise you keep your heart rate under a certain amount during exercise. But I would just ask your doctor and do some research. www.babycenter.com has a wealth of information. I hope you have an amazing and healthy pregnancy!
  • If you are using the calorie amounts that the workout machine is giving you, then yes, you are over-estimating your calorie burn. Machines normally estimate those calories based on what an average male would burn. Small to average size women will burn much less doing the same amount of work. For instance, before I bought…
  • I have a few odd things (other than my clothes fitting baggier): 1. My hair is shinier and less prone to get greasy at the end of the day. 2. My skin has cleared up. 3. My eyeglasses are fitting loose. 4. There seems to be wiggle room in the back of my high heels. 5. My plantar fasciitis is gone. 6. Guys open doors/hold…
  • You probably overdid it today with the Mars Bars ;) But that's okay! If you go over today, you can make up for it tomorrow. Just make sure you DO make up for it! It's okay to eat treats as long as you're keeping the portions small. For instance, I really wanted something sweet the other day so I got a KitKat bar and ate…
  • With some trial and error, I've found that when I don't eat my exercise calories back - I don't lose weight! So eat them all back. Last week was the first week I let myself go slightly over my net calories and I lost more than I ever have in one week (2.4 lbs). I also don't count every bit of activity I do as calorie…
  • I have this problem when there are sweets around. If there is cake around me, I need to have some! However, instead of serving myself a piece, I'll take a couple of small bites from my husband's plate! He's alot taller than me and doesn't have weight problems, so he can eat some of the bad stuff and still get away with it!…
  • Doesn't it ring a bell for anyone how we've all had a soda addiction AND we're all on a weight loss website?? When I go to a restaurant, 9 out of 10 of the people ordering pop are overweight. It's not a coincidence - soda makes you fat! You have to be ready to quit for it to work. You have to be sick and tired of the belly…
  • I had pretty bad plantar fasciitis when I started working out again - but it's mostly gone now. What helped me the most was buying a brace at Target that I wore to sleep after I'd spent a good amount of time on my feet. It essentially holds your foot in a stretched position all night long. Here is a link to the one I…
  • I got the advice from our health coach at work - who just happens to be an ex-body builder. Not that I'm trying to bulk up! But the added muscle will increase my metabolism. The caffeine is for energy (i could probably go without it since I don't drink any caffeinated drinks right now). And the amino acids are supposed to…
  • This is what my health coach told me: Cardio does not build muscle or increase your metabolic rate. Cardio is important to maintain a healthy heart and to burn fat. Weight training is what creates firm tone muscle and speeds up the metabolism. More muscle leads to firmness instead of flabbiness; gives you a greater…
  • I would suggest the 30 day shred video. It took me a few extra days to get through the first part because I was so sore, but once I finished my 30 days I was much stronger and noticeably leaner. We have a "Health Coach" through work and she recommended that I add 3 days of weight training to my normal cardio workouts. Once…
