High Sodium Food
How many days does it take to flush out a high sodium dinner assuming the next day is started and continues with a higher volume then normal of water consumption? Does fasting the next day help speed up the flushing out of the sodium? Thank You!!!!

MFP Glitch?
I have been pretty routine about entering my morning weights in the "Check-In" weight part of MFP. I have had three days of gradual weight gain and did not enter the daily weights, but planned on entering them later. This morning I see that MFP automatically continued to add my last actual check in weight (that I entered…

Profile Page Set Up
If I input '5 workouts per week', '60 minutes per workout', and 'lightly active', then during my day and week, as I exercise, do I only add exercises that EXCEED these profile page inputs? I am trying to really understand what should be added as exercise in order to see if there are calories that I can 'eat back' over my…

bpetrosky or anyone else
bpetrosky, I understand you might be an expert at the following that happened to me this morning. However, in case you aren't, I am asking for anyone's help in answering the following dilemma: This morning I have a sudden searing pain in my shoulder. In googling this I think it might be one of three things. 1) it was all…

Telling where we really are
It does not seem like weighing first thing in the morning is a way to really see where our weight is, but it is consistently the best way to keep track of progress or lack of. When people fast, is that a better way to tell, since the body has more of a chance to be fully flushed of all sodium and most waste?

lag time
If someone has been pretty good at CICO for 8 weeks (i.e., got the initial weight loss out of the way, body is now used to lower caloric intake and exercise) and this someone has been consistent with their aerobic and weight room work (free weights/machines), I am curious as to the following, or is there TRULY no answer…

Andouille Sausage, okra and Duck Gumbo
Would this be considered high in sodium? I did not see it listed with sodium content when I entered it, it showed -0- under sodium but this was not an MFP entered food item. My wife cooked a huge pot of it two days ago and we have been eating a lot of it. Last night was the first time I added white rice. I have counted…

What happened to this last week?
I went from 195 on the 19th to 199 this morning. I am wondering how much of these 4 pounds is mostly weight that will go away starting today with my counting calories and working out starting over again? With family in town and the Christmas family gathering at our house, there was no time to work out and a lot of really…

Is there a way to see all my daily weigh ins from 2013 to present? I currently can only go back 1 year in MFP.

When do you notice belly fat and jowels fat loss?
How long does it take you to show the fat around the waist to start going down as well as jowels (chubby cheeks)? Those are the two areas I accumulate fat when I gain weight. I started at 203 on Oct 29th, this morning weighed in at 195. I know the first week is mostly water weight (for sure with me since I ate crap for…

Carb Fat Protein Ration
MFP Defaulted me to C-50 F-30 P-20. Close enough? I am 55, 197, goal of 184, started at 203 on Oct 30th. Walk for aerobic exercise daily, basic weight lifting routine every other day. Active lifestyle (sales for work, don't sit or lay around much).

Am I adding muscle or not in a deficit?
I have yet to be able to understand this so I am throwing it out for you people who know the answer to tell me. I will tell you what I am doing. I was at 203 on Oct 30th, this morning am at 196. I set MFP calories to lose 1# per week but if I can lose between .01 to a pound (anywhere in between) is fine. Long and slow this…

Over 50 male question
I am 55, started at 203 10 days ago, now at 197.4 looking to lose up to 1# per week. Anything between 0.001 to 1.0# is excellent. Long and slow this time. I walk almost daily between 2.5-4 miles and average 2-4 weight workouts per week, mostly upper body, mostly dumb bells and barbells with a few machines, pretty much…

Eating Back Calories
This is my 4th run at losing weight on MFP, each time in the past was goal specific and on a time deadline and I did pretty good getting where I needed. This time I am on no time table and want this path to be long and steady. But I want to see if any of you who REALLY know this stuff see any flaws in what I am doing. I am…

Minimum Calories per day
Is there a general rule as to how many calories one "SHOULD" eat each day? I have my daily calorie minimum set on MFP to lose 1# per week with an activity level plugged in. What I don't want to do is go crazy and eat too little, which I am prone to do when setting goals like this. When I work out I plan on eating those…

MFP Macros
I am preset at Carb 50%, Fat 30% and Protein 20%. These are not changeable unless I upgrade and pay, which I might do. Is this an all around good rule to follow 50, 30, 20, or should I pay the piper and be able to change these numbers and my micros? I am assuming Micros that MFP gives me are fine too. I am 55, male, 5'10",…

steamed broccoli
Just ordered grilled chicken and steamed broccoli at Texas Land and Cattle. MFP says broccoli is 388 calories. Just got my plate, the broccoli tastes of garlic and nothing else that could get it to 388 calories. General nutritional info for steamed broccoli is 91 calories for a cup. I just can't believe this is true, even…

Days to lose 5 & 10# Increments
I started this journey on December 26th. It took 4 days to lose 5 pounds, 4 days to lose the next 5 pounds, 17 days to lose the next 5 pounds and 26 days to lose the next 5 pounds. It's now been 30 days for the next 5 pounds and I have 3.8 pounds to get there. The math for 10 pounds lost follows the above. 8 days to lose…

The lesser of two evils
Had a hunger attack last night and could not go to sleep. I had a love fest with my healthy antioxidant trail mix. I usually mix a 1/4 cup with almond peanut butter before bed. Last night it was not enough, and this morning I decided to calculate and plug what I ate to my log. HA!!! It was not pretty. But I DID sleep well.…

Backed into a solution
I have 4 weeks to go to lose a set goal of weight. It's fine if I don't hit it, since I have lost quite a bit so far. I had started feeling frustrated that I had hit a wall, my daily calorie goal kept going down, then I ended up going out of town with my wife for one of her conferences, and just let lose. The appetizers…

Added benefit of having more data
By weighing each morning and evening before bed I have discovered something else that has been helpful. I now know that with over 55+ days of data, my average change in weight from night to morning is 2.6 pounds.
