Tonight - Of all the times to be going to a wild duck cook-off and wine tasting event... I am not sure how one can actually exercise moderation when going to something like this. I think I will call uncle right now and pretend it's tomorrow and I will forget how much I ate tonight....

I've never had duck. I'd probably take a day off dieting so I could taste the different dishes. I'd skip the wine though, as it's not really my thing.

It is best to learn to exercise moderation everywhere rather than giving yourself permission to not exercise moderation at some things. We all fail from time to time, but when you decide you aren't going to exercise moderation at special events you may soon find yourself having "special events" on a regular basis.

Duck was great, ate too much, thanks for the "have fun and fit it into the weekly calories", made good sense. Good thing I don't drink booze or soft drinks. Just my Topo Chico! Lots of calories saved there.
