Spike Diet
I don't like spending too much time reading up on a diet that comes with a brand name, but for whatever reason I'm still curious about the above mentioned plan. Has anyone done this and if so can you tell me where I'm going wrong with the RMR calculations just so I can know once and for all whether I've got it right or…

Possible Training Plan thingy
If anyone accused me of messing about, they'd be right. I feel like I've been looking for a program I want to stick to for a long time now. But the usual plans often offered like SL, SS, All Pro, etc just do not inspire me at all. I was wondering if anyone more knowledgeable than me might offer up comments regarding this…

Cycling and Weights
I've recently started cycling, just as something to do rather than in any great seriousness. I'm usually out for 2-3 hours several times a week and look to be making good progress towards cycling for longer (say the 50-100 mile mark as an immediate aim). Just wondering if anyone else combines cycling with lifting weights…

Stronglifts 5 x 5 question
If during a session you can't gain access to the squat rack, bench press or deadlift area is it acceptable to improvise with an alternative such as dumbbell bench press or smith machine (for example) to complete that session without compromising the results?

Went to buy peanut butter...
from Holland & Barrett, I put the various peanut butter jars on the counter (I buy several at a time) and the two members of staff started off a conversation about coconut flavoured peanut butter and how to stir it properly and it was literally the most positive interaction I've had with anyone for a very long time because…

Carb 'tiredness'
Hi, was suggested I post this here on another forum. The other night I had a bowl of cereal at night and went from wide awake to fast asleep literally within minutes. Being at night this as far from a problem and I am not terribly concerned. It's not the first time this has happened after having oats, pasta, etc and…

Carb tiredness
I had a big bowl of cereal last night and almost immediately felt really tired and went to sleep for a couple of hours. Does this sort of thing happen to anyone else? Almost had the same thing happen with a bowl of pasta the other day, but that was in the afternoon.

Training for fat loss vs. training for muscle/strength gain
Is there a difference? I mean is there a specific way you should train whilst cutting to avoid overdoing it and only work your muscles enough so that you maintain them but don't deplete them from doing too much and not eating enough to sustain that? Or am over complicating things here? Everytime I come across an apparently…

Porridge problems
I can't be the only one who really likes porridge/oatmeal but experiences a rise in hunger levels and a drop in energy levels/rise in fatigue after eating a bowl? Before anyone says add some fat, I do, peanut butter. Might be a carbs before exercise thing, might just be oats, but obvious solution seems to be to cut that…

Article I found on cracked.com - 'I Weigh Over 500 Lbs: 5 Surprising Realities Of My Life'
http://www.cracked.com/personal-experiences-2222-i-weigh-5002B-pounds-5-realities-extreme-obesity.html Am I wrong to feel like this is attempting to excuse/normalise excessive eating? The comment early on seemingly suggesting dieting doesn't work is ridiculous.

Didn't eat for much of today, felt ill
Because obviously. I was on the road a lot today (not driving) and other than breakfast and a snickers late afternoon, eating sort of got forgotten about. I do this every so often actually and it's fine. But today towards the evening my stomach was in pain and then later I suddenly felt very hot and quite dizzy. Can I…

Is this too obsessive?
Family cooking lamb, couldn't get macros information for it (packaging had been thrown out, not looking through bin for it), had no rough idea of calories, so skipping it and having chicken (which I do know the numbers for)...I can't be confident I'm sticking to my numbers if I go with food I know nothing about.

Training programs you can do at home
Hi, I've got a plan I do at the gym which I like, but I was just wondering if circumstances suddenly change and getting to the gym becomes difficult (work, hospital, etc might be getting in the way soon) is there such a thing as a plan you can do at home that is at all useful for maintaining lean mass? I actually have a…

Quick question
Has anyone gained a lot of weight in a short space of time but measurements remained the same, clothes still felt as comfortable fitting as ever, still look as slim in the mirror, still feel as slim and can't attribute much of the weight increase to muscle gain?

Weightlifting Programs
Anyone got any decent recommendations? Tried all sorts but all so far have either been boring to me or just not realistic in a gym where all of that needed equipment isn't available. Been doing the beginners on this http://anthonymychal.com/2012/02/solutions-for-the-skinny-fat-ectomorph-part-iii-programming-and-training/…

Pre-workout Nutrition
Just wondering what different people prefer to eat before going to the gym and how long beforehand? And how much trial and error did it take before you figured out what works best for you? I've had an absolutely terrible gym session after having peanut butter, banana on toast and a protein bar. Still can't figure out what…

Longest time spent being single?
Curious, anyone willing to say the longest they've been single for? Did it ever get depressing or were you fine with it? It doesn't feel a particularly bad thing to me as I'm not really a people person to begin with. But I seem to be spammed everyday on social media by everyone else's happy love life so I wonder if I'm…

Vegetables
What does everyone think is the amount of vegetables people should be aiming for per day? I usually have them with two meals or a lot with one meal. Never sure exactly what those serving sizes should be though. Also, do you count the protein and carbs from vegetables towards your macros? I mean is protein from broccoli as…

Quite a bit of weight gain
Just sounding off here, no particular purpose to this. Last time I weighed myself was about a month ago and I was 10:6 lbs, weighed myself this morning and now 11:1. I haven't been 11 stone since 2012, on visual judgement I don't feel as though I look any different, but I don't think my eyes are an accurate checking…
