Question on Active Zone Minute calculations
Just bought a Charge HR 4 and I'm trying to understand the calculations the go into calculating Active Zone Minutes. I've found the "help" documentation on the Fitbit site, https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1565.htm, which states: Which is fine as far as it goes. I plug my stats into the formula (61 years…

Charge 3 step inaccuries vs Versa 2
I've had a Fitbit Charge HR since the model line came out. When the original died I got a Charge 2, and the only thing it lacked was swim-proof. When the Charge 3 came out and was swim-proof, I bought it. Took it diving in Cozumel with no problems. But after a couple of months I noticed the steps were way off. Since my…

Ectopic Atrial Tachycardia
My wife goes in to the hospital in two and a half hours for a heart ablation to remedy her Ectopic Atrial Tachycardia. Doc says three possible sites normally trigger this. Two he can fix during this procedure. The third, he'll pull out and wait for her to recover in order to have another consult as she may need a pacemaker…

SCUBA diving with Charge HR 3
Just upgraded to the Charge HR3 and I have a SCUBA diving trip coming up in late Feb. I know it has water resistance rating of 50m (150 ft) and recreational diving usually bottoms at 33m (100 ft). I found a discussion on the Fitbit site, Scuba Diving, but the conclusions was ambiguous. Has anyone actually tried it with the…

The WOO response
From its first appearance some months ago, I took the WOO response to a post to mean YAHOO. I just found out that many on MFP have been using it as a derogatory response i.e. n.(or adj), the way a person is when they uncritically believe unsubstantiated or unfounded ideas. Short for "woo woo". Since the AWESOME response…

Stride Length at different paces
How do you handle different stride lengths at different paces? Just got my Charge HR dialed in to my long 10K run pace of 5 mph (12:00 pace) and then did a Army Physical Fitness Test short 2 mile run at 6.1 mph (9:50 pace) and my FitBit distance came up short. Obviously my stride is longer at 6.1 mph than at 5. How do you…

Meal names, MFP to FitBit
Not a huge deal, but bothers my touch of OCD. Noticed that the default meal names in MFP did not correspond exactly to the names in FitBit, so all three snacks were dumped into 'Anytime' in FitBit. I changed MFP's meal names to match FitBit's names. Now Morning and Afternoon Snacks import correctly into FitBit, yet After…

C10K, W7, D1
Talked with Dee this morning. With yesterday's holiday, she was in 'Sunday' mode all day and has asked me to post Monday's workout since she is in meeting today. I got this. ;) This is where the rubber hits the road. Your body is finally realizing that you ARE serious about getting in shape and, reluctantly, it is starting…

Challenge 1: I have my VO2max... Now what do I do with it.
So, you've finished Challenge 1 and have your estimated VO2max (mine is 41.6), great!... Now what do you do with it? LOTS!!! There is an equation for estimating your VO2max from your resting heart rate (RHR) and your maximum heart rate (MHR): MHR / RHR * 15 = VO2max Wait... didn't we just say, we all ready had our VO2max?…

Exercise calories bleeding away at end of day.
No issues with my FitBit syncing with MFP. This issue appears to be a normal function of MFP. Had a pretty active day and at 9 pm had this adjustment: Looked again about fifteen minutes later after just surfing the web and saw this: MFP appears to be projecting past activity for the day through to midnight I am never as…

Heart Rate Zone, Custom (one zone)
Anyone using this setting? I like the three zone graphs I get with the default setting, but my max heart rate is higher than "normal" for a man my age (56) so most of my cardio workouts are showing a 'peak' heart rate zone. I've just switched to the Custom one zone setting (130 to 161) and was wonder what to expect on my…

FitBit Charge HR vs. Dirty Jobs
Just got my FitBit Charge HR and would like to wear it while on the job. The problem is that I have a "Dirty Job". I'm a foreman on a commercial mowing crew. My hands can get dirty, greasy, muddy,... You name it, my hands have been in it. (Don't ask.) I have cut a phone screen protector down to cover the display as I have…

VO2max: please help interpret estimate results
Been playing around with my FitBit Charge HR for about three weeks now and decided to estimate my VO2max based on the Balke Treadmill Test. http://www.brianmac.co.uk/balketread.htm Some basic stats. 56 yr old male. 210 lbs. Resting heart rate (RHR) 70 bpm (from FitBit). Estimated max heart rate (MHR) (206.9-(age*0.67)) 169…

Any ideas on using our 'Event' feature?
I've never done an 'Event' and I'm curious how they work. I know they have a Start Date and an End Date, and there ends the sum total of my knowledge on 'Events'. Searching the site specifically and the web in general for more information on MFP's 'Events' has not be productive. Please post here any information you may…

Inaccurate 'floors' count
Normally my 'floors' count has been pretty close, however today I woke up with 17 floors already on the counter. Currently showing 55 floors. Truthfully I've actually climbed maybe 5 floors all day. Will this floors miscount affect my burn calories as reported by MFP? Or is that strictly based on HR and steps?

Suggestions on workout changes based on FitBit Charge HR data?
Looking at data from my FitBit Charge HR from doing ZenLabs 10K Week 1 Day 3 workout (W@3.5,J@5.5mph) My max HR was 153 bpm about halfway through the workout and you can see where, between 25 and 30 min, I increased my walk speed from 2.5 mph to 3.0 as I intend to keep walking past the end of the workout (while I finished…

Treadmill. Good news, bad news.
Good news is I finished my 10K ZenLabs app WK1 DY1 workout. Bad news is my 10 (15?) year old Horizon T61 treadmill flipped out after the run was over and started beeping and flashing "0 1-04" on the display and won't stop no matter what I do. (powered off and on, tried to soft reset treadmill, motor breaker OK, etc.) No…

Healthy daiquiri?
Tongue in cheek question. If you take a protein fruit smoothie recipe and replace the dairy with rum and ice, does that make it a healthy daiquiri?
