Plant Paradox Help
I am reading the book, and the ideas make a lot of sense, but i have tried and failed to stay away from the bad foods list on this diet because it takes time to prepare the right foods. Also, I am having a really hard time staying full. Any tips on how to stay full and save time preparing food on the plant paradox system…

Self Sabotage
Confession time. In my comfort zone, I am lazy, and I eat like a ravenous beast. After losing 14 pounds, I gave myself “permission” to eat whatever I wanted for a day on Sunday. This was stupid for me, because this is how I blew it the last time I lost 60 pounds and gained it all back. I can see the cycle repeating itself,…

Programs/Books For Weight Loss?
I am 331 pounds currently, and have lost 11 pounds in three weeks. Last week, however, I hit a plateau, losing only one pound despite staying under my calories goal and exercising an average of 90 minutes per day at moderate intensity. I’m starting to think that merely counting calories and staying away from processed…

9 pounds of water weight in a day
So a week ago, I weighed 337. Saturday, I weighed in at 332. Yesterday was my day off after 6 days of hard exercise. Last night I weighed in at 341! Now, I understand that night time makes you gain a couple, and I drank 2 gallons of water and ate all my calories. However, I drink and eat that much every day. I track my…

Caffeine and Fitness
Does anyone know of any good research on this? I typically consume 300 mg of caffeine 4 days a week because I have sleep apnea, and i could fall asleep at the wheel on my way to work if I don’t get the caffeine. One reason for losing weight is to wean myself off of caffeine if it’s harmful. Even at my healthiest, doing a…

Week 2: Hard Work
Last Saturday, I weighed 337. This Saturday, I weighed 332. How did that happen? Hard work. Plain and simple. I am blessed to teach a summer school, and do a part time security job. It can be demanding, but I use any free time I have to get fit. I work out at least an hour a day, six days a week. I use any down time in my…

Heart rate stuck at 100
So I had a pretty intense workout at the gym; 60 laps of swimming, pull ups, bicep curls, shoulder shrugs, lateral raises, and a light mile jog. My heart rate won’t fully go down, and I’m feeling a bit jittery. Any tips on how to help the recovery process along?

Looking For Support/Encouragemenr
I could use some support. I need to lose and keep off 100 pounds to live the lifestyle I desire. I often get emotional and eat my feelings away. I could use any help and encouragement I can get. Please friend me if it’s not too much trouble.

What is your why?
So today I stepped on the scale to find out I lost my first three pounds. I am on this journey to honor God, be healthy for my family, look attractive for my wife, have more energy, and I may join the army. What is your reason for losing weight or staying fit?

Day 6: Hopeful
Tomorrow is going to be my first official weigh in with My Fitness Pal. I put a ton of work in, burned those calories, ate clean, now it’s time to see the fruit of it. No matter what the number shows, I am hopeful. I am hopeful in a God who is able. I am hopeful that no matter what life throws at me, stress eating will no…

Want to Run but Legs Are Sore
So, I’m 340 pounds, and I’m fat and out of shape, but I was a college wrestler, so I can move and work hard. Today, I regrettably cheated on my diet, and I haven’t been losing the weight that I want since I started changing my diet in the last couple of weeks. To make up for today, I was going to run for a couple hours.…

Calves Are Exploding
Yesterday, I noticed a little soreness in my calves from my workout Tuesday, but then it got progressively worse. I stretched my calves for five minutes each, but they stayed tight. Now this morning, they feel like a couple balloons ready to pop. I can walk, but my stride looks like an old man’s. My workout consisted of…

Day 5: Ouch
So on Tuesday, I had a pretty amazing leg workout consisting of 3X10 front squats, Zercher squats, and power cleans. To finish the weight lifting routine, I hammered out some calf raisers on the seated machine with one 45 pound plate on each side. After 100 reps, I felt pretty good, so I walked 1.5 miles home from the gym,…

Day 4: Good Times
With my car broken down, I decided to make the most of my unexpected day off. Instead of letting my lack of a car stop me, I fast walked to the gym, did a full leg workout, walked home, then swam for an hour. I’ve never swum that much in a day, and it was a blast to do that in the sunshine. Already, I can feel a huge…

Day 3: Unexpected
Yesterday started out nice, but ended in a tough spot. I tracked all my food and stuck to the plan, but went over my calories a bit. I need to be more precise, but I will correct that today. So I work teaching summer school, but I also work security on the side to help pay the bills. Last night, I was on my way to a…

Day 2: Riding High
The first day back is always emotional, and it certainly felt good to be eating clean and exercising. I stayed under my calories and went swimming for 45 minutes, which felt amazing, especially in the sunshine. As someone who has lost weight in the past, the real challenge will come down the road when I’m not feeling good,…

Army Standards (push ups, sit ups, 2 mile run)
As it stands, my plan is to teach one more academic year, then join the army. This means I have until the spring to lose 100 pounds, and pass the PT standards for the army. Given that I am 340 pounds, what are some routines I can implement to start training specifically to be better at doing push ups, sit ups, and running…

Day 1: Starting Over
24 hours ago, I stuffed my face with Wendy’s to appease my 340 pound flesh. No more. Little did I know that minutes after stuffing my chubby face, I would go searching around this app, only to find a supportive community that would inspire me to pick myself up and try again. Thank God for that. I’m ready to start over.

Tried Everything, Lost Hope
I have always struggled with overeating. When I was a kid, food was my escape. As an adult, food is my idol. I’m ashamed when I look in the mirror, and see the 340 pounds of out of shape person I have created. January of 2018, I resolved to lose weight, so I joined weight watchers. By April, I lost 60 pounds. Around that…
