Calories burned; Machine vs MFP
I notice that very often the calories burned calculated for exercises listed in MFP are very different than what is listed on the machine. Sometimes the difference is 500 calories! Which one do you go with?

Workout oath
I realize, like most female creatures (and some males), that I am an emotional person and use food to cope. So instead of beating myself up for eating cheese cake and drinking a long island, I have vowed to work out every day. Here is my workout oath: Whether I am happy or sad, glad or mad... Whether I have eaten like an…

AM Workout tips?
I am looking to start doing cardio in the morning before work. Any tips? Should I eat before or after? What should I eat? I generally have either a protein shake or eggs and meat scramble. Anything I should do in the evening before bedtime? The idea is here that I would break up my cardio into two sessions, once in the…

Living out of a hotel room - need advice.
In Febuary, I will be in NYC (how exciting!) for training for my new job. However, I will be living out of a hotel room - not a residence inn where I can cook for myself. I will also be travelling across country (from California to NY). I do plan to bring my workout clothes and work out when I can. I am very, very nervous…

"Rest Day" question.
Here is my question: how often do you take a "rest" day? I have worked out two days in a row. I was thinking about just taking a yoga class tonight instead of cardio then yoga (the yoga class is twice a week Mon and Thur in the evening). Thoughts?

Should you eat even if you are not hungry?
I never thought I would have this problem but I am not hungry in the evening sometimes. Should I eat anyway to meet the minimum calories for the day? Today I made myself eat something for dinner but I definetly wasn't hungry. I had 555 calories left to eat for the day.

What do you look forward to when you get to goal weight?
I look forward to not wearing plus sizes anymore. To see a size 10 or size 8 pair of jeans is what I look forward to the most.

Cardio and weight training, how do mix it?
I plan to start incorporating weight training with my exercise program next week. I have heard various ways to combine cardio and weights but I am not sure which is the safest workout. I have heard to warm up 15 minutes on the treadmill, do the weights then do 30 minutes of medium to hard cardio. I have heard do weights…

How did you "get into" healthy foods?
My 2 cents: Many people complain that they cannot "get into" healthy foods. I was one of those folks. How I got into healthy foods was this. I pick out what fruits and vegetables I like and starting eating those (balanced of course). There is surely something that you (general you) like that is healthy. Do you like…
