Insanity - What is the Cardio Circuit DVD??
My calendar says to do "Cardio Circuit" but I don't see that DVD in my pack? Am I missing it? I was given this Insanity set from a friend so before I badger  him, I'd like to make sure I'm not missing something myself.

Active.com's hidden charges, subscription fees, etc.
I signed up for a half marathon in February on Active.com. Apparently I also signed up for two magazines, Runners World and Women Runners (something like that). I didn't know it, not until May 24 and June 3 did they CHARGE me for the magazines I didn't sign up for. Yes, I did receive those magazines but I was totally…

Doing Insanity barefoot
I haven't got around to buying cross-trainers and my running shoes totally suck for Insanity (they're big for when they swell from long distance running). Anyway, I decided to try it barefoot last night. I do Insanity on the carpet. It wasn't half bad! I really liked doing the warm up barefoot but once it went into the…

Quickie weddings or long engagements?
Just a question I've been thinking on. I was married within 8 months of meeting my hubby, only engaged for four of those months and then he went overseas right after we got engaged! Engaged at 19, married at 20, first kid at 21. (Been happily married 13+ years now) I really like the quote from When Harry Met Sally:…

New Moderators
Hello! I have been on vacation and have been incredibly bad at logging. I log my miles on mapmyrun, but that's about it! Anyway, because GrammaBonnie and brunagota have been so amazing at keeping up on the posting the threads and the weeks, I'm making them moderators. It just means they can edit where needed, if needed,…

That stinks!! :explode: Anyway, I wanted to say that you guys who are keeping up with this, you are awesome! I've been MIA here and there and want to express my…

First Half Marathon results!
I just finished my first half marathon this morning. I'm pretty doggone proud of myself as I'm sure everyone is after finishing theirs! I finished it in 1:53. About an 8:39 pace. The last 1.1 mile was the worst! I was so tired and it curves all over the park and up little hills, it was like, "C'MON, where's the freakin'…

Donating Blood for the 1st time
Any tips? Any suggestions for healthy-ish food but enough that I don't pass out? LOL! And should I work out in the morning or save it for the evening? Suggestions are appreciated, as I mentioned, this is my first time!

Is exercise fully a part of your lifestyle now?
When I started exercising, I struggled to find time to exercise. Now that I've been working out solidly for over four months, it's as much a part of my life as eating. I'll work it in any way I can. If I have to wake up at 4:30am to exercise, I'll do it. I'm currently doing Insanity and I am in love with the program. I…

Major running victory this weekend!
I'm still12 days away from my half marathon but I ran a 12k (7.46 miles) race this weekend and KILLED it! I shocked myself big time. This is the fourth year in a row I've done this race and I beat my best time by almost six minutes. I finished it in 1hr3min20sec, an 8min30sec pace. It gives me great hope that I can finish…

What will you/did you do after you complete(d) your first
...half marathon? Marathon? First race? I know a lot of people are looking to complete their first half marathon this year, what do you plan to do? If you've already completed your first half marathon (or other goal race), what did you do? First things first for me, DRINK A BEER and PIG OUT on a food I've been missing out…

Great article for first time racers
I saw this on active.com today. Good info. I'm one who gets really anxious leading up to a race. Having a list like this will be helpful! http://www.active.com/running/Articles/9-Race-Day-Tips-for-First-Timers.htm

What has helped you with tightening it up? Suggestions plz!
I've been training for my first half marathon and have lost 11lbs in the process. I have toned up slightly from doing weights at home once per week and boot camp once per week. I don't have time for much more strength training than that right now because of keeping up with running for the half. BUT, once I've completed the…

Workout videos from the library!
I don't like buying anything without seeing it first (I hate most internet shopping). I have been trying to decide what to buy for workout videos so I go the idea to see what my local library had. They have TONS of workout videos. You can try them out, if you like it, buy it. If you don't, try another. In the mean time…

When you feel like food cheating then someone says...
...they are working out too and eating well then you get all competitive and stuff and then choose not to cheat. Just happened to me and I'm super thankful. I was thinking a cheeseburger today then thought, NO! If so-and-so can do this, I can do better! Ever had that happen to you?

Carbs/Fat/Protein to Calories Ratio
Do you go with the automatic ratios set by MFP? I cannot recall what it automatically is set at, but I changed mine to 50% carbs, 25% protein, 25% fat. I read this on a few different sites for running. I'm not a crazy marathon runner, just about 20-25 miles a week (and slowly working my way up) so I read anything above 50%…

Do you log your meals/snacks before you actually eat them?
Kind of like a goal? Like, this is all I"m going to eat today? When I make my lunch before I head off to work I measure most of the stuff out and log it right then. I don't exercise until the evening so I make sure I'm eating enough in order to have meet my calorie max or just below it. I also go ahead and log my snacks so…

banana's every day, good or bad?
I eat a banana every day but it takes up 14g of my 36g of sugar allowed per day so I'm almost ALWAYS over on that category. Should I cut back on them? I exercise five days a week, four days are runs and one day is a boot camp class. I heard banana's are a great source of energy but is the sugar too much?

I am shocked how much sodium is in chicken
And we're talking your boneless/skinless chicken breasts too! I was watching tv the other day and saw several news reports that chicken is one of the top five most sodium filled foods. I had no idea, I eat chicken all the time and never thought to look at the sodium amount on the package. Apparently they inject chicken…

Sports drink suggestions?
I drink a lot of water, trust me, but after running on a treadmill and sweating a ton, I feel like I need something with electrolytes maybe? I've been getting headaches only after the treadmill because it's so warm inside. So I'm thinking something to help me replenish, water doesn't seem to be cutting it. No that doesn't…

Losing to Run, not running to lose
Did that make sense? I'm a mostly short distance runner and am planning three half marathons this year. I've been stuck at 145 for the past 12 years but this year I'm going the distance. I don't want joint problems with any extra poundage so I'm aiming to lose about 10-15lbs or about 7-10%. As far as muscle mass, I…
