Running advice, please (weakness while running)
Last year I completed C25K. When the time changed and the weather got colder I stopped running outside. I did run a few times on the dreadmill over the winter. Sunday was the first day I was able to run again outside. Of course I had/have all the typical aches and pains from beginning running again and had taken Monday and…

Discouraged after first 5K
Saturday I participated in my first 5K. I had to walk the majority of it as it was a very, very tough course. In fact, a man that has been running since 2001 said it is one of the hardest courses he's ever ran. I'm feeling discouraged because I couldn't run more and because I was so stiff and sore afterward. I tried to do…

Questions about first 5K from a total noob
Saturday is going to be my first official 5K race. However, I've got a question or two and need the advice of some experienced runners out there in MFP Land. First question, for the past couple of weeks I've been experiencing pain in my hip/groin area with a dull pain radiating down my leg along with weakness. Should I…

How long to recover after exercise?
Last night was the first time I've ever ran 5K in my life. I've been working up to it for at least 16 weeks. My question for everyone is how long after a workout should it take you to recover? I'm still so drained today. Is this normal?

NSV--I did it! I finished C25K!
Saturday night, I finished C25K! It took me about 15 weeks and I'm still not up to 5K in 30 minutes, but I did it! Me, a girl that hasn't exercised in about 15 years or more. I'm just so proud of myself for 1) completing something I started and 2) being able to run 2.25 miles in 30 minutes.

NSV C25K
Last night I started W8D1. It's taken me a lot longer than 8 weeks to get to this point. But, I did it! I ran 28 minutes non-stop! I'm proud that a chick that hasn't exercised in many, many years is able to run for 28 minutes straight. I am disappointed with my distance, but I know that will come in time.

Yeah, me! Another NSV
Yesterday I went shopping with some family members. I was in need of a pair of black dress pants as my others have gotten too big. I tried on a 20, guessing that's where I'd be. Much to my surprise, they were too big! After at least 10 years, I'm finally back in an 18! I was so excited that I did a happy dance in the store…

Help! My thighs are eating my shorts!
I have a problem that I'm hoping someone on here has had before and can give me advice. Last night I wore a pair of shorts while running. The problem I have is that my thighs love to eat my shorts. Well, that makes me self conscience so I was constantly pulling them down. It's hard to get a good workout while pulling at…

C25K W6D3
Please tell me that I'm not the only one ever to do this program that has had problems with W6D3. I've attempted it 2 times now and have yet to make it all the way through the whole run. The pod cast I'm using (Robert Ullrey's) says that it's supposed to be a 25 minute run. The website says 22 minutes. Well, it doesn't…

3 Goals Met in One Weekend!
I am so excited! I met 3 mini-goals this weekend! Friday night I did W5D3 of C25K. This chick ran/jogged 25 minutes without stopping! I was soaring high. One was to weigh in at 220. Saturday morning, I hit it! Which then led to goal 3, moving from Extremely Obese to Obese on the BMI Chart. I love this feeling!

Yet another C25K question
I've got another C25K question. Are the rest days really important? Last night I did W4D2 and I want to do it again tonight! Since I'm fairly new to this whole exercise thing, do I have to take the rest days?

Charlie Horse during jogging. Advice, please!
This morning since I didn't have to be in to work until 1:00, I decided I'd get my work out in early. I'm on W3D3 of C25K. I made it through the first cycle pretty well. During the second 90 second run, I started getting a Charlie Horse in my calf. I kept on running, thinking I'd work it out. It then started making my…

NSV--C25K W3D1!!!
I did it! Last night I made it through W3D1 of C25K! I am so proud of myself. Twice I ran for 3 mintues! To me this is an awesome feat considering I'm someone that hasn't exercised in years! I was exhausted, but in a very good way. I think the joy of making it through was enough to overrule the exhaustion.

C25K Questions
First I want to say that I love, love, love this program. It's taken me, huge couch potato from no exercise to running (jogging). My first question is, how do you know you're ready to move on to the next week? I completed W2D3 last night, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to move on to W3. By the time I get to the 6th 90 sec.…

Small NSV BMI
I first started this quest for a healthier lifestyle (I refuse to call it a diet) in February 2012. I started at a BMI of 46.1, extremely obese for my height. One of my goals is to be obese, then overweight and then healthy. To date I have lost 30 lbs by sticking to 1,200 calories and exercising 3-5 times per week.…

Fiber...help!
I'm really trying to get in 25g of fiber. However, I'm having a very difficult time. I'm trying to eat veggies and whole grains, but it's so hard to find foods high in fiber. to make it worse, I'm also watching calories, fat, carbs and protein. Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi everyone! Love MFP already!
My name is Devona. I am so excited about this site. I started my journey about 6 weeks ago weighing in at 260. I was amazed when I stepped on the scales at the doctor's office. This was the most I have ever weighed in my life! I've struggled with weight all my life. At one time I was at my goal, but I had something to work…
