Deadlifts Died
Hi all, I've been lurking here for a while. Started SL in January and I'm in week 9. Everything has been progressing nicely. Haven't failed a single DL rep. Last workout I deadlifted 61kg for 5x5. I had to work for it but it wasn't ridiculously hard. I felt like I could've done more reps. Certainly didn't feel close to…

Life After Body Revolution
I still have six weeks of JMBR left but I'm looking ahead to another program to follow it up with. It will keep me motivated to finish and excited for the next stage in my fitness/weight loss journey. I was considering doing another round of JMBR but think I might want to try something else first to get a break from…

Small NSV
In the last few weeks I've lost nearly 4kg. It's not a huge amount but I'm already starting to see some changes in my body. Today I was looking in the bathroom mirror and I was thinking "What's that weird thing on my side?" Upon tensing and releasing my tummy muscles I realised it was my abs starting to show through the…

Crackling/popping in shoulder
Hi everyone, When doing push-ups (girl-style) I sometimes get a weird crackling/popping sensation in my left shoulder. It doesn't hurt, just feels weird. It kind of reminds of me of when I used to do ballet and my hips would sometimes do it when doing leg swinging exercises. I was told it was due to ligaments/tendons…

Starting again?
Hey guys, just wanted some advice I guess. I've missed some workouts and taken some time off for personal reasons. Have started up again and completing week 8 this week, so now 2 weeks behind. Being behind doesn't bother me, I know you are all still here for support! But I feel like I have lost a little fitness and am…

Week 7 - Past Half Way!!!
Monday: Workout 7 Tuesday: Workout 8 Wednesday: Cardio 2 Thursday: Workout 7 Friday: Workout 8 Saturday: Cardio 2 Sunday: Rest How are we all going? I'm excited to start new workouts as I absolutely hated both 5 and 6, but 7 has a reputation on these boards for being ridiculously hard, so I'm a bit scared. Oh well, I'll do…

Week 6 Check-In
Monday: Workout 5 Tuesday: Workout 6 Wednesday: Cardio 2 Thursday: Workout 5 Friday: Workout 6 Saturday: Cardio 2 Sunday: Day off! How are we all going? How many of us are still keeping up? I'm a day behind but I'll catch it up by skipping my rest day this week. The only thing I still can't really do is those crossover…

Week 5! Phase 2 begins!
Monday: Workout 5 Tuesday: Workout 6 Wednesday: Cardio 2 Thursday: Workout 5 Friday: Workout 6 Saturday: Cardio 2 Sunday: Rest So I just did workout 5 for the first time and I am DYING. According to my HRM I burned 320 calories and I was NOT keeping up. Had to take quite a few mini-breaks throughout this workout. I hope to…

Day 5 & 6
I did the AM workouts these days but skipped the extra Cardio 1 although I did it for the first 4 days. My body was really sore and telling me it needed a rest. I want to complete the 12 weeks without injury so I listened to my body and just did one workout these days. Plus I'm seriously sick of Cardio 1 already and I have…

Week 1 Results
I don't know how often you guys weigh yourselves or do your measurements. I do mine weekly on Monday mornings so I thought we could all post our results/progress here. Personally I lost half a kilo and half an inch off my waist. I'm pretty happy with this considering I skipped the extra cardio on Friday and Saturday and my…

Day 4
Despite some soreness, I found workout 1 just as easy as the first time. I used 3kg (~6.5lbs) weights for most of it too compared to doing it all with 2kg (~4.5lbs) weights on Monday. I am scared I will never be able to do a real pushup though. I am so weak! How did everyone find day 4? Hope we're all sticking to it. You…

Workout 1
Being an Australian, I live in the future and will probably do most of these workouts first. How did you guys find workout 1? I really enjoyed it. I found it surprisingly easy and it flew past. When she said we were up to the last circuit I couldn't believe it! I've been doing the 30DS and the 20 minutes seems to drag…

Day 3
Okay somebody motivate me to do cardio 1 a second time today. I am DYING! It's really fun though :)

Day 2
I think I've realised why I get lower back pain a lot. I have NO muscles down there to support my spine! Doing those pelvic thrusts and then supermans straight away, my poor lower back muscles were crying! Not in a "we're injured oww please stop" way, just in a "ooooo yeah that's a good burn" way. This workout flew by too…

itchy skin from cardio?
This is something that has plagued me for my entire life and is exacerbated by cold weather but still bad in warm weather. Whenever I do cardio exercise, especially jogging, about 5-10minutes in I get very itchy skin especially around the thighs and the tummy (the two places where most of my excess fat is). If I ignore it,…

Jillian's Meal Plan
Hi, I'm starting JMBR on Monday and I'm pretty excited! Having read over Jillian's meal plan, it is completely impossible for me. Buying all the ingredients, finding time to prepare the meals, I can just already see that it isn't going to happen. I plan to stick to 1200-1400 calories a day, which is what I do already. I…

Undereating
So last year, under the recommendation of my mother (yo-yo dieter for life), I went on a diet called "Bodytrim". For anyone who hasn't heard of it, it's basically a low carb, high protein, five meals a day to "boost your metabolism" deal. Basically at each of your 5 meals you had to have 50-100g of a protein (I usually…

Push through the pain vs day off
Which is better? I'm doing the 30DS and on level 1 I just did the days consecutively, pushed through the soreness and after a few days it got better and I felt so much better, had higher endurance, etc. On level 3, I'm thinking if I have to do a single walking plank today I'm going to die! Do I just take a day off? Or will…

Post-workout nausea
So I'm a bit of a newbie to working out. I've been a lazy thing for the last 2 years or so although before that I was pretty active and fit. I've been working through the 30 day shred and have just moved up to level 3 a few days ago. This level kicks my butt, but it feels great. I'm sweating heaps and feeling the burn and…

Hi there!
Hi I'm Cait. I'm 22 and just starting on the road to fitness. I used to be a dancer but once I quit I turned to fat. Looking to lose about 45lbs. I'm currently suffering through the 30 Day Shred. It's the second time I've attempted it but last time (2 years ago) I quit after a day of level 2. I just did day 17 today and I…
