lost my first 5lb, again
hi everyone, hope you're well. I eat ~1200 calories a day (I'm a student and don't do much exercise). I've been gaining and losing the same 10lb for years and years, since I was at least sixteen. How can I keep up the motivation to keep losing? It's 1am and I just ate 18 crisps! Why am I this way :(

fine when sober, but when drunk...
so I can eat perfectly as I want to when I'm sober. as soon as I'm drunk i eat everything! Tonight I've had 2 pieces of pizza, and garlic bread! And a piece of millionaires shortbread. Tempted to throw up :/ / How can I stop myself from eating rubbish when drunk? Obvious is not to keep it in the house but my friends alwyas…

Aerobic Step and Calories Burned
I didn't get to the gym today, but have an aerobic step which is 8" high. This is on the system as "Aerobics, step, with 6-8" step", and in 45 minutes (I watch an episode of TV as I do this) MFP tells me that I burn 382 calories. How vigorous would this have to be to burn that many? I tend to get out-of-breath, hot and…

getting more and more restrictive
so. I was 150lb at 5'10. Lost down to 125lb (thanks to a hideous stomach flu! didn't want to get that thin!) and then regained to 135lb, which is where I am now. The thing is that I am restricting so much. It started with no chocolate, no cakes, no crisps. Then red meat, then white meat, then fish. Then, I stopped eating…

took my eye off the ball, gained 10lb
since starting uni i have gained 10lb whether from drinking more, or finally being able to choose what i eat and choosing take aways -- - feeling pretty miserable. if i hadn't gained this i would have lost a total of 23lb! could i lose the 10lb by the end of january and then get cracking on the other 30lb? :( plus it's…

calories in certain things; cold showers
so. calories in toothpaste? I am worried that I accidentally swallow some, and the calories are concerning me a little. and -- is it worth having cold baths and showers so that I burn more calories when heating my body back up? cheers!

Eating pre/post exercise
So, I've started jogging - never very far and never very quickly, but it is coming along slowly. I'm pretty pleased with myself. However, I'm not really sure what I should be eating before and after exercise. Sometimes, I run in the mornings and sometimes it is in the evenings, but I try to have porridge for breakfast with…

diet versions of stuff
what are your opinions on the value of diet Coke, diet cereal (special K or whatever), low-calorie jelly (like the 10 calorie Hartley's jelly), as compared to the real thing? same goes for skimmed milk and that kind of stuff. worth it or not?

"generally 75 percent diet and 25 percent exercise"
So, I've heard that losing weight is " generally 75 percent diet and 25 percent exercise" (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/04/30/exercise-vs-diet-for-weight-loss_n_5207271.html) But if I were to burn 500 calories a day through intense exercise, could I still eat 2000 and therefore lose weight? Does exercise count for…

only a little to go
hi there so I have 10lb left to lose, having lost 15lb already. (I'm 5'9"). Any hints for how to lose it? I'm at a healthy weight now and I would be at a healthy weight then, I just want to slim down a little. I get that it's easier to lose more slowly when you have such a small amount to go, but would it be possible to…

Abs like Keira Knightley
so, I just hit my goal weight! 140lb at 5'9, or 10 stone. My body fat is 18%. I'm looking to tone up my muscles though, because whilst certainly not flabby, I feel that a lot of work can be done. I'm aiming for tone like this: http://img2.timeinc.net/instyle/images/2007/galleries/040407_bi_knightley_300X400.jpg (bikini…

you don't need to be obese to have to get in shape
so there I was, merrily going through life at 180lb (12st 12lb) and feeling a bit sluggish. My BMI was 26.6, so only a little bit into overweight, but my joints ached and I was tired all the time. I lost the weight. It took me about a year, but today I hit 140lb, or 10 stone exactly! I think that because I wasn't too…

getting obsessed
okay so. I find myself feeling guilty for eating anything, really. Even fruit or veg or like, eggs. Anything just makes me feel bad, and then I have to exercise it off... I don't eat back my exercise calories and I always think about food. I'm faint and dizzy half the time, I'm cold and I have no energy I can't stop…

how much over a goal would you say is relevant?
how much over a goal would you say is relevant? I ate 89 calories more than I should have done (damn you, Freddo bar!) and was wondering if this will make a difference? On the same note, if I were to be under my goal, would that make a difference, and if so how much of a difference will be caused? (sorry for awkward and…

plateau
I've been the same weight for three weeks now. I only have around 15-20lb left to go, but have done loads of things to shift it. Cutting calories to 1000 a day, no change. Increasing calories to 2000 a day, no change. Doing an hour of cardio a day, no change. Doing weights and cardio and circuits, no change. Not eating…

what do you count as a binge?
like - a certain type of food, or just over your daily limit? or do you have to feel sick or something to count? to me a binge is too much of any one type of food. like today, a milkshake made with oreos, ice cream and flake bars my brother made - 200ml of it! so yeah was wondering about everyone else?

unsupportive family
my family are big, and when I decided I wanted to lose weight - I'm 18 and live at home - they got angry. They say I should love the way I am, and if I'm fat then they must be fat. The thing is, they ARE fat -and they want me to stay that way. I've been trying to eat healthily but they keep heaping more onto my plate, and…

binging and when to eat
so yesterday I ate double my calories and today I was about 500 over (I've now eaten allll the binge food in my house haha) but: I was wondering, if I know I;m going to binge say I have 200g of chocolate, about 1100 calories. Is it better to eat it all in one day, or to try to save any of it for another day, and only have…

nutritionally ideal meal
so has anyone yet worked out a meal which contains the ideal amounts of protein, fat, carbs, fibre and vitamins, as well as being filling and tasty? Or does anyone have any idea of what could come close? I saw a post (on the Daily Mail - apologies) which I've copied a bit from below. "Healthiest meal ever: After editing…

waitressing
so I waitress on weekends for usually about 4 hours on a Friday and Saturday should I bother logging this? I'm on my feet and moving around and my profile is set to sedentary, but yeah. Was wondering if anyone else has this with part time jobs? Like, is the burn enough to warrant putting it up? And if so, how long for,…
