I miss the automatic congratulations after weekly check-in
LOL, I know this is silly. I am back here after a\months and months of going off the rails. I finished my first week and when I posted my weight loss in check in, there was no "ZIlla 100 checked in and lost X amount of weight, Zilla has lost X number of pounds so far!" I know it is a little thing but I loved seeing that…

So, sugar stimulates your appetite (Light dawns on Marble Head)
Things I wish a doctor had told me years ago. It would have been a GAMECHANGER for me. I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about weight loss at this point, what I should and shouldn't be eating, and I know now exactly what I have to do to lose weight. I have been doing this for years and I am confident now that I am on…

How are you treating yourself these days?
I mean, what kind of non-food treats or rewards do you get for yourself? I have become an Etsy addict, lol, bingeing on earrings. No calories and my ears have never been more stylin'! I'm interested in what others do for themselves as an alternative to food rewards.

17 lbs down in 2 months, almost 20% of the way there!
I have noticed that when your underwear starts falling down when you're walking around, you're doing something right! (As long as you have pants on, that is.)

What is your "dessert" or reward for completing a workout?
Just curious if anyone else motivates themselves with little treats. I reward myself by watching another episode of "Castle" afterwards. I'm still in season 3. :) What's your carrot on a stick?

Yikes. Phase Two, Workout 7 and 8
I've previewed them, and I am a-skeered. I just went back through my exercise diary here to look at the last time I did Revolution, and apparently I quit right before 7 & 8. I have to push through this and keep going.

Question re: Pullups and P90X3
I am coming to the end of Body Revolution, have one Phase left to go, and am looking for another extended program. I have been looking at some of the Beachbody programs but I have one question. I see that these programs include pullups, which would require a bar attached to a doorframe or in some cases, a wall. (I am not…

Well, I'm back. Day One again..
I did two months of BR last year before I got bored at the two month mark and quit. But I am picking it up again. Day One, Phase One, Workout One. I managed to get to the 26 minute mark before I needed to take a break because I was starting to feel sick. Then I went back and finished it, and went and barfed in the shower,…

Minerals as appetite suppressants?
I've been on a 1200 calorie regimen since New Year's. I recently added a multivitamin so that I'd make up for whatever vitamins I was deficient in, Trader Joe's Women's High Potency multivitamin. It has some very high levels of certain elements. for example Vitamin C 833% RDA Vitamin E 1333% B6 5000% RDA B12 1000% RDA…

Well, hmm.
I took a "day off" from my regimen yesterday, as I will occasionally do, just to mix things up. I have been doing pretty well and I have been very good at sticking to my daily limits and avoiding outright crap. I discovered for myself that once in a while a "bad" day is not going to wreck everything. Well, what happened is…

Small brags, please excuse. :)
I went to the gym today for the first time in months and I found that I can actually run for 4 minutes at a time, at 4.4 mph. I thought I would be dying at a minute and a half, given that I have never been a runner. So that's a big, eyeopening plus. Today I also hit the 15 pound mark. :) That's over 5 weeks, so MPF was…

Really, Jillian? 5 lbs a week?
In workout three she says she designed this not so you could lose 1-2 lbs a week, but more like 5 lbs a week, crazy numbers. For WHOM, Jillian, the morbidly obese? Maybe. I have between 50 and 55 lbs to lose and I am losing slightly over 1 lb a week on a 1200 calorie CLEAN diet. Don't get me wrong, I love the workouts and…

Started Phase Two today
Workout Five. HOLLLLY Cow. I got through it but had to drop one or two things, (cable crescent flies, because my shoulders were just spent after the previous exercise, but I did do some in each segment) and once again, those stupid one legged things. My balance is crap and the wobbling may be one of the reasons why I have…

I lost my enthusiasm for this
I may revisit this from the beginning at some later date, but I think I am done for now.

Hidden Sugar
I thought I was doing a good thing by cutting down on sugar by flavoring my plain yogurt and oatmeal with vanilla extract. Thought I was also doing well by buying said things at Trader Joe's, home of the organics. Trader Joe's puts sugar in its vanilla extract. *facepalm* I was wondering why my oatmeal tasted sweeter…

Logging the Cardio
Jillian classifies Cardio One as low impact, so that is what I logged it. Do you think Cardio 2 is high impact aerobics? How about Cardio 3?

Woo! Bra is looser. :)
I need it to be. I am only 5'3 and do not need to be a 38DD. I need to get back to a 36. So I am happy to see some room in those cups! And my workout shorts are fitting much better :) and the cute undies I just bought are getting a bit looser. :( lol. Thanks Jillian! :)

Skipping a day
So I skipped cardio today because I am sick this week and I can't face all the running around. If it was a Workout Day I would have done it..less herki-jerkiness. What do you do when you have to skip a day? I think I am going to "pause" and make the next day I workout the continuation day (like today would have been day 21…

Workout Three - Trees
I can't do these. I am so wobbly. I get through everything else (although plank-ups are killing me) but these one legged balance things are really, really hard. I am trying to squeeze my abs while I do this, use a focal point, etc, but I still fall over. It also doesn't help when Jillian tries to make one of her exercisers…

I decided to not focus so much on calories burned with JMBR
and just work on keeping my food calories between 1100 and 1300 a day. Generally I am coming in at just under 1200 a day so I think I am on course. I feel that the calories I ingest are really going to be the true variable anyway. I know that I am doing the work, I can feel it, and I am doing my best. The calories burned…

Has anyone ever seen the movie "Fatso" ?
It came out a little over 30 years ago and stars Dom Deluise and Ann Bancroft. It is a little dated, but I think it still holds up..it is a comedy but parts of it are pretty touching, and it is about an obese man's struggle to lose weight. I think it is still kind of a unique theme movie wise and Dom's character is easy to…

First two weeks done!
Ten to go! I start with Workout 3 in the am, previewing it now. :)

Thinking of subbing out elliptical for the cardio DVD
I am mostly through the first week and before this, I did the first two phases of the 30 Day Shred (the third phase was surprisingly hard for me, so I figured I will try to redo that at a later date.) I am now getting pain in the arch of my right foot that I have never felt before. Also, the DVDs seem to have reactivated…

Trying to get inventive while kicking sugar
So, one week sugar-free. Again. (Damn you, Reese's Easter eggs!) About the only remaining regular source of sugar that I have been eating are the Greek yogurts that I have with breakfast and lunch, and with the fruit in them, the sugar is fairly high. So I'm trying to get into plain yogurt. Which, unless I am eating it…

"Oil...can.."
Ok..Day 4 tomorrow. So far everything is do-able for me, but holy hell. I. Am. So. Sore. And stiff! My joints be popping. I just..feel..rusty. All over. Like the Tin Woodsman. I think a hot Epsom salt bath is in order.

Started today
I got the New Year off to a really good start and was doing cardio 4x a week, eating very cleanly, doing some weight training and a Pilates DVD once or twice a week on top of that. I lost 18 lbs in the first 5 weeks of 2013. Then I backslid in a huge way. I did a lot of damage over a period of a month and a couple of weeks…

I just got the Jillian Michael's Body Revolution set today
and I am looking forward to taking it on. I don't think I will be doing much, if any, of the cooking (she really expects you to cook THAT much and THAT often?) It might have been helpful for the price of that set to also suggest some ready-to-eat options for those of us that are single with full time jobs (most of these…

Best inner thigh shaper-upper?
Wondering what exercises people have found to be most effective. Thanks!
