Small brags, please excuse. :)

I went to the gym today for the first time in months and I found that I can actually run for 4 minutes at a time, at 4.4 mph. I thought I would be dying at a minute and a half, given that I have never been a runner. So that's a big, eyeopening plus.

Today I also hit the 15 pound mark. :) That's over 5 weeks, so MPF was really on the money with its: "If every day was like today you'd weigh X amount in 5 weeks" captions.

What I am really most proud about is that I have been managing to lose weight without resorting to supplements like Hydroxycut or Xenadrine. Every time I see one of those ads, it's like a challenge to me, "I bet I can lose a similar amount of weight in the SAME amount of time WITHOUT a $30 bottle of pills." It's just a thing to me, I understand that they really do help some people.

It is very enlightening and encouraging to me to see that when I set a calorie goal, plan well, and stick to it, the weight WILL come off. I have no excuses to lean on.

Be proud of your brags! It's a big deal when you reach a milestone in weight and fitness! It shows progress and that's important to keep motivated. Good job on resisting those ads. Weight loss and getting into shape is difficult and it does take a while, so the quick fixes are often VERY tempting. But I think the way in which you resisted really shows a lot about how strong your will is and how you're in the right mindset to make this a lifestyle change that's healthy and sustainable. So you should definitely be proud of what you've accomplished!

No need to excuse you.....you earned some right to brag :) Congrats for accomplishing what you have so far! Just stay focused and remember that if you hit any rough spots you have these things to look back on to help you keep moving!

Brag away! That's what this site is about :)

If you're looking to increase your running, I really recommend C25K. It got me from zero (and I really mean zero) to now running 3.5 - 5 miles daily.

    Thanks everyone!

I have tried C25K in the past, I do want to do a 5K at some point so I will be revisting that.

    I am excited. :D
