SO close to 50 pounds lost! (Pics)
I'm 5'11", and started out on My Fitness Pal in January of this year, weighing 278 lbs! Yikes! That was my heaviest ever, and I'll never go back that way again! I love MFP and all the motivation it has given me! I'm currently at 232, and I know I've got quite a ways to go yet, but hey, I'm STOKED at my progress thus far -…

Too Much Protein?
If I stay within my cals, carbs, fat and sodium, should I feel badly about going over in protein? Will that slow down my weight loss, or do you feel MFP puts our protein limits a little too low? Thoughts?

Darn You, Belly Fat!!
This is probably TMI, but I'm going to grin and bear it, and write it out: I've lost over 40 pounds since Jan. 2011, I've lost 19" in my neck, waist, hips, thighs, but I STILL have that dang inner tube-looking thing around my belly! I do cardio and strength training at least 4-5 times weekly, yet I can't get rid of the…

SPINACH SMOOTHIE - SO YUMMY!!
Don't let the name fool you, folks. I was apprehensive the first time I tried it, but wow, is it ever DELICIOUS!! And a great way to get some fruit/veggies in for the day. You HAVE TO try it to appreciate it! 2 cups spinach leaves 1 medium banana 1 cup skim milk 1 tablespoon honey 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 drop flaxseed oil Put…

How do you weigh YOUR chicken?
I always use frozen chicken breast. It obviously weighs more frozen than when grilled. So when entering the chicken into my food diary, should I enter the frozen weight or grilled weight?

Exercise and Weigh-ins
I'm in a really fun challenge here on MFP, and our weekly weigh-ins are Monday mornings. To see the best weight-loss result for myself, do you think I should weigh-in immediately after waking up and using the restroom? OR, should I weigh-in after waking up and exercising a good half-hour to hour?

Let's Party!!
So I'm going out with a bunch of friends this weekend, first time since I've changed my eating habits. And going to an around-the-world buffet the same night. I usually try and stay positive, but I smell trouble here..... I'm starting to freak out about how I can control my calorie, sodium, etc. intake while being with all…

Subway Help, Please?
OK, I'll make this short and sweet. On the Subway food guide, it states a 6" chicken breast sub, for example, is 300+ cals, 5 fat, 750 sodium, 23 protein, etc. My question: is that counting the bread too, or no? Each bread is different in cals, sodium, etc. I want to be sure I log this correctly into my food diary. All…

Cotage Cheese, anyone?
I'm not at the grocery store right now, so I can't answer my own question at this time. Thinking about having a 1/2 cup of fat free cottage cheese for lunch. I entered it into my diary and I finally realized there's quite a bit of sodium for something that's just a 1/2 cup! My question: Is there such a thing as low-sodium…

Fruit Nutritional Content
I found a very interesting website, at least I found it interesting. I always wondered how accurate the nutritional content info was on here, for my food diary, when it came to fruits. Well, now I can look up the info on this website and feel assured that I'm inputting fruit info into my food diary accurately. Check it…

It's Grilling Season!
We live in frigid MN, snow still everywhere, but we're in the mood for grilled steak tonight! What's the leanest cut of steak, with great flavor?

Cake, Anyone?
I was so excited to try the infamous "brownie mix with black beans" recipe. So I went to the pantry... only to find out I have no brownie mix. Would the black bean idea work the same for a cake mix??

DATE Night!!
I'm taking my 8-year old daughter on a "Mommy/Daughter Date." We're going to a movie and dinner. My daughter is so very excited, and so am I! But.... I'm SO worried that I'll be WAY over on ALL my numbers by the end of the night tonight. I need willpower!!!

Mix it up!!
I've heard numerous times that your body gets used to the same exercise every day, then preps itself so as not to burn as many calories as you would if you mix your exercises up a bit. Question: Is it considered "mixing it up" if I do 60 minutes elliptical 2 days, then 15 minutes elliptical 1 day, then 40 minutes…

What Can I Do??
*Please feel free to look at my food diary.* So I planned out my meals today and entered them into my food diary. I still have tons of calories, carbs, protein and fat left - BUT VERY LITTLE SODIUM. (Too much sodium absolutely killed me last week, so now I'm super paranoid - I HAVE TO stay under that!!) In addition, I…

NEED ADVICE!!
*Please feel free to take a look at my food diary.* So I planned what I have already eaten/will eat for all of today. My results? I have 815 calories remaning, 130 carbs remaining, 48 fat remaining, and am at minus 8 protein (over by 8.) I still plan on burning about 600 calories today with exercise, which will increase my…

Sleepy Feet
I absolutely love my elliptical! And I have pretty nice tennis shoes. So, why is it that whenever I do the exercise, my toes feel all tingly - like my feet are sleeping! I've experienced this on different ellipticals and treadmills, so I know it's not just mine. What causes this, and what can I do to alleviate this problem?

TAKE YOUR VITAMINS!!!
That's all I seem to hear these days: You'd better be taking a daily vitamin if you're planning on eating healthier and losing weight! The thing is, I've tried a variety of daily vitamins throughout the years, but every single one made me feel very nauseous. No matter if I took it in the morning, before I ate, later in the…

COFFEE!!!!
So, I know coffee isn't bad for me, considering the calories/carbs/fat/protein content. However, I HAVE TO use creamer with my coffee - there's no way I can drink it black. AND, I can't have just a drop of creamer, I need to be able to really taste the creamer. Yet, when I enter the creamer into my food diary, I literally…
