What was the damage over the Festive period??
10lbs here...bit of a shock when I stepped on the scale this morning BUT it's motivated me. Get them off in 2 weeks then back on track!

129lb down...toning up!
Hi all, I have previously lost 140lb but regained 11lb by working out and building my muscle up a bit, still got a long way to go to be fully happy but good progress coming!

Runtastic vs Endomondo - calories burned?
Hey :) I've been happily using Endomondo for a long time now and had no problems with it but I did feel that the calories it said I had burned seemed very high. I switched to Runtastic and the calories are a lot lower (220 vs 120 cals per mile walking) so I was wondering why such a large difference? Is it to do with gross…

Finding old clothes...
Well I have been having a slight dip in confidence of late and every bad day I convince myself that I have gone back to square one, put 100lbs on overnight etc. Lol but today I found my old 48" jeans so tried them on and then didn't feel too bad :) Always nice to try on the stuff you used to squeeze into!

Logging Cardio X (from P90X)
I'm about to embark on this workout routine tonight and wanted to ask how you would go about logging it? It's a 40 minute workout I believe. There's nothing in the exercise list on MFP so I was just wondering if anybody could offer the nearest solution? Also, has anyone done this? Is it a good workout? I realise it's only…

Focus T25
A few months ago, I started Insanity but failed to complete it due to too much trauma on my knees...however, now I am back and going to try Focus T25... Does anyone have any insights into this workout program? What are the hardest workouts? Did you lose as much as you thought or not? I can't wait to get started today!

Featured in my gym's newsletter :)
My local gym have included me in their January 2014 newsletter as a 'Success Story'...feels pretty great! I'd call it a 'Work in Progress' myself, though, as i'm not done yet! It's nice for my hard work and effort to have been acknowledged by my gym, definitely motivated me even more :)

Insanity - I am READY!!
I am finally ready and confident to start my Insanity workout, can't wait to begin on Monday morning! I will use this thread when or if I have any problems as I know a lot of people can help me out :) For now though...BRING IT ON!!

No longer 'obese'
I don't really like the BMI measurement for obvious reasons but after dropping a few lbs this week, i'm now 'overweight' instead of 'obese' which is a nice feeling :) lol 20lbs to my next goal, easy :D

Insanity
Hi everyone, This question is for people who have successfully and unsuccessfully completed the 63 days of the Insanity workout... I am planning on starting it this Monday coming, but I have a few concerns. My knees are not the best at the moment, due to having overdone my gym cardio a few weeks ago. They are fine 90% of…

Breaking a plateau...
...is just the best feeling ever! I'd been the same weight for the past FIVE weigh ins and was starting to lose motivation a little, but then changing up a few things resulted in 2lb loss this week, i'm back on the horse...woooo!

Good earphones for treadmill / street running?
Hi, I was wondering what the best earphones are that people are using for when they are running? My current ones fall out of my ears or come loose a bit so I can hear lots of background noise. I'm looking for some that won't fall out my ears and that manage to block out all of the background noise associated with a busy…

That feeling you get...
...when you have been on a plateau for a few weeks / months and then pull out a big loss all of a sudden. Nothing makes me feel better about myself than seeing a nice big loss after getting sick of seeing tiny losses / gains for so long. Wahoo :)

That feeling you get...
When you have bust a gut, either in the gym or on the street...you can't beat it :) Just getting back into it after months of procrastinating and WOW i feel awesome :D Exercise ROCKS lol Off to do some more :P

Getting back on the horse?
Hey :) Well, i've previously had quite a lot of success and dropped 120lbs but about 30lb have crept back on due (in part) to me having a bad back and being unable to exercise how I did previously. My diet went back to being poor as well (no excuses for that part) and now that my back is fixed I am ready to start again in…

Favourite things to make in slow cooker?
Hi, i've just discovered the beauty (and convenience) of a slow cooker and would love it if you could share some great healthy dishes that I can make in it :) Thanks!

Need motivation to get back into it...
Hi :) I had gone down from 371lb to 245lb about 18 months ago, but due to a back injury (and poor diet choices at times) I have gained back 20lb and am now 265lb. Last week I had Facet Joint Injections in my back and these have stopped the pain for the most part so I am wanting to re-lose those 21lb as well as a further…

Before and After...
Well I have posted similar topics in the past, but just wanted to update it since i'm back losing and toning up etc. The photo on the left is me at a party in March 2009 at 371lbs, the one on the right is during a day-long trek last week at 259lb I did get down to 244lb last year, but didn't even take a photo of this and…

Can you name some filling but also low calorie / low fat foo
Hey everyone, I'm generally doing alright with my diet and exercise after taking a break for a few months, straight back into it and it's going well. One thing I have noticed is that I never feel full really and tend to want to snack. I've tried having water or green tea instead, but it doesn't really work for me. What are…

Well it only took 7 months...
But i FINALLY broke my plateau...7 MONTHS...unbelievable, I tried everything I could, changed my routine, my diet a few times, tried more calories, less calories....nothing worked. Now, all of a sudden it's started again. Woo. -2.2lbs in 7 months

No longer look like Jabba!
Well I was browsing through my friend's facebook pics from last year and found this awful pic of me right before I went on my diet in March 2009. It is a horrible pic, but compared to the one from August 2010 I am just happy I don't look like Jabba the Hutt any longer! Haha ;-)

Back to gym...
Hey :-) I had previously been to the gym pretty regimentally for 4 - 5 days a week from April 09 to November 09 while losing all of my weight. I stopped going to the gym after a trip to the US and didn't start again. I kept doing cardio on the street etc. but I never really felt like i'd worked out as hard as I used to in…

Wedding Suit..
Hey :) One of the main reasons I had started my weight loss journey back in April last year was because my cousin was getting married and I wanted to look alright in the suit at the wedding. I'd never worn or owned one before (for obvious reasons) and was determined to not only fit into one but look good at the wedding.…

When you read people's food diaries...
...and notice they are really, really under-eating or something, do you feel like you should send them a message to say something about it to try and help/educate them? Someone's diary I saw the other day, they were eating like 800-1000 cals a day with a daily goal of like 3800 after exercise. This actually made me worry…

Take To The Streets
Does anybody else use this site? It's basically a site letting you track your calories, distance and route via GPS - using a tool called GreatTrainer. If you go on it and register, then you can download the application to your phone. It says it is for Blackberry only but it works on my Nokia E71 just fine, i've been using…

How many days without losing until it's considered a plateau
I think I have gone about 7 or 8 days now without seeing the scales move. I was going to only weigh myself once per week, but that didn't happen lol. Anyway, I was just wondering how long you go before you assume you have plateaued? I really would like to think I can kickstart any day now! I'm not too disheartened because…

Just thought i'd share my story :)
Well I have been on MFP for about 2 weeks now and already find it a great help! I actually started my transformation back in April 2009, when I saw a really bad photo of me at a party! (The top left photo below!) I had gotten up to 370lbs (371 actually! ;) ) and felt terrible in myself, I was in XXXL clothes and even then…

Guesstimating!
I play pool for a local team here in the UK, and they put on a lot of good (read calorie-laden) food for the teams. I am always very tempted - who isn't - by this kind of thing. I keep resisting though because even though I know I have a lot of calories left every day, I am totally unsure how much is in each piece of…
