Can you really eat over calories if you balance with exercis
I know that exercise can't outweigh an unhealthy diet, but I'm just getting started AGAIN. 1200 calories is extreme when you've been eating approximately 3,000 a day. Today, I've stayed within my calorie goal according to MFP with 40 minutes of exercise. I feel like I will be able to stick with the plan if I can balance…

Looking to buy a new heart rate monitor
I have a Polar F4 that I've had for quite some time, and I LOVE it. In fact, I will hard exercise without it. However, it is dying. I'm looking to buy a new one. I find that the chest strap often loses connection during activities like zumba. Any suggestions? I'm looking for accuracy and ease of use. Thanks in advance.

Please help
Okay -- I'm trying my darndest to figure out how to zig zag calories. Can someone please help? I have visited freedieting.com, but I'd really like to be able to remember my targets rather than looking them up each day (if that makes sense). I do understand the days 1 & 2 calorie deficit, day 3 maintenance, etc. I still…

Counting fat grams?
Has anyone tried counting fat grams instead of calories? A local weight loss clinic told me that I could either count calories or fat grams within a day. I wonder if I'd do better counting fat grams, since I seem to be failing miserably at the calorie thing. Just curious if there is a website like myfitnesspal for counting…

Does anyone else want to just say FORGET IT?
I am 5'3" tall and weigh 145 lbs. I would ideally like to lose 20 lbs. However, it seems that it is so hard to get the weight to come off. I get so tired of counting everything that goes in mouth. I exercise 4 - 5 times each week, and I don't really mind that at all. I'm starting to enjoy it. Does anyone else want to just…

Okay, so I'm exercizing consistently 4-5 times each week. I do a combination of exercises to change things up ... treadmill, exercise bike, walking outdoors, spin class, dvds, etc. However, as I have put on shorts and pants several times lately it feel as if my thighs are getting bigger rather than smaller. Could this…

Addicted to great feedback -- workout ?
I'm addicted to the wonderful feedback that I get from posting on these boards. I have a hrm and I burn approximately 300 calories for a 45 minute workout. That doesn't seem like a whole lot since I see that some folks burn around 600 when they workout. Am I not doing enough?? Thanks!

Zumba question
I really, really want to start zumba, but our local gym only offers it one day a week. Are there any really good DVDs? The ones that I've looked at are around $100. I hate to spend that much, but are there any other alternatives? Thanks in advance!

Arms and abs every day?
I am doing my share of cardio, but I really want to tone up my arms and abs. Is it okay to do arm and ab exercises every day? I've heard in the past that you should only strength train a few times each week, but I want to see RESULTS.

Diet drinks -- need help
I am addicted to pepsi/coke and I am finding that if I could take those out of my diet, I think I'd be able to easily stay within 1200 calories a day. However, I drink approx. 400-600 calories a day by drinking regular sodas. I know that the healthy answer is to get rid of carbonated drinks and drink water, BUT ... I've…

Going over calories -- 1200 daily
My daily calorie goal is 1200 calories. I find myself going over each day by about 200 hundred calories. I typically workout and burn 300-400 calories. So I'm eating those back and still slightly going over. Is this going to be detrimental for me in the long run? I've always been a really big eater, so cutting back to this…

Exercise bike? It is okay isn't it?
I am an avid reader, and I like to spend lots of time in the summer reading. I have decided to ride my exercise bike while reading during the day. Riding at a speed that I can read at doesn't really get my heart rate very high, but I do wear a heart rate monitor. I burned 200 calories while reading this afternoon. Even…

Topomax
My doctor prescribed topomax for me this week to help with migraines, and she also said that should help control appetite. Another thing she said was that it would really be helpful in my attempts to give up cokes. Has anyone exeperienced weight loss with topomax? I'm still up in the air about whether or not I want to take…

Adipex?
I had an old prescription of adipex in my cabinet with only a handful left. I decided a couple of days ago to finish them up since I can't seem to get myself on the weight loss train. I've taken them for the past three days (actually I only take a half pill), but in the afternoons I get so cranky and feel so yucky. I feel…

Am I really THAT weak?
I've tried doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred a few times before, and I just gave up because it is so hard. I got it out again today, and MAN. I cannot keep up with her for 20 minutes. I felt like I only did about half the video. Has anyone else experienced this? Does it get easier? Am I really that wimpy? I can walk for…

Need help
I am keenly aware that water is the best thing to drink, but I am addicted I mean really addicted to pepsi. I'm drinking so many calories a day by falling to this addiction. I do not like diet drinks at all, but I think I have to learn to like them. Can anyone give me tips on how to make the transition to diet cokes? I…

Help! Eating almost obsessively
Help! I am really getting worried about the way I eat obsessively. I love, love, love food ... like many others I'm sure. I just can't seem to control myself. Today, for example, I did really well until around 5:00 p.m. I even passed up an ice cream at Dairy Queen when two other people in the car were treating themselves.…

Drinking calories
I am SO addicted to pepsi ... not diet pepsi ... plain old pepsi. I'm finding that I drink lots of my calories, and I am really trying to like diet drinks and water, but I HATE it. Does anyone else fight this battle? Am I just going to have to suck it up?
