COVID lockdown weight gain
I know it has become a meme but has anyone else gained some weight during lock down? I'm back to work this week so I'm trying to get back on track, low carb works for me as well as cutting out all alcohol. I'm feeling bad that all my work clothes are feeling so tight!!!

The COVID lockdown weight gain
I'm trying to get rid of some extra weight I gained during the lockdown. My area is coming out of the lockdown gradually and I'm back to work now so less time near the fridge. Definitely put on a few pounds though. I'm going low carb and cutting out the wine. Any other thoughts?

Back on board
As of the beginning of Sept I re-started kicking carbs out of my diet. I've done one week of lazy keto but am getting more serious now. Any encouragement is good, I've got 10-15 lbs to lose :)

Couch bound after recent surgery
Hi, I'm stuck on the couch for the next few weeks following a total ankle replacement. I can crutch around a bit but can't put my foot down for 6 weeks! I also rented a knee walker so I can get out a bit but I've already fallen off of it once and don't want to hurt myself. I'm looking for a simple meal plan to help me from…

Back on the wagon :)
Why do I get off the wagon??? Anyway, I'm back low carbing it again. I have spent the last 3 months feeling sorry for myself because I've had ankle surgery! Too much couch time and bon bons! Why does everyone send chocolates! Anyway I've been back at the gym 3 weeks working out the kinks and also have rededicated myself to…

2 months in and doing great!
I just have to say that after 2 months I'm feeling really good. No more carb cravings, no more blood sugar highs and lows, no more starving hungry 2 hrs after I last ate and no more nighttime foraging. I haven't been completely ultra low carb but I've cut it down a lot. I am seeing positive changes in mt body and am…

Question about LCHF for a recovering anorexic
My best friend is struggling to recover from anorexia. I was talking to her yesterday and she was telling me about the meal plan she is following. It has a lot of carbs in it and she told me that she is afraid to eat more because she is constantly hungry and is afraid she will binge. I talked to her about increasing her…

Starting to see my old body emerging
It has been about a month since I started LCHF and I have yet to stand on a scale. I have scale phobia! Anyway I'm seeing results in the mirror and some of my old clothes are stating to fit. I am really quite amazed at my results as I am truly not hungry. My carb craving have settled down. I still feel tempted by…

No appetite in the morning
I'm having trouble chocking down breakfast. I need to eat though because once I get into work I often don't get another chance until lunch. Any ideas for LC smoothies? Those I can drink on the way in. I'm experiencing egg fatigue though :( No more eggs!

Improvement in bowel function
Sorry if this is too much info but I've noticed my IBS getting better. I was concerned that without grains I would get constipated but this has not been the case. As well the bloating and other symptoms are getting better. Any thoughts?

Carb hangover over, thank goodness
So after 3 days back on LCHF I'm feeling good again. I was at another BBQ part last night and although the pasta salad and other carb dishes looked yummy I stayed with protein and green salad. I avoided alcohol and just had sparkling water instead. I woke up today feeling great! It is a challenge dealing with eating out…

What about keto strips
Is is advisable to use these to check if I'm doing this right? If so where do I get them?

How fast does it take to get back on track?
I ate quite a lot of carbs and had glass of wine with dinner last night. Today I woke up this morning starving hungry headachey and groggy. Honestly just one glass of wine! Today has been a bit of a challenge, I'm back on LCHF but feeling a bit headachey and sluggish. Is it possible this is all from eating carbs last…

So weird not to be hungry
I'm on day 7 and am just amazed that I am not constantly craving eating. Normally it is all I can think about from I'm over morning to night. I actually haven't felt that true hunger in a while. I'm over the worst of the shakiness and weird feeling I think and am making sure my salt and fat intake is staying up. It is just…

Starting again...
I'm coming out of winter hibernation and have a few pounds to lose. LC has been the only thing that works for me without turning me into a starving maniac. My question is how do I go about logging my food on the diary? I don't want to count calories and when I'm eating LC the macros are out of whack with the…

Sick as a dog and off the wagon :(
I have been battling a horrible cold for the past two weeks. I've been craving comfort foods and am too tired to work out. I'm hoping to get back the weekend but woke up feeling yucky. Any ideas on how to beat this?

Low carb vs keto?
I've tried actually doing the keto diet for a while, while I kept it up for a few weeks and saw great results I just don't think I can do it forever. I do feel much better not eating too many carbs . Much less hungry between meals and better energy, I'm actually sleeping better too. Any ideas for low carb macros vs keto…

I need help with figuring out my macros
I'm finding keeping my macros in check difficult. I'm 5'4" 130 lbs trying to get to 120 ish and am 49 years old and moderately active. Walking 30-60 min/day and moderate weight lifting 3 times/wk. So far I've tried changing my macros on MFP but can't seem to get the proportions right. any thoughts?

10 lbs by Christmas
I've got the last 10 lbs to go, is it reasonable to expect this to be gone by Christmas? I've lost the first 15 very slowly. Going up and down a bit, but I'd like this last 10 off so I can wear some of my old dresses and not have to buy new ones! Any thoughts?

One week on and feeling better
Hi, I just started this. I've lost 10 lbs of the 20 I have to lose by doing the calorie counting thing but I've stalled and wanted to give this a try. My first week was hard but I'm feeling better now. I'm still having some difficulty with eating fat as I've been low fat for many years. Any words of wisdom?

Logging fitness activities on MFP vs fitbit adjustments
I'm considering stopping logging my exercise on MFP as my Fitbit sync's with it and seems to be pretty accurate. It seems redundant to do bot. Anyone out there who has more experience with this as far as accuracy goes?

Half way there!
I just stepped on the scale for the first time in a while, I get kind of nervous about the numbers especially if they plateau for a while. Anyway, I was happy to see the scale at 130 lbs which is half way to my goal of 120 lbs. Losing that first 10 lbs took 4 months but hopefully that means it stays off. I find that MFP…

Afraid to set on the scale
About 4 weeks ago I stopped weighing myself. The scale hadn't moved in a while and I was getting discouraged. I'm still eating pretty well and exercising, just afraid that if I step on the scale and it shows no progress or worse, that I've gain weight, I'll be discouraged again. Clothes are fitting better and I think I…

What to wear to the gym?
OK, so after saying I can't get to the gym an offer for a free 1 month trial membership arrived at my door. I'm tempted to try it out but I don't know what is appropriate to wear. When I work out at home I just wear a pair of running shorts and sports bra UNDER a T shirt. I think the running shorts won't be a good idea at…
