calories
Hi all, I've struggled to lose at 1200 cals so have gone up to 1470 this last week. I have lost since start of feb 3.5lb in total but part of that was a gain from 1st feb as it was my birthday so likely not a real loss (if that makes sense). I am up from when i started uni last sept by 7lb still and it's really annoying…

kettlebell - Strength training best weight?
I'm thinking these would work as a transition from my 3kg dumbbells with a view to strength training so low rep numbers. What weight should I aim for at minimum? I'm not rich but hope to add two. I'm 5'3" / 40 and although I lifted in gyms years ago and in circuit training I haven't done any weights for about 15 years now.…

USN Protein Dessert
Anyone use these? Are they nice? Am tempted as I'm a total pudding lover and this is my weak point - in moderation these days... I no longer eat half a cheesecake. :blushing: I have in the past cut up a protein bar and popped it into the freezer so I have some very hard / chewy 'sweets' but something that is a pudding…

Are they weight, body fat, inches.. or just feel good based? How and why do / did you choose them? What to expect - Calories and Losses
Hi all, Started 30 DS last night. I've taken measurements and pics -which are still really scary. I am hoping to see improvements - but realise 30 days is not going to cut it. Plank - easy method?
Hi all, I have added a few of the Wii muscle exercises in to start toning up and making me do things I don't normally.. now one of them is what I'd call a 'plank' - they call it something different. But even 2 years post baby I am not able to hold this steady for more than 15 seconds. Should I carry on from that point or…

Hi, all am trying to form a 'routine' for introducing dumbells. I wondered if you have some top tips on types to do, how many sets and reps etc. Or perhaps good websites to look on? Jogging on the spot V's C25K week 1
Hi all, wondered if there is truly any benefit to jogging on the spot ? I've just started the Couch to 5K plan with my DD (aged 12) and it's raining today.. we were planning day 2 today as I'm out of the house from before 7am and not back till nearly 9pm tomorrow - too late to then take DD running. Teenager - Circuit training interest
Hi all, my eldest is soon to be13. She is not very 'sporty' in that she doesn't enjoy the general sports at school. She enjoys body boarding in the summer and we do a lot of walking in the warmer…

Human - The world changes 1 step further
On the back of the horse thread... I wanted to add a scenario The world is in a bad economic state but we've all got to eat.. haven't we? tips for beating a plateau...
Ok.. I'm at 1200 calories, I ride 3-4 times a week. I don't eat my calories for riding but have tried this and gained.. so it's obviously not my bodies 'way' to eat them. If I up my calories I gain.. but if I stick to 1200 I stay the same weight. I've lost a lot this year (for me) but am dwindling now and losing motivation…

Ths IS a fantastic resource, with fantastic members, some have a different sense of humour from others,…

where do you live.. in pictures..
Ok, after getting to grips with time zones, where people live etc, I thought it would be nice to show people WHERE we live.. in pictures.
