Rotator Cuff Surgery Experience
It is looking more and more like my shoulder is going to need to be repaired. I have done the PT, and the Cortisone shots and I am still having pain when moving in certain ways. What is your experience? A couple of sites said that it is 6 weeks until it can be moved, and months until full recovery.

Trainer's Challenge, A Good Workout!
I took a cardio class at the YMCA. Each week we do the following as a timed exercise. A year ago I couldn't complete it. Yesterday I did it in 3:54 seconds - after I ran a mile warm up. Lots of folks ask for advice, or are concerned that they don't' have money for the gym or home training equipment. Well, if you are like…

I started out not having done much of anything but sit in an office chair, I have had a number of NSVs: lost inches in the waist; down to 34 from 40. I eat much better food than I ever did.…

Lunches I Can Freeze - Please Share One!
I am looking for some easy recipes that I can put together and freeze. They need to be no more than 400 calories. (Even less is better) I prefer higher protein over higher carbs - but if it is good, I can work it in. IE: lasagna is not on the list. Black Bean Chile 1 can of rinsed black beans 1 lg can of stewed or diced…

Calories Up or Down?
I have been working with a nutritionist. She is very knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. We have discussed my food logs for 3 months and her is where I am at. I lost 2-3 lbs per week when I got started, and then I hit a plateau 60 days ago. - Our first meeting was to discuss what I ate. IE: Sodium, fiber, and good carbs vs…

The ABCs of Weight Loss on MFP
So I was hanging out with my 7-year-old learning both English and Spanish, when I decided to quiz her on the ABCs. It was sort of fun coming up with a word for each letter. Today I was on a *snore* conference call at work and whipped this up for you guys here on MFP. You might learn something - or maybe not, and be mildly…

Serious Plateau
I have been losing weight since 2/2011 and until the end of June, I had been doing a pound or two a week. Then I started working with a nutritionist. She cut the sodium (which is good for my BP and made a huge difference), and added 300 more calories to my diet of mostly fruit and bean protein. There are certainly more…

Love to Exercise, but Hate the Gym
Ok, it's winter for me here in New England. I can't run or ride a bike in the dark. Sure, there are still a few weeks left, but I have gone every day since I was in the hospital in April. A home gym is out of the question for the moment. I wrote a blog a few days ago, but it was more for fun. But this mornings frost really…
