41 lbs in 4 months! (With pics)
Almost to the half-way mark of my transformation! I am 27, and 5'7" on a good day. At my heaviest I was 268, April of 2013. I'd gained most of it due to depression after the end of a 4 year relationship, a move across the country, where I was faced with sudden homelessness and unemployment. I've come a long way since then.…

Losing Weight For A Career Change
I was wondering if anyone else is dropping considerable weight (more than 50 lbs) to make a career change. I'm about halfway to my goal (-118 lbs) in order to pass the Physical Abilities Test in order to become a police officer. It's a huge step away from what I'm currently doing now (I have a desk job as an editor) and I…

Bananas are killing my macros
I eat a banana almost every morning. It's delicious, filling, but man does it kill my carb intake for the day. Fruit constitutes most of my carbs for the day, especially if I eat an apple in the afternoons. Usual carb additions throughout the day include brown rice, whole wheat tortillas and a fiber granola bar. Usually, I…

23 Pounds in 60 Days! Anything is Possible.
I'll start off by saying I'm not shy of photos, or of myself. I am what I am, take me or leave me. But I started a new life June 1, 2014 In the span of 2 weeks I had a new apartment, a new job, new car, new gym. I was able to just toss all of the bad mojo out of my life, and find good, active things to fill it with. I've…

Advice at the Gym
This is the first time I've ever actually said something to someone working out. Usually, at the gym I"m focused, in my zone, and have no interest in conversations. That being said, I saw a heavier girl (probably 260) on the leg press machine, just like jamming along at less than 100 lbs, and clearly had no idea what she…

Excellent Video Explanation of Calories
I found the best video via buzzfeed today which illustrates common questions found on this forum. http://msnvideo.msn.com/?channelindex=3&from=en-us_msnhp#/video/a81f5a86-fa8a-4c16-9914-c622902a623a

NSV Running Milestone
I ran the mile, for the first time ever, under 15 minutes. I managed 14:42. I remember in High School and Middle School being unable to 'make' the Presidential Fitness Test. The run was the -only- thing I couldn't qualify for as you were required to run it in less than 15 mins. Can only improve from here! Woo-Hoo!

Trouble with Multi-Vitamin
I'm just curious if anyone else has the same trouble with Multi-Vitamins as I do. Every time I take one, with food or without, I feel nauseous like 20-30 mins later. I've never gotten to the point of a dash to the porcelain throne, but man, does it suck. I've switched different brands, and nothing seems to help. Ack.

Tips for Lowering Sodium intake?
I'm trying to find new ways to lower my sodium intake because I feel it's too high. It's difficult to avoid in some pre-made sauces and I've tried not to use salt while seasoning my food. (chicken breast, rice, etc.) and I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for avoiding sodium.

Losing Weight With Depression
Losing weight is a struggle all on its own, as I'm sure most people here are aware. It requires being motivated to change, and caring about yourself enough to make good decisions without turning to the comforts that were once available. My last attempt at MFP was great, I spent 6 months counting calories and working out…

Tips and tricks for acing the police physical
In college I had my mind made up to enter the police academy when I graduated and become a police officer. I dropped almost 80 pounds, was well on my way, and then life happened. I gained back 100 pounds and now, 5 years later I'm driven to start again. Thanks to MFP and a regular exercise regime I've dropped about 40…

Happy Friday NSV!
Today at work, while dreading Friday, and wishing for 5 p.m. to hurry up and getting here, I turned my head, happened to reach up, and discovered a new body part! Turns out, it wasn't new, just lost. Hello collarbone! It's nice to meet you! It's been a very long time, and I look forward to seeing more of you.

My first 5k! - Biggest Loser Runwalk Seattle
So I've been working my way through the Couch to 5k ap, and decided I -had- to sign up for a 5k in my area, to dedicate myself to it, and there's no better way than to register and pay! Money is one hell of a motivator. So I signed up for the Biggest Loser RunWalk in Seattle on October 13th. I'm super excited! And waaaay…

Dealing with jealousy. Help!
Anyone else having an issue with family members/friends being jealous about your weightloss sucess? My younger sister (who is also on the heavy side) has started making rude remarks and snide comments everytime I celebrate a small victory outloud. For example: I recently compared two of my weightloss pics, for some NSV…

3 months and progress!
The pic on the left is one of the only full body shots I could find of myself before, around my heaviest. Like most people, fat people don't like photos, it forces them to see the truth. And no one likes the truth when you're that big. It was Halloween, yes I'm Woody, my date was Buzz Lightyear. We had a blast. On the…

Looking for friends!
Female, 5'7" started off at 268. Looking for similar friends for support I lost 80 pounds before a few years ago through excessive exercise and deprivation. It all came back. Doing it the right way this time. Slow and steady wins the race. Feel free to add me! My Diary is open, to hold myself accountable.

Trouble taking a day off?
For the last two weeks I've gone out and done something highly active, and I'm finding it difficult to force myself to take a day of rest. I feel like I should still be out, walking/running/strength training, something. I was wondering if anyone else had run in to this issue. I know I should rest, I'm just hesitant to.
