104lbs down, but my brain hasn't caught up!
It's been a wild ride! I started this leg of my journey at the end of April 2023. I weighed in at 300lbs and went into a PANIC. I didn't know how I had let myself get that heavy and to be honest, I knew I was big because I've always been big. I was chunky at two weeks old and stayed that way my entire life, and I'm still…

FTM 5'5 206 LBS looking to lose fat and gain a fair amount of muscle
I think body recomposition would be in my best interest, but I don't want to look too big. I want to have broad shoulders and a big back. That's for sure. Legs are too big!! I think I already have a decent amount of muscle. I just have a high body fat percentage. I'm currently taking in ~1,200 calories a day since I'm…

Can I set Mini-Goals for Weight Loss?
My overall weight loss goal is to lose 30 pounds. However, along the way I'd like to set mini-goals (or milestones) for weight loss so that I feel successful in the small successes. My vision is to set a milestone mini-goals of 5 pounds each. Is there a way to do that in MFP? I know that I can alter my overall weight loss…

What is a healthy weight loss pace?
Some people drop weight faster than others but I'm interested to hear what is the ideal healthy weight loss within say 6 weeks? I've been eating well and seeing a PT for 8 weeks now, since then my weight loss has been a lot slower than usual, with me dropping about 1/2 kg in that time.

Should you eat the calories gained by exercise?
I'm currently following MFP recommendations of 1700cal a day but gain 2500cal hiking 3 times a week and a few more circuit training and am wondering if I'm eating enough?

Any advice on strengthening my core?
I suffer from lower back pain and sciatica, both caused by anterior and lateral pelvic tilt and due to a motorcycle accident and excess weight. I'm wanting to build the muscles required to hopefully fix the pelvic tilt, while I work on my weight loss. The problem is, I'm new to weight training. I am quite strong anyway,…

First Pound Lost!
I wanted to share the news that I lost my first pound. Obviously, this is not an impressive accomplishment by any means (especially in comparison to some of your success stories), but it’s meaningful to me because it is an objective acknowledgment that I am making progress. My next mini-goal is to lose 5 lbs: hopefully…

Honestly haven't thought much of my weight in years and was under the blissfull ignorance I was still the same 230 I was at my doctor's appointment last summer 😆 Not that 230 is "ideal" for my height, but I digress. The only reasons I realized I gained was all of my pants are…

Unsure exactly how much to eat to meet goals
Hello, if I have the data currently set to about 2800 calories a day with a goal of losing 0.5 calories a week, am I supposed to eat exactly to 2800? Or go below? How much below? I'm just realizing now that losing weight probably means going under calorie figures and I need help knowing how to adjust.

4 Million in 2024
Ok, here is my plan....... anyone who wants to join in would be welcome. 4 million steps in 2024...... that is an average of 11K per day. I am adding a few things myself, like food tracking and some short-circuit training, but the main drive is to get me back out walking. Starting Monday, maybe I can find some friends (or…

Is it possible to be a size 2 at 5"8
I used to be 5"8 and 151 pounds and I wore a size 10 in jeans. Due to medication related weight gain, I'm now 5"8 and about 220 pounds wearing a size 14-16 in jeans. Once and for all, I really want to get down to a smaller size. How would I become a size 2 at 5"8?

Hi. I'm Angela. I'm pushing 60 and am trying to lose significant weight for the third time in my life. The first time, I lost 50 lbs, by writing down my food and upping my exercise.
