Jenny's Progress :)
Hello! I'm Jenny, from Ireland  I just thought I'd open this thread up to help me keep motivated! Started out a few years ago eating 1,300 a day with great success till 18 months or so ago when it all came to a grinding halt. Starting weight: 172 Current weight: 176 BMR: 1582 TDEE: 2453 Activity level:…

Back, and willing to do it;)
Just a quick note to let anyone reading know that I had joined this group, but never participated. I did hear some things that sunk in evidently, because I started eating very well in early 2012. I didn't lose any weight because I was still, mostly sedentary. Then, I had gotten up to 142 (light-weight to some but to fat…

Hya guys!

Help! Wha to do with eating back exercise burned.
Hello, About three years ago when I started to lose weight I was on the low cal diet. About a year ago I realised I needed to eat more. Now though, I feel like I'm eating a good amount. My Total Calorie intake average over the week is 1,700 - 1,800 calories a day. I run three times a week and walk for an hour 5 days a…

Trust the process
I run 25-30 miles a week and weight lift 3 days a week for 30-45 mins. I had been keeping my calories around 1600 and as a result was always tired, hungry, and not seeing any progress in my strength, speed, or physique really. I decided to try upping my calories and just jumped up to 2000 calories about 4 weeks ago. Hello…

Cardio
So i'm sure this has been asked like a million times, so please forgive me. How much cardio do you guys do? I was doing almost 6 days a week or cardio, with a mix of steady state and hiit. But im finding out i'm doing too much and should just stick with 2x15 min HIIT sessions and 2x15 steady state sessions a week.

Looking for friends to start this new journey!
Hey everyone! I'm one week in with EM2WL and so far I think it's been pretty good! I haven't lost any weight, but this week I've eaten over 2000 calories every single day, and one day even hit 3000 because that 8oz sirloin steak had been calling my name for way too long. I've got a really accurate activity tracker (TomTom…

Body Recomp
So I'm giving this eating more thing another chance. It took me getting a Fitbit and seeing that my body burns about 2500-2600 calories a day with exercise. I was eating 1600 calories a day. So that was about 1000 calories under a day. I'm guessing this is why my body would store the fat. On workout days I'll consume more…

Hungry all the time??
So after a period of relative restriction (in quasi-recovery after 5 years of anorexia, and having already gained 12kg) I began upping my calories in September to around 1700 a day (as a weekly avergae - sometimes less, sometimes more but it evens out). I also began heavy weight lifting 4x a week in November and have seen…

Is it normal??
Is it normal when you cut to feel moody/irritable? Is anyone else feeling that way during their cut? I thought it was because of TOM, but that has left and the serious irritability/moodiness is still lingering...

Trying - but getting frustrated
I am trying this whole reset thing, but starting to get frustrated as my clothes are getting tighter and the pounds and inches are slowly increasing. I am eating between 1850 and 2200 and have been since October. Big change from eating 1000 to 1200. For the last couple of weeks clothes are tighter, inches increasing in all…

Listen to hunger, or aim for more calories?
Hi all, Someone suggested I ask this question here: Over the past couple of months I've been slowly aiming to eat more to give my metabolism a bit of a boost and to support my exercise program. Currently I'm eating approximately BMR + exercise calories (so cycling my intake around my training) and averaging about 85% of my…

Shorties who found success with this WOE?
Hey guys, I am fascinated by the concept that I could lose weight while not being starving, grumpy, and feeling deprived all the time. I have done the dieting yo-yo for years including all of the fad diets and the frequent return to the 1,200 calorie diet where I usually find success (though very slowly). I have finally…

A humming metabolism
I posted this on my newsfeed yesterday, but thought I would repost here, beacuse to me it sums up what EM2WL is about, whether you are weeks in, months in, or years in. It is not a DIEt it is a total lifestyle  Hee hee. My macros were screwed today from 10.30 this morning when a dark chocolate bunny jumped into my…

Dumb mental game
It's so hard to not cut back to 1700 calories which is what I was eating when loosing weight after my son. Is 1700 too low anyway?? Ugh....

trying to reset, need assistance
After years of Weight Watchers, I think I have killed my metabolism. I have been diagnosed with Graves Disease which is auto immune and attacks the thyroid, causing it to go hyper (which means I should lose weight without trying along with other symptoms) In the last 6 years, I have exercised, ate right and was lucky to…

I'd love a few EM2WL friends who can understand my limitations
Hi there. It's been a few years since I visited the EM2WL forum. I miss it. I've been quietly losing by myself over here and have knocked off 55 pounds already. Really as a side effect of my diet. Due to Meniere's disease, I have to keep my salt about the same amount every day and my sugar low, so once I have reached those…

Protein and fatigue ??
Today is my second day of hitting my Protein target but I am sat here feeling very sleepy and this reminded me that last night at about 21:30 I was so tired I felt like going to bed ! Could there be a reason linked to my recent increase in Protein? Thanks

Gamin upload
Cancel this request I have since learn that I should not automatically sync because Garmin as it will adjust automatically I have to treat Garmin and MFP as individuals and manually enter exercise. Thank you Hi All I have set everything up on MFP to EM2WL. That of course includes all my exercise calories. Built in. I have…

Protein victory !
This may seem a bit insignificant but for me this is such a result ! *drum roll please....* I have managed to eat/plan to use ALL of my 30% Protein today ! (105g of it!). Its so hard when you're not used to eating protein, and then you find the fat content makes it very difficult not to blow all your other numbers! Ok so…

Question about Metabolism
After years and years of yo-yo dieting, restricting calories, etc., I know that my metabolism is pretty bad. Since October I have been eating a minimum of 1800-2000 calories and not starving myself anymore. I have limited my workouts until recently and backed off the six days a week cardio, trying to not stress my body…

New here hi
Admittedly I am an ex habitual under eater. A starvation artist is my flowery way of putting it. But have not been in about nine years though I do have my days. Due to a change in medication and quitting smoking last year I began to gain weight. I ignored it because I feared I would go back to old habits. I gained thirty…

Just starting - Am I doing this right?
Hi - i'm new at this (EM2LW) and have read loads (stickies, quick start guide), watched a few of the youtube videos and done my calculations using Scooby etc, but just want to check that i'm setting about this the right way? For the past 10 years I have been on and off my 1100 - 1300 cals and trying to do cardio 3 times a…

Metabolism Reset
So I’ve been kind of implementing EM2WL on my own for a few days now, but remember seeing a MFP group for this, and went looking specifically for it because I’m struggling a lot with eating more. I’ve a long history with calorie restriction. I was put on my first diet at the age of 9. I wasn’t a ‘fat’ kid but I had…

Wanting friends in EM2WL
Sometimes I feel like I am eating too much, but I have a pretty good estimate that my TDEE is around 2500 calories per day. I have been calorie counting on MFP since June 25th 2015 and I have eaten an average of 2250 calories per day and I have lost an average of half a pound per week. So, I'm thinking my TDEE is about…

Is this right for me? Looking for some advice!
Hi everyone! I've been reading these discussions and the EM2WL website for weeks, but still haven't taken the plunge. The main reason is I'm not sure if I fall into the category of needing a metabolism reset. Sorry this is a little long winded, hopefully someone will read and give me their opinion. Here's a little bit…
