Having a rough day and need ideas if you have any.
As many of you know by now, I have a collagen disorder called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I have finally gotten my calorie intake up to 2000 calories a day most days (it's been a long road getting here) and I have been lifting light weights for a few months now. I started with two pounds and worked my way up to 4 lbs. I have…

Trust the Process
A good blog post to remind you that this is a JOURNEY, not a quick fix. You cannot expect things to change overnight, so stop beating yourself up about it when it doesn't come that quickly. Enjoy the journey and trust that this is the right way to end your dieting cycles. http://eatmore2weighless.com/trust-process/

One month in but look the same? Bigger? Weight the same.
Honest opinion. Will not be offended. Same? Bigger? Can't really tell. Weight is the same. Pic on left is from last month. Right is today.

Body Image, the thin line between loathing and love
I usually don't care for Facebook blast from the past, but today it gave me back this article that I shared three years ago: https://brianabolic.wordpress.com/2013/05/15/body-image-the-thin-line-between-loathing-and-love/ , and once again it just hit the nail on the head for me. Happy Saturday everyone!

Looking for MFP friends!
Hi all! I'm just looking to add a few more friends to MFP to stay motivated. I'm 29, and have lost almost 50 lbs doing EM2WL (or IIFYM, whatever you'd like to call it). I love to get food ideas from peeking at people's journals ;) And generally support and encourage. Personally I need encouragement on starting a lifting…

love the theory, determined to actually implement it this time!
Hope it's ok to post here. I figure doing so might keep me accountable. I have lurked on this board and the EM2WL site for years (yep, actual years), and every now and then I'd work out my numbers and start, only to quit after a week or two. I'd convince myself it isn't for me because I don't lift heavy (I have a health…

Eating out once a week??
Anyone have success with fat loss but save up a few extra calories to be able to eat out on Saturdays? I'm not talking about going hog wild but maybe saving and extra 100 calories a day along with my small deficit. Sun-fri I have no issues sticking to a great plan. But I feel like Im constantly avoiding social situations…

Apple Health App?
Hi! I have my Apple Health App synced to MFP. I use my Apple Watch to track my steps and log my workouts. For some reason it's duplicating workouts. Yesterday I logged my spin class twice and today it logged my TRX class 3 times. Anyone else having issues?

New to trying to eat more and heavier lifting - What am I doing wrong?
I am hoping you all can provide some insight. I am 39, 5'3" and fluctuating between 135 and 140 lbs. Over the last 5 or 6 years I went from 150 lbs, down to 110 lbs, and now back up again. In the last year I have put on a little over 10 lbs and I feel miserable. I have 32% BF, so I feel like I have a long way to go. I…

Need some help starting out
I've been through the sticky notes and I get it. But I need some information not addressed. About me: HT 5'5", WT 205, Age 59, BMR 1509, avg 30 day TDEE by Fitbit Charge HR 2550. Moderate Activity avg daily calorie intake 1600-1700 (didn't understand net calories, so was under BMR since starting MFP). So 2 months of low…

I CAN'T EAT THAT MUCH!
So I re-calculated everything using the "Just my TDEE and Deficit Please" spreadsheet. BMR 1633 TDEE 3022 TDEG 10% 2720 TDEG 15% 2569 TDEG 20% 2418 The most I can get myself to eat in a day is around 1800! This is discouraging :(

I'm new to EM2W. Introduction and questions
Hi all. This is a new concept for me. I thought I would introduce myself and see if the EM2WL gurus think I am on the right track. I have spent my entire adolescent and adult life on low cal/low fat diets. The "best shape" I have ever been in was probably about ten years ago at 280# doing weight watchers. I was eating…

If you are overweight, should you still lift heavy weights? EM2WL article
Cardio or weights while overweight? This blogpost answers and explains why it isn't necessary to wait until we lose the weight to start lifting and why it actually is better to lift from the get go: http://eatmore2weighless.com/youre-overweight-still-lift-heavy-weights/#respond

some questions
1. am i right in thinking that the human body doesn't share our sense of time? the body cares about keeping the system running and being nourished but how long does it take for the body to realise it's being overfed or underfed? with the underfeeding, the body doesn't want to starve and shut down so they hold on to the fat…

Confused about activity-using garmin vivofit
Hey everyone. So I am new here and just discovered em2wl, but so far I love it. I don't feel like I am starving like I do with mfp calorie calcs, but I am still losing (so far, only been a week). I confused about the activity calories and could use some guidance... I use a garmin vivofit tracker. Garmin and mfp won't sync…

Why so hard for women to lose fat weight - great video
Well, you knew you had some negatives against you making it harder, and as this video starts out - it's not merely the differences in sizes. Now - before offense is taken - please be aware my comment and the video is ONLY about the perspective of the topic - losing fat weight. Especially compared to men. This is no…

do i eat according to BMR or TDEE?
using the scoobysworkshop's calculator, the stats are as follows - BMR: 2011 TDEE: 2413 20% deficit: 1930 (i am 280lbs, 5"4, female, 24 years). i'm a chronic migraine sufferer so i'm usually in bed and too tired or groggy to do simple tasks. so i am quite literally sedentary. i'm trying to change that and improve my health…

Getting started in a couple days
I'm getting started in a couple of days (Saturday). I have my meals planned for the whole week and took into account some outings with friends that I have during the week too. I'm feeling really confident about the food and my plan but am nervous about my calorie levels. I was working out 3-4 times per week, but I got a…

Why doesn't your body burn fat while your metabolism is suppressed?
I understand that when you are cutting your calories below your maintenance that your metabolism will suppress down to your eating level. But why will it do that if you have 40% or more body fat? Initially when you start cutting you will burn body fat to lose weight but at least with me it just stops and plateaus. I would…

Which activity level ?
When using the scooby tdee calculator.. Can someone explain the difference between 3-5 days of moderate exercise vs 5-6 of strenous exercise ? How many calories burned per day would each one be ? For example i am mostly very sedentary except I go to the gym for 1.5 hours 7 days a week. I dont know if my exercise is…

I made it back
I made it back from my vacation! Took another week (mom was here another full week after cruise) away from MFP and logging. I took your advice and have not stepped on the scale yet. I think I will go the full week, back on the program, before I get on the scale. Today is back to the gym and back to logging. I know that I…
