Anyone...
Anyone seeing "results" with just using Dumbbells for strength training? I saw someone posted something similar to this in another post on here but now I can't find it. I'm a stay at home mom, therefore I workout at home. Dumbbells are all I have. Can it be done or do I need to invest in gym equipment, which is not in my…

Finding victories that don't involve the scale
As I've been reading through a lot of the recent discussions I am noticing that a lot of us grow frustrated with the scale. My weight, too, has been fluctuating some but without any substantial weight loss. However, I know realistically that I have only been back to strict tracking for about 3 weeks and I will NOT throw…

I have been strength training and upped my calories and cut out processed food for 4 months. My clothes are not much looser. I Lost about 4 lbs initially but nothing since. I only…

Three Weeks of EM2WL; Sharing for Anyone Who Might Be Interested
OK, short background on me: I'm 6' 1", 44 years old, and male. Four years ago, I was at 276 pounds, and very little of that was lean muscle mass. I got aggressive about my weight loss, first with Weight Watchers, then MFP, currently MFP + Fitbit. I bottomed out a couple months ago at 189 pounds. Losing 87 pounds is a…

Calories...where to start
So I am all over the place on calories. For the past 6 years, I have dieted. Started with Weight Watchers which worked great for the first couple years. Then I started to slowly gain weight no matter how hard I tried to stop it. Since then I have been all over the place with calories anywhere from 1200-1700. Some weeks I…

How often do you take measurements.
I have just recently started eating this way. I am 72kgs 1.68cm tall. Hoping to get to 60kgs I have a Fitbit and my tdee is 2385 so I am trying to eat 1970. I have put away the scales because they were stressing me out, but I was wondering how often do you take your measurements? How long till I see results? .

HASFit
Has anyone used the 30 day workout plans on HASfit.com? I'm a total noob that's lost all the weight they can without serious muscle building. I've lost 111 pounds after having weight loss surgery, and did nothing but walk.. no strength training. I cannot afford a gym or personal trainer

Strength Training
Does anyone do strength training at home with just dumbbells? I want to start lifting and I know heavy lifting is the way to go. I only have dumbbells up to 15 pounds and a barbell from Body Pump which has a total of 37 pounds. Will this work to start out? What is the best workout to follow? My only background with lifting…

Looking for compatible MFP support
Hi! I love to lift as heavy as is possible for me, and I am loving the EM2WL lifestyle even though that part is fairly new to me. I NEED more friends here on MFP who "get" me. Two things I need to make clear though, I don't eat "perfect" and like I said I lift as heavy as I'm able, so my heavy may not be the same as your…

Apple Watch -- accurate in daily burn estimate?
I've worn my Apple watch for several months and love to track my steps. But I just realized that the watch will give me a daily caloric burn as well if I look at the Activity app on my iphone. I'm questioning whether it is accurate though, or even close? Scooby gives me a TDEE of 2300ish. Heybales spreadsheet gives me…

Looking for reassurance
Having read a lot about EM2WL, I've decided to give it a go. As expected, I'm feeling full a lot.... and genuinely feeling guilty at the end of the day when I look at my food diary. Which I think says a lot about what low calorie dieting does to your outlook on food... not healthy! I recently got a personal trainer and…

Am I on the right track? Advice please
I am 1 week in to a full reset and just looking for some advice on how to continue as I search for my true TDEE. I am loving the freedom this reset has bought me already, in the weeks/months of reading and playing with the idea of eating more, and in this last week alone. I couldn't care less if I gain 100kg on this reset…

Back at it again!
Hey all! I've been off and on this forum for awhile, still trying to figure out why I'm stalling so bad. So here's where I'm at: I've been around 160 pounds for months now, and have lost next to no inches. My current activity level is I lift weights 4 times a week, and I do cardio 4-5 days a week with 2 of those days being…

Back at it
So I got down to 143 in march and then crept back up to 148. Probably a combo of birthday parties, summer beer and menopause. Panicked and cut calories to 1500. No change after 3 weeks so now I am gradually increasing and I'm currently at 1800. In the mean time I for a polar h7 heart rate monitor and how to be able to work…

Eating Question
I have a question that maybe someone can help with. I know that getting your protein in daily is important, this is the hardest for me. I have been follow a Paleo diet for almost a year now so getting a lot of protein is not always easy. My other challenge is getting enough calories. I eat a lot of vegetables which are not…

Confusion re Quick Start Guide

Using Scooby (Activity Level: moderate exercise and calorie reduction: 15%) I got the following info: BMR: 1442 TDEE: 2236 Daily Calory goal: 1900 So according to “TDEE with Cut” I eat at 1900 calories for 6 weeks (regardless of…

Anyone else doing a reset?
So, I have dabbled with EM2wl before, but never really committed. I think I am ready but I am so nervous about actually gaining weight. On purpose. Right now, I am a 5'8", 151lb female, body fat around 24. According to wrist measurement, I have a small frame, but I tend to think it is more medium. I have never done really…

Slightly frustrated...maybe you can help :)
Well I have done a metabolic reset which lasted over 3 months, after calculating my TDEE it came out around 2000 and something calories. So I was eating at that for a while. Over these 3 months I put on around 7lbs. 4 weeks ago I started my cut, cutting 10% which put me at 1750. In that time I have seen nothing change :(…

I'm in!
After a couple of weeks of reading around this forum, clicking on links, hearing other peoples stories and generally swotting up on the EM2WL philosphy I think this might just be the place for me. Now I just have to work out the best way to begin. So I thought I'd start a thread so that hopefully some of you smart,…

Searching for the right mix...
Hi there! I am 62. I have been on every diet plan known to mankind and have lost/gained weight time and time again. I joined MFP June 2013 and was losing so slowly that I quit for 6 months. I recommitted in December 2014, got a personal trainer, and have logged in for 160 days. In that time, I have lost 15 pounds. There…

Help please
Hi, I've been eating more to weigh less since April this year (although I had a lapse with watching my eating and using MFP in July and August, stopped exercising for a month other than walking and gained a little weight and inches round my whole body (about 1.5 inches in each area). I started the Surge lifting programme…
