My current stats.. 27 y/o 5'4" BMR 1388 TDEE 2151 132.8lbs 36" around belly (the only thing I care to measure LOL) This week I've bumped up from 1200 calories to 1500. My weight has leveled out at 132.8 lbs and wondering if this…

Week off?
Has anyone ever taken a week off from tracking just to eat intuitively before the increase week? Just thinking it might be helpful to me to let it all go for a week. It's been so stressful and controlled.

Strength Training Resource
Hello all, In the past, I have dabbled in using free weights and therabands (rubber bands). I have not successfully incorporated strength training into my exercise routine for the long term. I know the importance of it and want to give it another go. I'm interested in using the free weights I have at home and I'm someone…

Hello everyone!
Hello all! I've been on MFP for about 7 weeks and have been weight training with my personal trainer for about 4 weeks. It's the first time I have weight trained in my entire life. Prior to this, I have always tried to lose weight by doing cardio only and with very restricted calorie plans of about 1200 calories a day. I…

Looking for advice
Hey Everyone, I'm looking for some advice. In mid March I started NROLFW doing 3 workouts a week and had set my calories according to their formula which came out to 1968 calories. I did that for a few weeks and saw almost no difference. I then tried cutting my calories to 1600 for about 2 weeks and started to see about…

STS Workouts
Hi, I've recently joined this group. I've never eaten more to weigh less, so this concept is new to me and I'm preparing myself to start but want to make sure I have a planned workout in place. I have some experience of lifting heavy 5x5, I would not consider myself a beginner, more intermediate. After a long break of not…

I drink plenty of water and…

New here! Introducing myself
Hi everyone! Been lurking for a few weeks and trying to read up as much as possible. I am 5'5 and 131 lbs at 37 years old. I had been doing a bootcamp and diet program for moms and found that I was really struggling to both lose weight and eat as much as was prescribed by the plan. I started tracking my calories and was…

Body Recomp
Hey all! I have a question for you all. I am going back to the gym (YAY!!) and have an appointment with a powerlifting coach on Monday to go over some stuff. I am wanting to work a program and focus on a body recomp program. The problem is that I am a little bit lost with which program is best? I did buy the EM2WL Beginner…

Inches lost, now what?
Within the past month I have fluctuated between 177-180. And with increasing calories, I have expected this. With starting Jillian michaels body Revolution also a month ago (which incorporates weights cardio and ab work), I have lost a total of 5 1/2 inches all over, but have not lost weight. I am totally ok with this!!…

Please help me be clear on TDEE and fitbit calories burned
So I posted last week about what the Fitbit calories burned came from. I understand that it is BMR plus calories burned from my activities. If using the 1-3 hours of activity on scooby I get the TDEE of 2285 which is what I have been shooting form either on or below for the last 4 months. I am 98% consistent on my…

Strength training for the SUPER weak
Hey everyone. I know the importance of strength training, and although I absolutely -hate- the way it feels to pick up heavy things, I'm committed to changing my body so I need to suck it up. That said, I'm ridiculously weak. Far too weak for Stronglifts or Starting Strength - I can't do any of the exercises with an empty…

Calories don't match
My total number of calories in my diary is different than my total number of calories showing on my ticker. I manually entered my calories because I'm doing the TDEE method so how do I go into my settings and make sure the total calories in my diary and ticker match? Thanks!!

Struggle to eat my macros in protein
does anyone else struggle to eat all their macros in protein? I have macros set to 40 carb, 30 protein, 30 fat. I've been trying to eat protein with every meal and snack and I still can't seem to get even close. I have my food pretty much logged for the day and I still have 70g of protein left! How is everyone else getting…

Exercise calories
So used to eating back excercise calories... When I go for a run I use Runtastic and it automatically updates MFP with the estimated calories burned... Should I not be eating those calories back anymore?

Wrong number of calories?!
So I followed Scooby and heybales spreadsheet and all had me at TDEE 1700 eating (with 15% cut...showed my burn closer to 2000 with activity level). Yet I got the Fitbit Charge HR and it shows my daily burn at only 1800. Which means I've been eatin too much!! So kinda losing faith in the EM2WL bc all calculations I've been…

What am I doing wrong?
Something isn't working for me. I've been at this since January, got my calories up to 2000 and around the end of March early April was down to 143 (goal is 137). May 19 I weighed in at my doctors, a scale I've never weighed on and fully clothed after breakfast and I was 152. I just weighed myself on my usual scale and I'm…

1-1/2 years later
Hi all. I haven't been on here for a bit (few months) so I thought I'd come on by give a little update I didn't start off very heavy - I was 165 at 5'6" in December of 2013- but it was still too heavy for me. I lost 5lb quite quickly and decided that I wanted to slow that loss down (didn't realise it was probably water…

3 months at TDEE compared to 7 months at caloric deficit (weight and inches compared)
I have been taking measurements since I started loosing weight back in August of 2014. I take them around the beginning of the month. I decided to skip April 1st measurements because I was doing a full-rest with EM2WL and I was worried that if I saw my measurements increase, I wouldn't stick with it. So I skipped April...…

Fitbit calories burned? MFP logging questions
I just got a new Fitbit flex Friday. I set up my stride and weight on it. I did not set up a food plan on it at this point. I log in MFP and set MFP to maintain, I also log excercise in MFP and did not sync the Fitbit to MFP. I wanted to see steps and calories burned. So yesterday the fitbit said I burned 2798 calories ,…

Powerlifting?
Does any one have any experience with powerlifting? I'm very interested in it and want to start competing perhaps sometime next year. I was thinking in the mean time I could train like I'm competing but have no idea on how to get started. I figure the training could really transform my body along with the right diet. Right…

Diet rest week(s) vs. day/week
I understand the reasoning behind taking a diet rest/break in order to re-rev up our metabolism after being in cut-mode for a period of time, however I'm curious regarding the best method. I see that the EM2WL folks generally recommend 1-2 weeks after 2-3 months of being on a cut. I have also read, on other sites, about…

Should I Increase?
Ok so I have a question... I did really good at breaking the looooooong plateau that I had by upping my calories to 2360 but I seem to have stalled out again. Should I up my calories? It was recommended that I should be using Scooby calculator and logging my stuff as 7-21 hours of strenuous. I am starting to wonder if that…

Recently increased my calorie intake, weight loss has stalled
Hi, I recently did a hydrostatic fat test that showed I was severely under eating. I've lost 105 lbs in the last 2 years but I was getting very tired during my workouts which are quite intense. I was formerly eating about 1400-1700 calories a day, but recently increased to 2300-2500 daily, with one cheat day weekly…

What's the best way to increase calories?
I understand that I should do it gradually, but when you add those extra calories what kinds of food are you adding? I would say that we eat pretty healthy...lots of fresh fruits and veggies, very little read meat, lots of whole grains--and cheese, I love cheese on practically everything! Can I add more cheese to my life…

Very little progress
Hey all! I've been doing this now for the past few weeks and I haven't really seen any inches go lower. My bf% has been staying roughly the same. I was eating around 1900-2000 calories a day and it seems I have stalled. Getting slightly discouraged here. I lift 3 times a week and do very little cardio. Mainly taking my…

Just starting out with questions..
Hello! My husband and I have recently begun to focus on health and fitness rather than "dieting and losing weight" I would like to try to EM2WL and I'm wondering if someone could advise on exercise for me when calculating my BMR and TDEE? My regular weekly exercise consists of : 3 or 4 mornings a week 40 minutes of lap…
