Losing Inches?
Perhaps someone can explain this to me because I'm really confused. I see a lot of posts from people who are eating in a calorie deficit, the scale is not moving, but they say they are losing inches. What exactly is happening for them to be losing inches? If they're in a calorie deficit, they can't be building muscle…

Who would of thought eating makes u not hungry!
I'm in my 2nd or 3rd week of my metabolism reset. I can't recall when I started. Usually when I start a "diet" i'm counting the days, a second at a time and HUNGRY! I eat about 2300+ calories a day and feel Thanksgiving stuffed all day (not complaining). I actually have no room in my belly to binge. Progress so far during…

In Dispair
Hi all I found you guys in mid 2012, until then I had always lived on a vlcd and had a small appetite to match. I remember the day that I was running over the fells, on a hilly section that I always struggled with only to find I had the energy to keep going. I did up my cals to around 1900 /day (give or take) and my size…

EM2WL & Breastfeeding
I am a mid-20s toddler mom trying to overhaul my (& my family's) lifestyle. I have lost weight using MFP, but began to question my settings when it dropped me down to the minimum (1200) so soon. I adjusted my loss goal, but was still landing below BMR - which is when I discovered posts about TDEE & EM2WL. My stats are as…

NROLFW please help me figure out the workout
I bought the recommended book, NROLFW, read it and got most of it except the workouts. I don't understand the whole stage one where is says workout 1,2,3,4. Where is workout one spelled out for you, workout 2 etc.. I feel silly asking this but I just want to get started already. If anyone can shed some light on this,…

Could someone please check my figures!
Hi I've been on MFP for over a year, started doing loads of cardio (I enjoy it!) and my weight stalled....and my figure too....started weight training and my body transformed...hardly lost any weight but looked 4 times more than it read on the scales..All good, I was happy with it all. THEN I broke my leg 27th December, so…

High BMR?
Hi, After reading loads of posts, I've decided to go the TDEE/Macro way of life. I'm going to carry on with a little cardio and increase weights. I've worked out my BMR/TDEE and Cut and here are the figures; BMR: 1708 TDEE: 2349 Cut 20%: 1879 I'm just wondering if my BMR sounds high? And the difference of my BMR and Cut is…

Starting Full Metabolism Reset Today
This is really scary. For the past year I have been eating at calorie goal and exercise so would be on track for gradual half pound per week weight lose---unfortunately I have actually gained a few pounds. I finally came back to EMWL blog and read some other books and determined that I definitely need to reset my…

Spreadsheet
Just something I noticed on Haybales spreadsheet...If I do 3 30 min walks and 3 30 min of weight lifting a week it gives me a 25% def. eating 1600 calories. If I do the walks and take out weight lifting it gives me a 13% def eating 1800! Obviously I would rather eat 1800. I asked before about 1600 being low and he…

I can feel my toes!
I'm still in the reset stage and trying to figure out my calories. Like everyone (and their mamma) I'm wondering if this is really going to work. I got my first real sign! My husband can't stand my frosty toes and hands, especial when we are in bed. Well last night my husband went to snuggle to warm me up, like he always…

Starting New, Just Want to Clarify
So I am new to this TDEE. I thought I would try something new as I've went from 300 lbs to 182 lbs over the last six years doing many diets from Weight Watchers to straight calorie counting and now I've been stuck at this 182 lbs for a long time. I've been basically trained to always eat a deficit and is moderately…

Help! Super New to all of this!
Hey guys! So I'm new to this entire 'counting calories' thing! My ideal caloric intake is 1200/day. So.. that means I need to eat at least 1200 a day right? What happens if I eat say... 1300 calories and burn 100 from exercises - is that ok? or: What happens if I eat 1200, and burn 100 - leaving my body 1100.... Not sure…

?app for calories burned
Hi, new to MFP. I mistakenly posted to the regular site and most responses were to eat less and weigh my food....I don't see that happening. Maybe I will re try that for a couple of days to re educate myself. I have never been a low calorie eater but it appears I may be eating less than I am exercising. I have been eating…

Eating more starting today!
Hey Everyone! I was pointed in this direction because I made a general post about how I was afraid to up my calories. I started MFP about a month ago. I started by limiting myself to 1,300 calories per day, burning around 500 calories at the gym 5 days a week. If I ate back my exercise calories, I would only eat back about…

Can I do extra cardio on those days? And also do some cardio on the days that I don't do it? I have a lot of fat I am trying to lose. Any suggestions…

2nd opinion
Would someone help me out a bit and double check my numbers - tell me I am on the right path and I shouldn't worry about it and to just keep going. I am 5'4" - today's weight 181.2 and age 39. I was last September down to 165.8, but the scale seems to slowly keep creeping up on me. I started this journey 2 years ago and I…

New here, logging question
Hi everyone, I'm new to this group. I love the idea of being able to eat more and still lose weight! Restricting too many calories has never worked for me in the past, so I believe this is just the option for me. My BMR is 1762, my TDEE is 2731, making a 15% cut of 2331. I read that the TDEE incorporates your average…

How long unti you saw results
I am totally 100% freaked OUT by EMWL but I am determined to give it a real try because eating even 1500-1700 calories for me (255lb woman, desk job, workout 3-4 times weekly mix of heavy weights/cardio, 5'10) wasn't shifting weight over the past few months. I thought of eating less but everything I read just keeps telling…

Body Recomposition vs. Bulking and Cutting
So I'm looking for opinions on this stance on getting rid of "those last five pounds." I'm not looking to lose anymore weight, but to lose BF%. I am 5'5", 155lbs and currently at 25-29% BF, and took up weight lifting in October 2013. I have been slowly getting up reset since December (been at TDEE for about three weeks),…

Primal/Paleo/Real Foods
Hey EM2WL folks! I was here many moons ago and I took a break because counting calories was starting to become bad for my mental health. But now I'm back, feeling positive, and looking to make a slow and steady change towards better health! In my readings I'm fairly taken with the paleo/primal/whole real foods approach and…

Eating enough
