I hope it encourages others not to give up.

Very good.

About six years ago, I lost weight. I got down to 190 and then woke one day and started doing the same things I had before. I ended up heavier than before. Being healthier is a lifestyle, not a diet.

Thanks. I actually enjoy running now. I think it helps me relax.

I didn't mention, I have been maintaining a weight of about 160 pounds since February of this year. I weighed in this morning at 157.

I ride a road bike, a Cannondale. They can be costly, but you can find them on Craig's List for 200.00 to 300.00. They ride great. We have a paved trail where I live, they call it the Greenway. When I ride the whole thing, it's about 14 miles.

I'm not a fitness expert, but all I do is watch my calorie intake. I have lost 62.5 pounds and have maintained my current weight of about 160 since February this year doing so. In my experience, weight loss is most about input vs. output. If you are putting in more than your burning, you gain weight. If your burning more…

I've lost about 63 pounds, and have been maintaining since February. I too run and am not much interested in bulking. I am trying to stay tone though. Here is what I do. I try to do sit ups after almost every run. This strengthens my core and I believe ultimately helps my running. I also try to spend a little time lifting…

Struggled with my weight for years. Pretty much since getting out of the Army in 1996. A good friend made it simple for me. With few exceptions, weight loss is simply a matter of input vs. output. If you are taking in more calories than your burning, you'll gain weight. If you take in less than your burning, you'll lose…

Really great job. Congratulations.

Great job and your motivation should inspire others. As a Veteran, thanks now for your desire to serve.

Stay within your calorie limit and you wont gain.
-
Great job.

MFP would always ask if I wanted to recalculate after a loss of 10 pounds. It worked well.

I think it is more than doable. I love running, now. For some reason, I never did when I was in the Army. I guess because I had to. I try to increase my endurance by making sure that I steadily increase my speed the entire time I am running. In addition, I have regularly increased the time I run since starting again in…

It can happen, just don't give up.

I understand. I try not to think too much about it. I'm exercising, I feel better than in a long time. I just try to stay around my calorie limit. I may have to increase a little more. but will know in a few weeks. Keep doing what your doing I think. Congrats on feeling better.

They're right, 1200 is a calorie deficit. Try getting to 1200. I think you will find you still lose weight, and it will stay off.

Very cool. Congratulations

I have lost 61. Actually 21 pounds under my original goal of 180. Log all you eat. I exercise and don't eat the additional allotted calories, but you can if you want. Most of all, know that it works and all you have to do is not quit. My son started MFP in September 2014 at 372 pounds. He weighed in 2 days ago at 265. 107…

I just eat the maintenance amount. I have maintained for the most part. Actually started maintenance in February at 163 and weighed in last Sunday at 158.5. It was hard at first, I felt like I was eating too much. Turns out it's okay. Weigh about every two weeks and adjust calories if you need to. I've found MFP to be…

I lost 60 pounds, 20 more than my original goal just counting my calories. I ate what I wanted and quit when I reached my limit. Of course, I love to eat, so I think I made better choices so I could consume more. I've been maintaining a weight of about 160 since February. Still just counting calories.
-
Weighed in two days ago and was 159.5. Believe that I'm happy with that. If I lose any more I may increase the calories a little, but I feel really GOOD.

13 pounds in a month is huge. Don't quit no matter what. You can do it. It took me about 8 months to lose 60 pounds, but it happened. Exercise plays an important role in getting our metabolism moving. A diabetic nurse practioner that I would see at the VA clinic I went to told me that some studies show that 30 minutes of…

I've been there. Just don't quit. I had weeks where I gained weight. In the end, I made it to my original goal minus another 20 pounds.
-
Wow, what a difference.

I'd say just do MFP. I lost 59.5 pounds to get to an ideal weight for my height. I did it just using MFP. Just follow the calorie limits they set. Your doing basically the same thing, except, I was never hungry.
-
I just adjusted to what MFP recommended right away. The first week, I gained two pounds, but at the end of three weeks was back down to where I was when I started maintaining. Three weeks later, I had lost another couple pounds. I wasn't eating the extra calories when I exercised though. Weigh yourself every couple weeks,…

Thanks for sharing. Great success story. Congratulations.
