Today: single leg squats to a box: 3x 7 holding a 12kg dumbbell, 2x7 with 10kg dumbbell OHP: 7/6/5 with 12kg 7/7 with 10 unassisted chin ups: 3/3/2 assisted pull ups: 7/7/7/7/6 Then 5x13 burpees, which just about killed me!

Dumbell RDLs: 3x15 @ 14kg incline dumbbell bench press: 3x20 @ 10kg face pulls: 3x15 split squats: 15/15/12 with a 16kg dumbbell I'm meant to do these as a circuit, but that would just cause trouble in the gym! So I did the first two together, then the second two.

hello, @kimiuzzell ! I, too, have been lurking - but I miss you guys, so I'll sneak back in even though I've changed from stronglifts, if that's cool! Yesterday was mostly a bodyweight day: 4x12 split squats with an 8kg kettlebell 4x12 sloooooow push ups with my feet raised 4x12 single arm 12kg kettlebells 4x12 inverted…

Bench: 8/8/8/7 @27.5kg inverted row: 8/8/12/12 Deadlift: 5/5/5 " 42.5kg - still taking this super-slow Then some hamstring curls on the machine

I haven't done Turkish get ups in a while, but you've got me wanting to try again! I used to do them where I was more into kettlebells, and have just fallen out of the way of it. I shall try again soon! I'll have to investigate a waiter's carry...

Man, I loved the gym today, too. Just a good day for it, I think! I did: Lunges with rear foot raised, with 2 8kg dumbbells - 8/8/12/12 Single dumbbell push press: 8/8/12/12 with 8kg dumbbell Single arm pull down: 8/8/12/10 @ 16.25kg Then some hip raises: 10/10/10/10 I'm still following the Nia Shanks workout and I've…

Sorry to hear that, Dawn. It can be hard having to wait, too - I hope you're with your family soon. I was on my way to the gym and then had to come home, as we had someone coming to quote on painting windows and she changed the time... But I managed to use some weights we have at home, and do a bit of a workout: One leg…

Well done! It's definitely just a normal part of your life now. I'm concerned, though, that the new place might have fewer crazy people for you to report on in the 'this guy in the gym' thread

Oh, I like this! My pull ups have suffered after a month away cycling, and I'm frustrated. This sounds just the ticket. Thanks!

Ooh, squats on today's workout, a treat! I miss doing them more, though I know I need this change. Squats: 5/5/5 @ 56kg - it was meant to be 5x5 but my adductors ( I think?) started to hurt, so was sensible OHP: 5/5/5/4 @ 20kg - back to the bare bar Pull ups: 3/2 bare, and then 5/5/5 with assistance Hip raises: 10/10/10/10…

Yep, my feet don't reach the ground properly when I bench so I use those square plastic things that you use in step class to boost my feet - two each side. Looks a bit crazy but it works. And no one ever says 'see you using the rack?' When you have filled it with big coloured plastic squares :-) And I always use the rack…
-
I wonder if there are more people using racks these days. I've definitely noticed more women using them, so maybe gyms are having to reassess!

I've been lazy about posting recently, though I have been making it to the gym - mostly! Still on my Nia Shanks routine, and yesterday was day 4 of that. Deadlift: 5/5/5 @ 40kg - taking these slow inverted row: 8/8 with feet raised, 10/9 without - was aiming for 2x12 single arm bench: 8/8 @ 10kg dumbbell, 12/12 @ 8kg…

Back at it. Squat racks were full when I got there (late, due to family dramas) so I started with pull ups, which felt weird, somehow! I'm playing with a Nia Shanks routine for now. Pull ups: 4x5 assisted and then almost 2 unassisted. I used to be able to do more! Maybe all those assisted ones wore me out Hip raises: 5x5…

I love my fractional plates! I have 8x 0.25kg. Adds quite a weight to my gym bag, admittedly! But I can go up in increments of half a kilo at a time, and that's great.
-
First off, I'm really sorry to hear that, @ninenines. As for me - well, I'm back at it... Back from four weeks cycling in France, so I have strong legs and wobbly everything else. Time to get back to the gym. I went on Sunday and managed: Squats: 5x5 @ 55kg OHP: 5x5 @ 20kg Deadlifts: 1x5 @ 35kg I'm back to low weights on…

I'm out of the lifting game for the moment - I pulled something last week in a deadlift. I thought it would be fine but it's got more painful, so I'm seeing a physio tomorrow. I'm being super careful because I'm going off on a cycling trip next weekend, fully loaded with camping gear, so I need everything working as well…
-
Drawstring bag here, too - otherwise I'd be a comedy act carrying fractional plates, phone, notes, water etc. It's small and black and I don't think anyone would really notice it. Except that it clanks as the plates move when I walk
-
Wow, @DawnEmbers - that's so great! I had been thinking about you and hoping it was going well, and then you go and come in second! Wow. You must feel great right now.
-
No weights this weekend, just cycling training - we went away for the weekend with my sister and her partner. Good fun, lots of hills and lots of beer.
-
Oh man, sorry you've been having such a hard time. I hope things start to pick up! Xx
-
Hello! You've been missed! What's going on with you?
-
Squats: 5x5 @ 66.5kg Bench: 3x5 @ 31.5 kg and then 2 x5 @ 32.5kg Then - I got bored, so did a couple of sets of three chin ups, some kettlebell swings, and 5x5 kettlebell rows using a 12kg. And one day I will crack up at this iPad trying to add a capital to kettlebell....

And we suddenly have a 'like button' !
-
Oh! That took me by surprise. I'm sure it did you too
-
Tonight - nice empty gym due to the rain Squats: 5x5 @ 66kg Deadlift: 5x5 @ 66kg - my back felt a bit dodgy after this. Need to watch my form OHP: 3/3/2 @ 23kg - left it at that as I was worried about the slight ache in my back... Partly I think I was just really hungry and so gave up easily!
-
I'll be thinking of you on Sunday, @DawnEmbers ! I hope it all goes well - I'm sure it will. Just try to have fun and enjoy the experience! If I didn't live on the other side of the Atlantic I'd come along and cheer you on

Okay, if this of any interest or use to anyone else, it looks like it's definitely been an allergy - I wore a t-shirt for squats on Saturday and have been slathering myself with antihistamine cream. And ... the red, raised, itchy patches have practically vanished. Thank goodness!

Today's workout: 54 miles on the bike, with a cafe stop for soup and scones!
