  • What kind of protein powder? It might be the whey
  • Also when people say the amount of weight, is that the total weight of the plates added or does that include the bar?
  • I recently moved to the squat rack because I finally was to the point where I couldn't lift the weight I needed over my head. Just been doing the bar by itself until I've got form down (such a difference going from free weight to squat rack), and the confidence to increase weights
  • I would say it means your metabolism is working faster. That happens to me too. I eat 5-6 meals a day, and I'm pretty much hungry every hour :) But I think it's a good thing.
  • I was the same way, chickened out a few times before I actually went into the class. It'll be fine, there are lots of 'veterans' in there who seem intimidating because they know what they're doing but they are always willing to help newbies, and there are always a few of those too. Pick a class at a time that won't be…
  • I'm as far as it gets from a morning person but have recently started working out in the morning to free up much needed time in the evening. things I do: -prep literally everything the night before. clothes laid out, breakfast assembled or even cooked already (as well as post workout snack and lunch), bag by the door or in…
  • Yikes. I'm only squatting 40 lbs (15x3 with the pre-loaded plates attached to the bar) because that's as much as I can lift over my head. I need to get in the rack but it's intimidating, and I've been told to stay away from the Smith machine. Actually, now that I'm writing this I'm wondering if that's even the correct…
  • I use the whole wheat sandwich thins too, and I liked to add spinach, tomato, mushrooms, sometimes ground turkey to my egg. I got this awesome little microwave egg cooker from Target that makes a perfect egg patty in 1 min, and you can toss all the toppings inside
  • I use the magic bullet almost every day for anything from making smoothies to chopping garlic. microwave egg poacher- use it every single morning
  • Girl Talk is hands down my favorite workout music and it's all I've listened to when working out for years. All Day and Feed the Animals are my favorite. It's basically one giant mashup so it never gets boring and is fast paced so it's great . I think they are available for free online
  • Same here--- it only happens to me on leg day and especially with squats. Although it has stopped happening, so maybe when your legs get stronger it goes away (or, I'm not pushing myself hard enough.. I kind of liked getting that sick feeling because I knew it meant I was really working it haha)
  • Ok, that makes sense. I've been using strictly free weights but the ones I needed were taken and I decided to just try the bar and change things up. I assumed the number was each plate so I went for around the same weight I use with dumbbells (talking bench press here) and it was WAY too easy. I'll probably stick to free…
  • COUCH TO 5K! I always hated running. A LOT. But now, not only am I capable of running, I actually like it! Seriously, try it.
  • I have a handful of go-to meals that I have had in rotation for a long time and haven't gotten tired of yet: breakfast: -banana/almond milk/PB/oatmeal smoothie. So delicious, I was pretty addicted to these but have laid off them for the winter since I want something warm -whole wheat english muffin and a poached egg. I…
  • Ok, thanks everyone. I think I'll take them back or at least go talk to them and see what they think. I'm wondering if it might be because of the size difference in my feet, the arch support is in the wrong place on my left foot (and would make sense that only my left foot hurt).
  • I'm a Carolina fan but working for the Pack... I'm a ram in wolf's clothing :)
  • My older pair was apparently too small for me, and I just didn't notice until I started running which I just started to do recently (had been mainly weight lifting and non-running cardio). I don't think they make them anymore. I also have really narrow and long feet, and almost a size difference between the two, so most…
  • It's too cold--- I'll warm up by working out! I'm tired-- nothing like a good workout to get energized (I have a sticky note in my car reminding myself that no matter how tired I am, working out will feel great. I wrote it once when I was so exhausted but forced myself to go and was so glad after)
  • I attempted creating my own pumpkin protein shake recently, similar to ones posted above, but it just tasted like squash! I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk, vanilla protein powder, canned pumpkin, and spices. The same thing happened when I made a pumpkin pie oatmeal recipe I had found. Couldn't even finish it.…
  • For the days in which you have running and walking intervals, I just added up the total amount of time I walked and the total amount of time I ran and logged the walking and running separately. I used mapmyrun app which tells you your average pace and used that for logging my run speed
  • I normally lift weights 2-3x a week and run on the other days.. I've been wanting to try body pump just to change things up a bit but I keep hearing that it's more of a cardio class than strength training. Does that mean I can/should still lift in addition to body pump?
  • Beyonce- B'Day... i love this for cardio and it's pretty long ALSO... Girl Talk is hands down my favorite running music but it's not just one song (but you should still check it out. All Day and Feed the Animals are the best)
  • AEB_WV- what is the graduate program you are doing? I actually finished C25k yesterday! Running my first 5k Saturday. Highly recommend it to anyone- a few months ago (and all my life) I never thought I could run more than 5 minutes. It really works if you stick with it. Looking for what to do next though because a huge…
  • Well I wasn't able to find any dried cranberries or blueberries that didn't list sugar as an ingredient at Fresh Market.. anyone know where I can find *healthy* dried fruit? Are raisins better?
  • It's very high in fiber, so if you are not used to that much fiber it could give you some slight tummy problems.
  • my "go to" meals- breakfast- 1 whole wheat waffle with 1 tbspn reduced fat peanut butter (quick easy and filling, i usually eat it on my way to work); oatmeal (quaker instant weight control ones are good, when im in a hurry i just bring the packet and make it at work); bowl of kashi go lean cereal; smart ones egg and…
