ndj1979: I won't quote your whole post but: hear, hear! Well said.

Dearannna: Thank you so much! That's precisely how I think I'll be logging using mine, too. That's really good advice. And I'm finding that's how a lot of people interpret the data from their HRMs. Thank you! Very helpful post! :D

I understand your frustration. I started at 235, lost 80 and gained it all back. So, here I am back at the beginning alongside ya. Now, here's the thing. This isn't The Biggest Loser. We don't have the luxury of working out and dieting like it's our job. We have school, work, chores, family, friends, homework, volunteer…

We use a plain old food processor (actually got it at the second-hand store for $7!) and strain out any big chunks with a mesh strainer. Maybe that will help you?

Thanks, 3dogs! :D

So, I did the Harris Benedict Equation for my BMR. That reads 1777. 1777 x 1.2 for sedentary = 2132.4 That's a large difference and seems more reasonable. So, round it to 2100 -1200 calorie net = 900 additional calories burned per day. Roughly 3500 calories per pound equals 1 lb. loss every 3.8 days, so just under 2 lbs.…

Can you tell me where that information comes from or why that is? I'd like to be as accurate as possible so if i'm way off base, it's important for me to understand why. Thanks!
-
Oh, really? Can you tell me where you got this information? I'd like to make sure I'm doing it right. Thanks!

Nice! I actually ended up just settling on turning our dinner into a soup. Big chunks of baked chicken, pureed broccoli mixed in with chunks. Chicken stock. A tbsp. of butter and flour to thicken it a bit. Garlic, spices and herbs. Laughing Cow light minis for cheesiness. I'm adding half a cup of greek yogurt to mine but…

Ha! Yep, been there. That's why we make lists before we go now. ;p

ALWAYS raw unless the package states cooked. I know it's been said a few times but it's very important you get more of those responses and take them seriously as the people who say "cooked" are very very wrong and I'd hate to see you reap the consequences of their mistakes.

I'm everyone-friendly. Except bigots. Not a big fan of those. I'm pretty hardcore about this diet and fitness stuff so add me if you're taking it as seriously as I am!
-
Well, I'm stumped! I honestly can't think of a single thing. I, personally, would be just as annoyed as you are but I'd keep going another month and see if the trend begins to change. If not, come back and we'll go deeper to reevaluate. Good luck to you!

I just quit smoking last week. I'm so glad because I've always had an over-sensitive sense of smell and was brushing my teeth and washing my hands 3-10 extra times a day (after each cigarette). Unfortunately, that just meant I smelled like toothpaste, soap AND cigarettes. There's no getting it out of hair or clothes…

I doubt you're gaining enough muscle for this to be an issue. Are you weighing your foods and counting everything? Just about everything but plain water has calories. Also, are you using the same scale each time you weigh yourself? Are you weighing at the same time of day after using the restroom but before eating? Are you…

No one said you have to. Feedback is motivating for some people. Is it such a foreign concept to you that different people have different perspectives?
-
Nevermind.

I can't wait til I'm at my goal weight so I can throw out every stitch of fabric I own and start fresh! All I want for my day-to-day are workout clothes, 8 pairs of extremely flattering designer jeans and 8 black t-shirts. No joke. That is all I want in life. And 10 or so pairs of shoes.

Not a thing but coffee. I generally don't get hungry til lunchtime. Which is great because that makes my 1200 calorie net easier to stick to. :) And I get a bigger dinner after my workout.
-
You look very thin in your profile pic. What makes you think you still need to lose weight?

AHHHH found it! Community > Bell > All Notifications > Replies. Thanks, Kinky!

@Delilah: Hey, that's my dog's name! Thanks. I have too many bookmarks as it is but it looks like that might be the only way. :) @Kinky: It seems to only work for me once I'm viewing the thread. In one thread, it says 79 notifications. In another, 2. Not universal. Might have to peep settings. THX!

A friend's mom took Phen-Phen when we were 12. She lost some weight then gained it back plus a lot more. She was the fattest person I'd ever met til I was about 20. Now, she's been on a diet of 800 calories per day for the last six years and is still morbidly obese. It had seriously detrimental effects on her health. Don't…

LITERALLY tomorrow! I've only been sticking to my calorie goal and working out for a few days and I feel so much better. Words of wisdom there. :D

IN! My start weight is 233. I'd LOVE to be 213 by March 1!
-
You have collarbones and a waist! :D This is such a tremendous change, you look like a totally different person. Wonderful work!
-
I think this is a great suggestion and I have always wanted to be the kind of person who can do this but it's never lasted. I actually LOVE P90X and Insanity but only did them three or four times and only into the first week! I lose steam unless I've bothered to get dressed and drive to the gym. Also, my house is really…

Go before work. Just go for 30 minutes. Try to keep your heart rate between 120 and 160 beats per minute the entire half hour. Then shower, get ready and dress for work and be on your way. If you make a protein shake the night before, just grab it, a bottle of water and your healthy, pre-made lunch out of the fridge on…

LOL Models don't get to eat like humans. Don't be ridiculous. That's why they're models. In order to be that underweight standard, they're starving themselves. Or so say the handful of model friends I've had. They obsess over food because they can't have any.
