  • +1 on meal prep. I made all my meals for the week in 3 hours tonight. Saves the temptation to way convenience foods (I always think just once will be alright, but it never is). When I stop meal prepping, I start gaining.

  • Most likely that level of net carbs will suit you fine.
  • Weight loss isn't linear, and water weight will make you think all the negative thoughts in the world. LCHF/keto helps reduce the number of calories I eat, because I'm not as hungry. It helps me keep cravings at bay, and I think keeps the brain fog away. It doesn't make me lose weight more than calories in calories out.…
  • I crave sugar when I'm tired; looking for quick energy I guess. Have you been sleeping enough?
  • Can definitely tell a difference. Keep doing what you're doing. Also, kudos for being strong enough to post your photos.
  • They are fantastic. I got some and took then in for my co-workers and I to try and they taste like pork rinds, but they aren't as dry.
  • I'm assuming you've tried raw in salads, or straight. Have you tried loading with salt and pepper? Guacamole would hide the texture and taste. If still not tasty, add more garlic/cilantro/lemon zest. Have to look for recipes online, I just wing it normally. Avocado miso salad is tasty, but might be higher carb than your…
  • Note: I don't have the same condition as you, so take the following with a grain of salt. How hard are you riding? If you stay in aerobic zone, of MAF training zone (Phil Maffetone), I would expect your blood sugar to stay closer to normal because you'll be in fat burning vs glycogen burning. My logic is based on the…
  • I didn't use to like bitter chocolate, but since dropping sugar (and other carbs) some time back I find it much more pleasant. I use unsweetened bakers chocolate, and put fresh market (fresh ground) almond butter on. It's really tasty.
  • Eastern Carolina BBQ Sauce: Boil 16 oz apple cider vinegar with approx 3 tbsp. Of garlic and 3 tbsp. of red pepper flakes for 5 minutes (stir occasionally). Remove from heat and grind in pepper (to taste, probably about 1-2 tsp.). I pour over pork and let slow cook for 6-8 hours in a crock pot for easy low carb shredded…
  • Excellent dedication and follow through.

  • I haven't had time to join in a move challenge for a while, but am going to jump back in this month (still not much time, but can't sit around waiting until I have more). I'm going to target 50 miles run/jog and 100 miles cycling. Somewhat aggressive, but should be doable.
  • I have trouble knowing how small I am, and still feel like I need to "shrink" myself to get by someone. Then I realize there is plenty of room and I look kind of silly...
  • I'm not vegan, but wanted to make sure you'd heard of Scott Jurek and knew he wrote a book called Eat and Run. He is a vegan ultra runner, and in the book he discusses some of his challenges and includes a recipe each chapter.
  • How much easier it is to fold smaller clothes. Just folded a pair of my old 50" jeans, and a XXXL shirt, and it too longer/was harder than folding a pair of 36" jeans and a M shirt.
  • What about cycling bibs? The straps would help keep from sliding down, and they'd provide a pad.
  • I like the theory that Phil Maffetone has, running almost all training at a lower heart rate to prevent injury. This makes you faster at lower heart rates, and your able to run all day at a quick pace. I'm looking to do a marathon, and a 160 mile bike ride, this year and have been training as he spells out on his website.…
  • A regulator at work that I had quite a bit of interaction with a few years back heard my voice around a corner and popped his head around a corner saying "I hear someone I haven't seen in a while." He looked at me and apologized for interrupting my conversation saying he thought I was someone else. I asked him who he…

  • I feel this way sometimes too, even after a good loss. My only thought, for my own melancholy after a good weigh in, is maybe that I let myself get as big as I did to begin with if it's so easy to lose.

  • I switched to a standing desk because sitting was uncomfortable.
  • That I don't have time to work out. I still drive 3 hours per day and work 10-12, but there's plenty of time if I don't waste my time on the couch when I get home.

  • I know as I lose weight, I wish I could help those around me that also want to lose weight; unfortunately, most aren't willing to put in the "work" to track food and put in a little exercise. I'm sure that you were every bit as motivating and inspirational to him as you are to us.
  • You're doing great.
  • I also try on clothes that are too small, but I have to keep in mind that they won't fit right while I'm doing so. Don't do it if it demotivates you, or anything that horribly demotivates you. If it's helping, why not hang one of those tops in the bathroom so it's the first thing you see; to remind you that you want to be…
  • Sorry this is somewhat disjointed, but I wanted to offer a few insights from my experiences this year. I find it very hard to see or feel the results of my efforts; unfortunately, I had to push through until I could start to see changes in photos to start to feel smaller... Those photos also had to be candid photos of…
